Reading week trip
Very lovely reading week trip with friends. The beach was clean and the water was accessible for swimming despite the wind. There were many places to relax and to read, to take a drink to in the sun and the shade. There were several activities to get involved in, and plenty of opportunities to rest. The food at the buffet was pleasantly surprising, incredibly diverse options and very delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the balcony had a lovely view; you could hear the birds singing beautifully in the morning. The staff were very enthusiastic and engaging. They were incredibly helpful in organizing a surprise birthday cake and singing happy birthday with music for a friend, in booking reservations, and in answering questions about excursions and about the resort. The bartenders were super kind, patient, attentive and talented. At the beach, we were able to boogie board throughout the day and the staff there were informative and fun, further making the ocean accessible. The gym was a good space to go to in the mornings despite being a bit humid, and the music and general amenities at the resort were extensive. A special thank you to Albert, El Fenomeno, and Black Lion for making this a wonderful experience-We definitely hope to come back again!

Come to Viva Tangerine to see Nordy and Blondi
Nordy and Blondi and the Cafe Cafe girl several of the wait staff were fabulous!!! Nordy was highly attentive, came out to our chairs at the pool several times and kept our drinks full Blondi has a big job roving between the pool and sea and does a wonderful job keeping alert and friendly The entertainment crew is cute but really don’t connect as much as the should Food is mostly good, deserts are not worth getting…not sure if the are catering to the European taste but nothing exciting. I come for the beach view and my friends, we do have a blast here and don’t really have to lift a finger, and to me that’s what vacation is all about, I don’t ever go hungry so I can’t fuss too much.

Fine but will not come back
It was fine, but not outstanding. Very clean rooms and grounds , nice beach (huuuuge waves-beware!). A bit on the small side, so very quiet. Food below (well below ) average for Dominican. Good if you want to loose weight, I guess? 🤣 I saw many repeat visitors, mostly kite surfers. Personally I don’t think I will be back.

AWFUL ! The staff is not accommodating and the restaurants are booked but when you go inside. they are empty.
This is NOT a 4.5 star hotel. It’s barely a 3! It is old and dilapidated. It has no room service. Only 1 bar that you must stand in a long line to get a drink. No waitstaff by the pool or beach. The food at the buffet was subpar. You have to negotiate (&tip) guest services to get a reservation for a la carte and when I arrived the restaurant wasn’t even full (9people including myself). The 24 hour snack bar was food they put out early and it sat all day I had to insist on fresh nachos. You have to sit and eat it in the cafe. I ate my meals at local restaurants on the beach that wasn’t apart of the inclusion. Only 1 pool which surprisingly was clean. If you don’t get up at dawn to get on the line to get a clean towel , they will go in the bin shake 1 out and try to give you a used one. Very unsanitary!!! There are a plethora of cats EVERYWHERE!! The very worst part of my experience is there was no hot water. I took cold showers every single day. This turned out to be the WORST vacation ever! I’ll NEVER go to any of there numerous locations, and I will tell my family, friends, travel agents and strangers to stay far away from here!!!!

Moldy smelling room
The room we were given had no working air conditioner and the room was musty, hot, and had a moldy smell. Due to my partner's allergies to mold and no AC, we requested to be moved. After much convincing, begging, pleading and being told we would have to wait until the next day to speak to someone about our concerns, we were moved to another room in the same building. I requested a room in the renovated building due to the concerns of mold and was told "no can do". The front desk did not seem concerned about our worries. They moved us to another room (in the same building) and when we went to see it, we were grateful the AC was working, but the room had an extraordinarily strong potent smell. We were told that was our only choice. For the week we were there, the smell did not go away and every time you entered our room, the smell was strong, musty, and clearly moldy. Halfway through the week, my partner was concerned as he started to feel wheezy and congested and with an allergy to mold, this was a concern. We did the best we could with the circumstances and tried to stay out of our room as much as possible. On the second to last day, he was extremely wheezy and congested coughing up flehm from the mold. On the flight home, he was coughing and struggled to take deep breaths. This experience has been not only emotionally and physically exhausting, but it is also not forgivable. Our trip of relaxation turned into a stressful time every time we entered a room that placed our health at risk.
