    Not going back

    Things have changed,not the same. Woke up to water leaking out of ceiling on 2 separate nights from clogged air-conditioning. Water all over floor at 3am. Never even offered another room or upgrade.Found out points earned from earlier stays were usable on spa treatment unless you tell spa to use points when booking.Also told points were expiring end of year and new system taking over. We asked for some compensation for trouble and all we were offered was $8 off a bottle of wine we bought at dinner. Not going back .Booked atelier resort and secrects Moxche resort hopefully we will find another resort that value repeat clients

    Something has changed

    This was our third time to this resort and stayed in the Emerald Suites for eight days. We have been traveling to the Myan Riviera since 2001 and staying at a different resort each year, except this one. I am into the detail, since that is what I did prior to retirement, and everything gets rated. Two years ago, we rated it 'Excellent' but something has changed. I will list a few notables... Pros; Grilled octopus at La Hacienda, the whole fish at Mar Tierra and the Braised Rib at L'Olivo were outstanding. The breakfast and lunch selections at Le Marche' were also outstanding. The fire show is not to be missed. Esmiralda at Mar Tierra remembered me after the second day and knew exactly how I needed my two coffees to go every morning. She was always pleasant with a smile and was patient as I practiced my Spanish with her. Diego and Michael at the quiet side pool bar had me pegged after day one and knew my 'usuals'. They exposed me to a couple of drinks that can make you blush when you order them - both very entertaining people. The resort is very eco-friendly and extra points for that. The environment of this place is a HUGE draw. Very lush and far from looking like a concrete tarmac. From poolside you cannot see buildings, only greenery. Cons; The resort is showing some signs of wear in areas i.e. The wood columns at the beach bar are very scuffed up and in need of refinishing. As well as the handrails on the balconies at the Emeral Suites. The make-up mirror in our room was just barely fastened to the wall and we were waiting for it to fall. I waited for the maid or turn down service to report it - never happened. The onion soup at L'alsace has a very unique presentation. However, onion soup needs to have onions in it. Our last visit here, this soup was outstanding this time OK at best. This was a theme throughout the dining experience this trip. We met numerous folks from Canada and the US who felt exactly the same way - something has changed in the dinner restaurants. I would rate our entire dining experience above average but not excellent as we did two years ago. Speaking of the dining experience, in order to dine at Habachi, you need to make a reservation. They only accept reservations for that day and start taking them at 10 am. By 10:10 am they are booked for that evening. At every other resort we have stayed at, we made reservations for the entire week on the day that we arrived. ALL music stops around the campus at 8:45 pm to get folks to go to the evening entertainment at 9 pm. I heard nothing but complaints from folks that did not want to go to the 'show' but rather listen to the piano at Don Miguel or the live music at the Plaza Espana. I will stop here; you get the drift. A little lengthy, but the detail matters. The management cannot fix something unless they know that it is broken. I hope that someone reads this and addresses these types of details to get it back to "Excellent" as they are easy fixes. Overall, we will probably be back.

    Best hospitality

    I just love the hospitality and service here. They really try to make things right if there are issues. This is my favorite resort! This was our 2nd time going and we will definitely be back again!

    Great friend trip!

    This resort was amazing! It had a little bit of everything — we could easily find quiet and relaxation, as well as fun and activities, along with great food and drinks. The resort was very clean and everyone was so nice. The bartenders, especially Angel, and the activities team at the pool were all fantastic! Would definitely return.

    Place is amazing great staff meals are amazing if you get a chance meet Dora she is awesome. The weather was hot. Pool was fun and very large. Our room was very clean every day! The hospitality top notch and the staff was amazing here as always. Everybody treats you like royalty. Thank you for the great time.
