Great family vacation
Great place all around. Staff was friendly and attentive. It's true the rooms are a little dated, but that didn't impact our trip at all. Hidden gem: Jorge the mixologist! We didn't find him the first couple days, but enjoyed his mojitos and margaritas, then made my 9yo daughter's trip with a coconut drink at the end!

Relax—Relax. You are home 🦚
Enjoyed a beautiful relaxing 5 wks at Velas Vallarta. Visiting with friends & staff we see yearly at the pool is a great joy. Happy to see new upgrades in the units. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Abigayl, Miquel, Mildred, Christina, Jacinto, Erik, Carlos, Christian, Ivan, Angel, Marciono and Juan Carlos and many many more great staff. Thank you

Somewhere between ok and average.
Just visited for 5 days over spring break. Upon arrival we were underwhelmed with the property. It is older, the lobby is barren, and doesn’t give you any sense of “wow we are on vacation” feel. After that I’d say it was “ok”. Feels a bit more like a budget style all inclusive. If you didn’t pay much, you’d be happy and ok with the lack of amenities, below average food, and unenthusiastic service. Overall I was shocked this was rated “Best of the Best” and rated so highly. These ratings are misleading. Pros: Great pool, and nice swim able beach. The Andrea restaurant is pretty good and a much better option than the beach restaurant Ribera. Cons: No coffee shop, no bar (other than the pool bar). Only two restaurants to choose from. Buffet food at both is below average, and menu items are hit and miss. Lacks amenities you will find in most high end resorts. The staff is also not very attentive. Generally you need to track someone down and ask for exactly what you want. If you don’t raise your hand, you will be overlooked.

Another Lovely Stay At Velas Vallarta
This was our 4th stay at your beautiful resort and were as usual welcomed by Jaiker on check in, he always remembers us. Our deluxe 1 bedroom suite 3302 was nicely located and we noticed a few upgrades to the room which is nice. Room was always well stocked and cleaned each day by our friendly maid Concepcion. One thing we’re not keen on is the step in bathtub shower. Service is always first class at your hotel and at Andrea Restaurant Mildred immediately recognized us and greeted us warmly each day. Both Angels are really good and the older Angel also greeted us warmly each day. All of the staff in that restaurant gave excellent service. Christina at La Ribera Restaurant always went out of her way to ensure everything was OK. Bell man Carlos is always good. The entertainment that we saw was very good, we always enjoy the female Mariachi Band and of course the Spanish coffee performance at La Ribera. One thing we would like to point out is that for the first time in all of our visits it was really hard to get a sun bed in the shade around any of the pools. Towels would be placed then left for hours with no occupancy, there were a few signs left on beds and tables but they seemed to be thrown under beds or in the bushes. If you can’t beat them join them! Maybe more umbrellas would help. On other visits this didn’t seem to be a problem this time it wasn’t so relaxing. We return to your resort as it is one of the best we have stayed in Puerto Vallarta, even though one of the more expensive we have stayed in. Muchas gracias, Lynn & Mike

Mixology bartender
Look for the mixology cart- he pops up all aroumd the property, mistlu by the different pools, and at special events. We did a class, and he taught me a new adult beverage to make . Jorge the mixoligist, is so great! Such a happy and helpful "mobile bartender" so much fun. Thank you Jorge! We Loved the experience
