Helumoa Playground and Keiki Pool
A Waikiki beachfront extravaganza beckons both the young and the young at heart. The Helumoa Playground features two fresh water swimming pools, a 15-foot high by 70-foot long water slide, two large whirlpool spas with sweeping views of Waikiki Beach, an interactive fountain area for kids, fun and creative food and beverage, water chaise lounges, and a pool hut where guests may borrow towels and purchase pool goods including sun products, inflatable floatation devices and toys. I absolutely loved this beautiful historical hotel! I stayed in the historic wing king room and thought it was spacious and with tall ceilings and so much character. Comfortable bed, smallish bathroom but updated nicely. Nice towels, wonderful lei greeting upon arrival. The service at Mai Tai was really slow, the Bakery was super fast. Location is great, nice part of the beach. Everyone was very nice and especially my pool attendant at the smaller pool, he was wonderful! I will definitely stay here again!

If you enjoy standing in line, this is the hotel for you. We stood in line for breakfast, dinner, to check in and to check out. The service in restaurants is also a struggle. Our upgraded room was small and outdated. Having got that off my chest, I’d like to say something positive. This is an historic hotel with beautiful public areas and we did enjoy staying here. Another plus is you can use the facilities at its sister hotels - the Sheraton and the Surfrider - and we spent a lot of time there as they seemed to operate more efficiently.

Best stay ever thanks to Elsa, The Royal Hawaiian Queen! Hospitality, kindness and love always win!
I stayed at The Royal Hawaiian for the first time and I must say it definitely exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived up until my departure. I was greeted with a Lei and had such a smooth and seamless check-in. I arrived early and my room was ready. My favorite, and definitely the best, part of the stay was definitely my house keeper, Elsa! the first morning I walked out of my room she greeted me in the hall and from that moment on, anything I needed Elsa made sure it was there for me when I returned. It got to the point where I didn’t even have to say anything she was on it! Elsa was so kind, and hospitable. I’ve stayed in many hotels and resorts around the world (including La Mamounia in Marrakesh) and I’ve never felt such amazing hospitality as I did with Elsa at The Royal Hawaiian. Kind, loving, hospitable, I mean even my sister and friends that weren’t in Hawaii with me knew about Elsa. I had a friend stay with me for the weekend and she also loved Elsa. Elsa made me feel so welcomed and gave me a feeling of belonging. I came to Hawaii to escape the wildfires in LA and Elsa’s warmth made my stay just so much more memorable. I will never forget Elsa and wish to return to The Royal Hawaiian while she is still here (next time need to bring my family)! Elsa is a gem and I am a big believer in nothing happens on accident. It’s not an accident Elsa was here during my stay. She was my angel and looking after me. I’ll never forget you Elsa and everything you did for me. You filled my trip with LOVE. I hope you get to read this and know that you played a vital role in making this my most memorable visit to Hawaii yet. The Royal Hawaiian is blessed to have you and I’m truly grateful to have had this experience. I can’t wait to come back with more friends and family. Check out the picture of the beautiful heart she left in my room!! Gosh, I miss her!

WEEKEND AT THE ROYAL HAWAIIAN
What an incredible weekend. We stayed to celebrate loved ones, and the property delivered on all accounts. Over 100+ guests flew in to celebrate a 10 year wedding anniversary. Everything from check in to the cafe to the event was amazing. Staff were warm and welcoming, greeting us every day with our names and smiles. No request was too large and they literally though t of everything. Our rooms were incredble, spa services were top notch and the Chefs and culinary teams really outdid themselves. We loved it.

Enjoyed the luxury!
These are luxury accommodations and not the best options for those looking for a bargain. We arranged our beach umbrella and chairs before my husband and I arrived for under $80 per day. Our daily breakfast choice included in the price was a number of styles of eggs benedict plus fresh Hawaiian juice. Drinks at the palapa bar were expensive, but a heavy pour of alcohol. We had a garden view and enjoyed walking out into the lush landscaping every day. Our bargain was to purchase pineapple wine at an ABC store for under $20 / bottle. It was a wonderful get away from the cold Colorado winter!
