The hotel staff were very friendly, and catered to ours and other guests needs, even when very busy, always with a smile. The service, whether it was housekeeping or at a restaurant was excellent. We appreciated a no wrist band policy. We also liked the no reservation policy for dinner. We rarely had to wait longer than half an hour for a table at prime time, between 5pm and 7pm.

Feb 02, 2025Comfortable resort, great service, and whales!
We had a lovely, relaxing week at Dreams Los Cabos and would go back. The resort itself was attractive and everything seemed clean. It’s not very big, with no separate theater or wedding area. It’s built like a horseshoe around the main pool. So there’s little chance of avoiding music from wedding parties or evening shows. Most ended by 9:30, so it's not a big deal. Unless you have kids and a room facing the pool or ocean. We had a preferred ocean front junior suite. We’d requested two double beds but got a king. It wasn’t optimal, but we made it work. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable, with a thick memory foam mattress. Like many tropical resorts, there was limited drawer space. Packing cubes helped a lot for storing items on shelves. The bathroom had a nice sized shower with rain head, but the vanity was small for two people. The mini fridge was stocked with soda, juice, and small bottles of beer. We also got a decent selection of snacks. Our favorite part of the room was the balcony, which provided sweeping views of the sea, mama whales with their babies, rays doing acrobatic flips in the air, and even the occasional dolphin. Remember to bring your binoculars! Pools were beautiful and reasonably warm. We were there for peace and quiet so spent most days on the beach. The sea isn't swimmable due to strong rip currents and it's not a great beach for walking. You could do it, but it’s not like a flat swath of sugary soft sand by the Caribbean. Up by the beach loungers, the “sand” was super rough with large pebbles. Shoes were necessary. But that's all okay. The sound of the waves was relaxing, and we regularly saw whales and rays from the beach. Overall, service was fantastic. However, a couple of the restaurants seemed understaffed at times. One night at Oceana, we waited about an hour for our dinner to arrive. And Seaside Grill regularly had a 20-25 minute wait for breakfast even though there were plenty of empty tables. Beach service was fantastic! MERCEDES at the Preferred Club beach was awesome. His English was limited, but he made up for it with his clear desire to make us feel relaxed and welcome. Servers at the non-Preferred beach also seemed attentive and fun. Food was pretty good but varied a lot from restaurant to restaurant. The buffet was okay. We ate breakfast there most days because we didn't want to wait for Seaside Grill. Food tended to be cold and not labeled real well. They did have made-top-order omelets/eggs and crepes. As the week went on, we got better at navigating the buffet and its offerings. If you want salt, you need to ask for it. I never found peanut butter but think they have it if you ask. Lunch most days was on the beach. The beach burgers and fish tacos were surprisingly good. All dinners, except for the special Mexican buffet on Monday, were at a la cartes because the buffet wasn’t open for dinner. That could be a problem if you have little kids. Bordeaux was our favorite, by far. The tenderloin was delicious, and our server BEYMAR was exceptional. Coco Café was a regular stop after dinner so we could check out the desserts for my travel buddy who has a big sweet tooth. From our experience, Dreams Los Cabos is a good value. It offers a comfortable stay, great service, and decent food without breaking the bank.

The location, views and beach are spectacular. Lumpy bed, average food, inconsistent housekeeping services detract from what could be 5-star. Failed to restock towels, snacks, and water. Preferred Club is a bright spot. Fish tacos on the Preferred Club beach are fantastic.

Stunning resort grounds with amazing pools. Rooms need updated.
I almost made us cancel and move our stay based on the negative reviews online but I’m glad we didn’t! Most of the negative reviews posted recently I don’t agree with. The pools are definitely heated and the food at Dreams is better than we’ve had at other Hyatt all inclusives and we could always find towels easily everyday. I pretty much never do the poolside activities but the entertainment team they have at the Dreams actually made them super fun and easy to join in. Especially Nico and Manuel they were amazing! The poolside drink staff were awesome as well, shout out to Lucas and Louis. Every night we enjoyed the live music at the Rendezvous bar with great drinks made by Andar and Natalia. Only things we didn’t like: the rooms are very tired and not sound proof especially near the connecting doors and the bathrooms could use an update. But the service is unmatched and we would definitely return! Pay up for Oceanfront it was worth it! Preferred club is definitely not worth it in our opinion.

Mere cedes is the best!
Took a day off from work and so enjoyed the reprieve at Preferred Beach area! Thank you for the wonderful drinks, excellent service, mama and baby whales. We cannot wait until we see you again, Mercedes! You have helped make our stay perfect!
