Wonderful Restful Resort
I had an incredible stay at the Wyndham Grand Barbados! The resort was spotless, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. The food was absolutely amazing — from the delicious breakfast buffet to the grill serving fantastic lunch and dinner options. Castle View Restaurant was definitely a highlight, offering mouthwatering dishes and expertly crafted cocktails. A must-try during your stay! One of the best features of the resort was the abundance of convenient self-service options. Whether you wanted water bottles, sandwiches, fresh fruit, empanadas, or sweets, there was always something readily available. It made the experience even more enjoyable and stress-free. The resort’s location was another big plus for us. While it’s not right downtown, it’s just an easy ride away. Its secluded setting made our stay feel peaceful and relaxing — a true escape from the hustle and bustle. Overall, I highly recommend Wyndham Grand Barbados for a relaxing and delightful getaway!

Not as bad as you read on here but does need some changes
First off don’t panic if you read some of the reviews on this page, it’s not that bad but maybe I got lucky in that the hotel was at 50% occupancy…. So headline, if you are a resort hermit, looking for a sunny, modern hotel with reasonable all inclusive food, decent rooms and hand crafted cocktails this is for you. If you are an explorer with high standards of food and room service go to the other side of the island but be prepared to pay over double what you pay here. The staff are 95% brilliant and welcoming. There are a few non performers that management should act on fast to avoid reputational damage. One day the management were on a charm offensive being very present and the service levels were like being in a different hotel. If you are looking for that swim up bar listed on their own website, it doesn’t exist despite the hotel telling me that they never claim to have one, check your own website. If you are looking for that high speed internet they claim to have on their website, expect to be on 3G as the only connection to civilisation unless you are very patient! Overall, it suited my needs of a lazy sunny holiday but I would not stay here again unless they sorted the WiFi. There’s lots of airline crew who use this hotel, quite cool with the BA and Canadian teams but the incoming TUI young team need to know this isn’t a 24 hour 18-30’s party weekend hangout…..pipe down kids! All my comments are intended to help the hotel. With management focus you can avoid many of the overly negative reviews you see on here.

Tour of the hotel amenities and grounds
We had the pleasure of visiting the Wyndham today whilst staying with my father who lives close by. We met a very helpful young man called Rashid who gave us a fabulous tour of the hotel. The grounds are stunning and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to staying there soon ☺️

The steelband entertainment!
I was absolutely fascinated by the show this evening. Ishama was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to come back again next year to watch her perform again. And I’ll definitely recommend the Pozitive Vybrationz Steelband to my friends. Amazing! And Clive is amazing; even playing under the pan. Awesome show!! Whole team was amazing.

An odd place
This hotel is such a strange place. It feels like it has been built by someone who wants to own a hotel but has absolutely no idea about what people want from a hotel or indeed how to run one. First the good stuff. The rooms are immaculate and you can’t really fault them. The finish is to a high standard. The food & drink is perfectly acceptable but nothing to write home about. It’s perfectly nice sitting by the pool or on your private balcony. But. Someone has spent an awful lot of money on this place but they haven’t got the basics right. If the story of this hotel could be told in a single sentence it would be this: “Molton Brown toiletries but no running hot water”. The last two times I’ve visited I’ve had either cold showers. The WiFi is patchy at best. Some days there are water & towels at the gym and some days there aren’t. Someone was trapped in the lift for an hour the last time I was here because no one was answering the alarm button. The lift buttons are on at angles… so instead of pressing “up” you press a button which suggests you are going to go sideways. If the attention to detail is this poor, it does make you wonder what else they have missed or ignored. As a whole the entire complex is pretty soulless. It’s a massive palace of white walls and no character. There’s barely a single piece of artwork anywhere to be seen. The staff are perfectly polite but they aren’t what I’d call happy. It feels like they don’t really want to be here. There’s no enthusiasm at all. It’s one of the oddest places I’ve ever stayed at. It doesn’t really know what it wants to be. And it needs a GM to come in and relentlessly focus on the detail and set out a vision of what this hotel is meant to be and who it’s meant to be for. If that doesn’t happen someone is going to lose an awful lot of money - if making money was even the point in the first place.
