Family vacay
I have been to a ton of all inclusive vacations so I do have some experience. We paid quite a bit to be here and it is a 3 star at best. Check in was so chaotic, no one to help you with your bags which is fine but tell me where my room is located. Our rooms are decent but very outdated. No water or anything in the rooms. We brought water bottles but what a pain. No coffee places until 7 am, I am an early riser and no coffee in the rooms. There is a machine but no coffee to use. Bring your own. I was able to book the restaurants but no one else in our party of 8 were able to. You have to do it on the app as soon as you get your room number. There is always something to eat but it's the same food. The snack bar burgers are good with fries. I would compare the food to a 4 star cuba vacay. There is no staff around... one person at each bar. Overall, it was ok but I wouldn't come back.

Great Value for Money
The resort was beautiful and most of the staff was lovely. The quality we got was pretty excellent for the price we paid. The food was decent. The room was very comfortable and the resort accommodated our request to have our family members next door, which made a big difference in our enjoyment of the trip. The place was also family friendly, with a reliable kids’ club. The amenities were excellent, with sports and adventurous options. The restaurant we managed to book was very good. Last but not least, we were not insensitive to the quality of the “house” red, which was an excellent, crowd-pleasing Côtes du Rhône. What could be better: - the food is good but it is very repetitive and the access to the restaurants was very limited, we could only book once in our 7 days. That was a little disappointing. - cleaning is a little approximative, on top of older bathrooms in the rooms. - the entertainment staff (namely the trapeze area) was fairly low energy and not all that pleasant. - safety procedures should be clearer as should be communication in cases of an emergency. We experienced an intense brush fire and while all ended well, it was pretty scary and there was no information (not all staff were aware, even, that some of the buildings had to be evacuated). That being said, I just read another negative review of the place from people who experienced those same brush fires: it’s not the resort’s fault and those people forget that the hotel staff had homes just across the roads… Pretty insensitive, if you ask me. To complain about your Wifi access (which was restored, by the way), when others’ homes are at risk is precious.

Viva Fortuna Resort Nightmare
I usually don't like to leave negative reviews, but after our recent experience at Viva Fortuna Beach in Freeport, Bahamas I think people should know the whole picture before booking. Our group of four families arrived at the resort, only to be met with a cloud of smoke due to nearby fires on the island. We were never given any warning about the smoke or fires. If we had been given that courtesy, we would have cancelled. They told us the fires started the night before we came, but after speaking with many people staying at the resort, we found that was not true. It had been several days at least. What followed was even more disappointing. Upon check-in ( which you will never get in before 3pm even if the rooms are ready ) we realized the resort was running on a generator due to a power outage, and there was no Wi-Fi. We were not told this when we checked in. To make matters worse, we were told that no refunds could be issued and were simply told the situation was “under control.” Unfortunately, it did not feel that way. The staff's response was downright rude, and the guest services desk lady even told us, “At least you don’t have to live here,” when we voiced our concerns about the smoke. Well, no—we don' live there, but we paid a significant amount for this experience and took time off from work, expecting a relaxing vacation. A heads up would have been nice. Her annoyance of our questions was written all over her face as well as reflected in her tone. She successfully made an already frustrating situation even more frustrating. The staff acted like we were inconveniencing them when going to the bar and restaurant, and it seemed like they were irritated to serve us. They also were seemingly out of a lot of what we asked for. We were supposed to get bottled water when checking in, which we did not get and when asking for some, they were even rude about that! We tried to get dinner reservations for anytime that week, but were told everything was booked up. Booked up for our entire time we are there??? How is that okay? We found out, that was the least of our worries though. The next morning, we woke up with sore throats from smoke inhalation, and the smoke was still heavily impacting the resort. Many guests were leaving at this point. We were told to email them to ask about a refund and that they could not do anything for us at the resort. In terms of the accommodations, the room was in poor condition—dirty floors, a disgusting shower, a leaking refrigerator, and beds that felt like sleeping on a rock. The pool was extremely dirty and I would not even step foot in it. The hot tub had no water in it, so obviously that was out of order. The entire resort just felt dirty. All in all, it was a terrible experience that did not reflect the money we spent or the time we took to get there. If the staff were nicer and more understanding of the situation, we wouldn't have been so upset. They did nothing to make the situation better. We ended up booking another hotel and left after just one night. If you’re considering booking here, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a much better and more relaxing experience.

Amazing long beach with soft sand, good food and drink. Don’t wait, just book your next vacation here.
I have been here twice now and will be going a third. Beach is amazing, beautiful sands and lots of room. You aren’t piling on top of each other as there is plenty of beach chairs and room for everyone. I have to say, the Rock show they did was insane. I mean holy fn shhh. Amazing intro then they come out in all black to Marilyn Manson with a synchronized dance routine. Had shivers across my body was truly well done. All the staff and entertainers I have to give 5 stars because of the level of professionalism they displayed throughout my stay. The food, well the reason I didn’t go to Cuba was the food so you get what you pay for. The Bahamas has excellent food probably across all the islands, I’m willing to pay for that and you should too. So, if you’re thinking about going, try it out. You’ll end up loving it I’m sure. Travel safe everyone.

Not good. You get what you pay for!
The food was so bland and boring. Had most of the same things for lunch and dinner with some variety. Even the desserts were very limited and not good. The beach does not look like the pictures. There was so much seaweed, that could easily be cleaned up every day by the resort but that seemed typical of the lack of maintenance from what we experienced in our room, such as cracked floor tiles, poor lighting, our TV was mounted crooked and not a full screen (obviously did not take the time to fix an easy solution). Also, the beer was so watered down that it took quite a few to feel the effects of the alcohol.
