Meh
When we booked our trip the resort website advertised this location as having "Kauai's only heated salt-water lazy river". False (it wasn't heated) false (it is a chlorine pool) and false (not a river, no flow - not that flow would matter because they don't allow flotation devices anyway). So please lower your expectations of what a "river" feature at a resort might have to offer. The website description has since changed to merely "heated river pool" which is still false because it probably won't be heated and the "river" has no flow. For the first 2 days we were there, you never saw an adult in the pool, it was just too cold. We complained to several different people about the false advertising and got completely different answers from everyone we engaged on the topic. Lots of finger pointing and outright lies. The pool is operated by the HOA so the hotel people disclaim any responsibility. Piecing out all the misinformation and tying together the things that seemed to make sense: they do have a pool heater but choose not to run it most of the time because of the expense - so be prepared to complain (to the right people) if you want to get it turned on. The ocean water temp was always warmer than the pool water temp during our November stay.

The best place to stay on Kauai!
This was the best facility we have stayed at on Kauai during our many visits! The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The grounds, pool and spas were extremely clean. The condo was immaculate and very well situated. We will definitely be staying there again in the future!

DO NOT STAY HERE
Waipouli doesn't care. we liked the resort until we went to try and bbq on the provided ones in the pool area and the bbq exploded on my mom and grandma. the access panel flew off and burned my moms leg along with the flames burning them and my foot along with my grandma as well. the resort security called ems and we were treated but after the security was rude and unsympathetic. they acted like it wasn't a big deal and said that it was on us since we refused medical care which is not true since they were treated on scene. the lack of care from staff was just so unprofessional and we have been trying to talk to someone and just keep getting the run around. We were contacted by Candace the owner and she doesn't seem to think it's that big of a deal either. no one has even tried to make sure we are okay. we have excursions planned and tons of money into this trip which now we won't be able to enjoy tahnks to Waipouli and the carelessness of their staff. would not recommend going.

Perfect Stay
We adored every minute of our 7 night stay. Shopping and restaurants very close by and equidistance from the North and South shores making it very easy to explore the entire island. We booked directly through Outrigger and had a first floor courtyard view room-very spacious, comfortable, great patio. Nice to have the full kitchen and in-room laundry. Beach is non-swimmable but it wasn't an issue and was a great place to watch the sunrise and seal(s) every single morning. Amazing pool and hot tubs. Kiddie pool and slides looked great if you have little ones. We had an issue with our AC and it was taken care of promptly. Excellent staff. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent
Excellent place to stay pool and beach are right there. Note this is not a swimming beach but there usually are seals that come on to it to visit. East side of the island so easy access to both N & S
