We Loved our stay
We loved everything about this resort. The rooms are spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel and grounds are spotless. The staff were very attentive starting with Pedro welcoming us with a glass of champagne. When we went down to the beach with our towels, a staff member met us, took our towels and once we picked out where we wanted to sit he made sure the chairs were clean and put our towels down for us. Then made sure we had an umbrella. The pools are stunning and heated. We had no trouble getting loungers at the pool. They have signs on them saying you cannot “reserve” them by putting a towel on them. Not everyone respected this. When you leave the resort by taxi they record which taxi and where you are going just in case. Thank goodness for me as I left my prescription sunglasses in one. I called the resort as soon as I realized and by the time we got back they already had them. We only ate lunches at the resort as there are many great places to eat in the marina. What we did have was really good. You must try the shrimp burrito…nummy. To deal with pigeons and blackbirds, they bring in a falconer who walks around with a hawk on his arm and when the birds see him, they are long gone. He never lets the hawk go, he doesn’t have to. We thought that was great. The marina is a short walk away and has lots to see. On Thursdays there is a huge market at the marina. Lots and lots of food options. We will definitely go back

We will be back.
We have stayed at this same location for at least half a dozen other times and every time has been wonderful. The staff is so helpful and we appreciate the constant upgrades to the facility. want to especially mention Adriana and Pedro. All of the staff is helpful, but these two especially go over the top.

Hotel well past it’s prime, better options available
We have stayed here 12 times since November, 2015. When we first came in 2015 what attracted us were the rate, location, pool area and grounds. The pool and grounds are about as good as ten years ago, but you can see some signs of age. Inside the hotel is a different matter. The facility is becoming deeply aged and the 2022-2025 very light remodel has done nothing to help. It needs a complete closure of the hotel, top to bottom gut out and rebuild to make it competitive with other PV / Nayarit hotel options. The shortcomings are too numerous to list. Lots of happy memories here, bon voyage, but we will not be back.

Rundown property and negative staff who do not care about the guests
Terrible service. The bar staff and waiters were all rude. We were supposed to all have all inclusive but were told we couldn’t have things even though we had paperwork that said we could. Property is run down and not safe- big trip hazards, duct tape holding things together. Iguanas pooping in the pool constantly and trash by pool chairs from overnight. Would NOT stay here- instead go to the Marriott a few doors down where staff much more pleasant and property is beautiful. This is not what I would expect from a Westin property.

Back to the Marriott next time
7th visit to Puerto Vallarta. Being platinum we thought we'd change from our usual Marriott and give Westin a try. Bad idea! Took 1 1/2 hour to check-in. Upgraded to a large room with full ocean view but room 810 was in need of a rehab. Out of our 7 nights we had 2 with water issues. First brown water then No water. Entire resort needs an upgrade. The pool chairs were the best ever. Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was the delicious = good variety of everything including daily changes.
