    Another solid stay at this icon

    Another stay for us at the Westin Rome. This was a four night stay, booked on points, for my wife, daughter and myself. I applied four of the nightly upgrade awards to my reservation that I receive with my Bonvoy(ed) Titanium status and the upgrade cleared from a Deluxe King to a Grand Luxe King Suite. I added a rollaway for my daughter which was set up in the separate sitting room upon our arrival. We had room 543; I don't know that we have had this exact same room before but we've had this room (layout) before. It provides a ton of space. The room is nice and the bathroom is large. There is just a full bathroom in this room type. We were offered late checkout at check in and took the buffet each day. The breakfast was good, with cook to order eggs and a ton of self serve food options. We ate lunch in the restaurant and dinner in the bar/cafe one time each. Each time had good service and the food was very good. I think this is my sixth stay at this hotel in the last ~20 years and I don't know that I see much having been changed in the rooms, except for bedding and the TV. I'm not saying that things need to be changed necessarily, but they certainly haven't done dramatic updates to this property. My first stay here was when the hotel was still a Starwood, and the hotel has always done a great job of honoring the loyalty program benefits. For this trip, this was not our first choice of hotels but the trip was short notice and this was open (and reasonably priced from a points perspective). I'd not hesitate to stay here again, but there are some newer properties I'd like to try out.

    The Westin Excelsior, Rome

    The Westin Excelsior in Rome is nothing less than five stars. Our room was spectacular with views of the city from the balcony. The staff was very friendly, the hotel and the hotel room were super clean, and the lobby area was comfortable to sit in. The coffee bar in the morning was plus.

    Excellent Hotel - Reasonable Price

    We had an exceptional stay at the Westin Excelsior! The gracious staff was always there to assist in any way we needed. This hotel is a model for what other high-end hotels should strive for in the way of elegance, customer support, and amenities.

    Old World Charm with Topnotch Service

    Stepping into this historic hotel transports you back in time - back to the glory days of a bygone "la dolce vita" era and I meant it in a good way. It has tons of history and yet it has all the modern amenities to ensure guests of a comfortable stay. Our first interaction was at the Front Desk. A big shoutout to Riccardo who gave upgraded our room to a grand deluxe with a large balcony overlooking Via Veneto. It made a world of difference since we were here for over a week. A room service cart with a bottle of sparkling wine and cookies was wheeled in soon after we entered our room. How's that for a welcome! Customer service was topnotch - from the porters who hailed us our taxis and checked the weather, the room service staff who brought us breakfast in the morning, housekeepers who kept the room immaculately clean ... 5 stars to everyone! They were all friendly, attentive and seem genuinely happy to be there. It reflects in their service. Having complimentary coffee (or tea) brought to our room every single day is such a lovely perk! And so is the nightly turndown service. The wide selection of options in their in-room dining menu is rather impressive. There is something for everyone with fresh, seasonal ingredients at the core. Loved the French toast with beautiful fruit garnishes and Lavazza cappuccino to start the day. We were hooked! Needless to say, the Westin Excelsior exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to return. Grazie a tutti! Alla prossima, :)

    Excellent Excelsior

    We spent 4 Marvelous days at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome Italy From the moment our Taxi arrived at the Excelsior, We knew we had chosen the Perfect Hotel for our stay in Rome We were checked in by Pierpaolo who took the time to escort us to our Suite And what a glorious Suite it was Everything you would want in a 5 no 7 Star Hotel I must mention the Housekeeping they come not once but twice a day A luxury few Hotels offer these days But they do at the Excelsior Hotel We had delicious breakfasts at Doneys Restaurant Giovanna greeted us She remembered our names despite seeing hundreds of guests a day Amazing But Amazing describes the Mangement and Staff of this Wonderful Hotel Excels
