Great stay for a 2nd year in a row
Great stay 2nd year in a row! Came here for our honeymoon and again this time for our anniversary. We arrived pre holiday rush, December 10-18 and had an incredible time. Resort wasn’t too busy and our room overlooking the ocean and the adult pool was quiet and close to everything. The balcony was a perfect spot for breakfast and watching the sunset. Staff were always friendly and said a quick hello or mahalo as we passed. More down to earth vibe then the Four seasons up the street. Close to Island gourmet grocery store is a big plus too!

Titanium Elite: Construction Zone Nightmare
We called 2 weeks before we arrive for our honeymoon. "Is there any construction going on at the property?" -- hotel: a very quick "No". Fast forward 2 weeks, and to our surprise, there is a massive construction zone right in the front of the property. First room, overlooks a loading dock. Second room has a huge 8ft tall construction wall, and legit bulldozer outside of the patio. You couldn't make this up if you tried... it would be comical if I didn't save 600K points for this once in a lifetime experience. To make it even worse - they tried to swindle an additional **$900 a night** (on top of 100K/night in points) when I refused the room with construction outside the door. It almost felt criminal asking for $900+100K in points a night, to not have construction or a loading dock outside my window on a honeymoon. I never felt more deceived in the 20+ years I've been staying at Marriott. Never felt more taken advantage of. Immediately left and will NEVER return or recommend this property to anyone. I seriously question why I continue to have any loyalty to the brand after this experience.

Wonderful stay
My husband and I just got back from a 4 night stay at this property. We both really enjoyed our stay. We booked through Costco and had no issues or problems. Would stay here again, no question. We were in building 7 which is down by the end of the property. The hotel is spread out and rooms are on many different levels (a bit confusing at times) but, we had an amazing ocean view from our room. We had breakfast at the Whale's Tale Beach Bar each morning, a walk up and order style place with breakfast and lunch. Very good panini each morning. Starbucks also on property for coffee. The only other place we ate was at the Kapa Bar & Grill (by one of the pools) it was also very good and super casual. Room was nice and seemed updated. Our balcony had a table and 2 chairs (not that comfortable) for seating. Multiple pools to sit at. 1 of which was 18 and over only. Large "kids" pool area with a big slide and a food truck. Walking path along beach area that goes for a long way down the beach past many other properties. Staff was very friendly. We didn't sit on the beach area (which is down the path from property) but it looked nice. We stayed by the pool. It was busy, but not hard to find places to sit at pool or restaurants. The Lulu area is by the kids pool area at very end of property and there are rooms that face it. If you don't want noise at night, I wouldn't recommend that area. One of the days we were there they were having a conference dinner/party in the lulu area that was loud with a band ect. The Shops of Wailea were right out front ofr property so very easy to walk over to shop or for food.

We’ll be back!
Fantastic property, staff and stay! We loved this resort. Traveled here with my wife and two adult children. Stayed in resort view rooms on the 8th floor and was very happy with the room setup, bed comfort, and overall size (450 sq ft). Restaurants were great as was pool service. We mainly used the adults only pool and rented 2 cabanas one day….they were perfect at both sunrise and sunset. Tim at the pool desk was very helpful. Highly recommend you explore the property upon arrival to see where everything is. I liked Whale Tail in the morning for breakfast and the restaurant at the family pool. The slides at the kids pool are wicked fast…be warned :). We did a guided snorkel out last day and highly recommend it. We also snorkeled at Ulua beach adjacent to the property and they had a nice rock jetty that extended about 70 yards into the bay and was nice to snorkel on that. Wailea beach is on the other side of the property but was quite busy given the Grand Wailea sits on that beach as well. I also highly recommend a drive to Peruse Bay about 20-30 minutes away if you want to see a lava rock field(s). In short…great stay and we would definitely return.

Perfection!
We had an amazing stay at the Wailea beach resort. The location is the definetly the high end area of Maui with walkable restaurants and shops nearby. The resort is even better than pictured- super clean with superb service from everyone. Our kids loved the game room that had free arcade games (no need to limit the play) and they loved the movie room where they watched encanto and sat on bean bag chairs. The beaches are close and our favorite part of the whole trip was watching the humbback whales jumping. We were there in January and at anytime you could see whales spouting, jumping, or flipping their tale up... it was so cool! We also saw a sea turtle on two occasions at the tide pools right by the resort. the resort food was very good my favorite was the ahi poke bowl from kappa grill (loved it so much i ordered it twice). We did breakfast on our deck and appreciated that we could push a button and they'd come get our dishes... no walking by dine in trays in the hallways like most resorts. Also we loved the wristband keys to the room.. very smart. We look forward to the next trip here. Shout out to Eric Duff for making our trip extra special!
