Jul 11, 2025An honest review, and I wish it was good.
This is not a 4 star hotel. I wouldn’t advise staying here. Honestly, you get what you pay for. There is a pipe and infrastructure issue, I came for a family reunion, most of the rooms we were given were dirty, not like, oh, they missed sweeping, I’m talking clumps of hair in the corner of the shower, skid marks in toilets, trash not removed from the rooms, and inoperable bathroom sinks, toilets and showers that won’t drain. We have a party more than 30 with us, and we aren’t all centrally located- we are all in different buildings and this seems to be a problem all over the resort, in multiple rooms and on multiple floors. It is very sad because the staff that pretty much run the resort- the restaurants, bars, and entertainment are wonderful! So kind, great service and create an enjoyable ambiance- I would hate to ruin the financial aspect for them, because they are truly who made this experience tolerable, they are great! However, Wyndham, you should be ashamed of yourselves. It’s clear that this is just an opportunity to make as much as you can without putting the money back into the establishment or ensuring that your guest who travel from far have a sanitary, safe, reliable stay. I have been pretty disappointed with this experience, I needed to go to the front desk at-least twice a day to get my room key to work (yes, I kept it away from my phone so it wouldn’t demagnetize). The group planning and the hotel are different and upon arrival it was chaos as no one was aware of what was going on. I have emails about arrangements, rooms, and ADA accommodations that weren’t available upon arrival and still aren’t available (I am still here- I will eat the cost on my last night just to leave early). It’s been quite the experience, however, if you’re looking for a vacation and to have a clean room, working essential amenities (like a bathroom), and room keys that work, I’d recommend spending the extra $10, $25, $50 more to stay somewhere else. There are about 10 people who work here who saved this experience for me, honestly they have been so great, and it’s unfortunate for great people to work under these conditions because it’s not their fault how this property is ran and managed. Wyndham, I recommend you get someone out here to turn this property around- or just continue to scam and make a quick buck off of the dated website photos and the fact that once you have baited people here, the money is already in your hand. Sad, very, very sad. I would not recommend this property and I hope the great people who do work here get placed with better opportunities because they deserve it. ❤️

Our stay at Viva Tangerine was wonderful, and we want to especially thank the amazing team at Viva Mexico for making our visit extra special. There are many hardworking staff members at this resort, but Wikairy, Oscaly, Anibal, and Orlando truly stood out. Your kindness, care, and dedication made us feel right at home, even after long and busy days. We can’t thank you enough for going above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Thank you so much for everything! You’re the heart of what makes this place great.

Be Warned!!!
Be warned! I could write a lengthy review, but the easiest way to critique the Viva Tangerine is to say the I was scheduled to be there for 1 week during June 2025. I could only put up with it for 3 nights. It was so bad I had to leave. Luckily I moved to the Iberostar Costa Dorado and was able to salvage my birthday vacation with an amazing stay at a new resort. It was the difference between night and day. Proceed at your own caution at the Viva Tangerine.
