Way overpriced and expected much more.

Shower needed to run for 5 min to get hot water. Halls and elevators were dirty. The room floors seemed dirty. Overall for $900 a night way overpriced for what you got. TV no channel menu or streaming. Beach and pool were nice but will stay somewhere else next time. Left all day and no room cleaning.

Mostly good, a few negatives, but overall made our trip worth it.

We stayed for four nights at the beginning of February 2025. First the negatives: it’s very expensive, there was some deferred maintenance in our room and the restaurant was just OK. However, with those things said, staying at The Reach is absolutely what saved our trip. It has a natural beach, and the pool is very nice. I can’t stress enough how nice staying on the beach was. If we had been staying in-land and had to visit the public beaches, it really wouldn’t have been fun. It’s away from all of the craziness of Duval Street and the area feels very safe. The concierge service in the hotel is great. They were incredibly helpful in booking activities and directing us to places when we asked for it. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. One criticism I might offer is that the gates into and out of the resort are not locked and you can just walk through. I’d probably never want to visit Key West again, but if I did, The Reach is where I would stay.

    NOT a 4 star property

I booked a three-night stay @Thereachkeywest @Hilton property using @HiltonHonors points as a Diamond level. Due to the location and time of year, it was a significant points charge. Before arrival, I received numerous texts from staff to prepare for my visit with "Let us know what we can do for you". I requested a complimentary upgrade with a response check-in with the front desk upon arrival. At check-in, I was informed an upgrade was not available and was assigned to room 360, which was the greatest distance from all hotel amenities in the back corner of the property and in my observation the worst room in the hotel. When brought to management's attention through their internal text chain and Hilton survey, the response was "Thanks for letting us know". The hotel has a great location, the interior of the room was ok, and the operating staff was wonderful but I was not a valued Diamond level guest once I used my award points. Very disappointing. Be sure you know where your room is before settling in. I am not planning to return.

Would you consider this an upgraded room with a view? I definitely would not.

Vacationers beware the rooms that they call a room with a view is actually rooms with rooftops. If you sit on the sofa in the very corner, you may get a birds iview of the pool area and the beach, but definitely not sitting on the sofa in the middle or in your bed in your bed, you look at other people’s balconies rooftops, and a parking lot. The staff here is very unaccommodating. The manager doesn’t really care to help you. They do not go out of their way for their vacationers and I would never stay here again. They act like they’re doing your favors. We paid for an upgraded room, the girl at the front desk who seemed like she was nice, but not really. Acted like she was doing us a favor and upgrading our room even further because we have a card that gets she actually downgraded us and ruined our stay. It is not only our anniversary we don’t get to get away that often we haven’t had a vacation in two years and they ruined it for us. Just the initial experience here I would rate a two star if that I definitely would not be coming back here ever again, and I urge every vacationer to really think long and hard before staying at this hotel. I am very upset and don’t like the way they’ve treated us. Their management does not believe in Customer Service at all. She acted like I was bothering her and I was complaining about something that I had no right to complain about this is actually my first time complaining about a hotel ever. I’m just really tired of people, taking advantage of people and not doing the job that they’re hired to do. They should refund my difference of a regular room versus a upgraded room with a view and they should offer that but they would never do that. My credit card company even called and said she did not get very much different than I got they should definitely not be a part of the American Express hotel collection. They should be part of the American Express hotel rejection. Sorry for this long winded review but I am very upset. They ruined my anniversary and my time here that I’m coming for a family friends wedding as well. I really wish they cared more about the people that stay at their hotel but I guess that’s why they’re only 3.5 stars which is really being generous for them anyway. The girl that acted like she was giving us a better room than what we paid for that’s on their website. Go check out their website and then look at my pictures and see if those are considered rooms with views the same that they show on their website they wouldn’t dare. Sorry, but this is my opinion. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. Maybe you should experience it for yourself hopefully, you’ll have better luck.

Poor reviews gave pause; not to worry, it was worth it!

Not really sure how some of the reviews here are 1-star. I suppose it’s possible, but… I travel about 30% of the entire year for work. From California to New Jersey; from Seattle to Tampa. I’ve been to Key West over 2 dozen times in the past 25 years, and this was my first stay at The Reach. I had booked it prior to seeing these reviews and was worried… did I make a mistake? Short answer: nope! The room is clean and neat. Nice color palette is much more in line with Key West culture than the tans & beiges you’d encounter in some of the other Hilton properties on Key West. The staff I encountered (first day, I went out of my way to talk to at least four employees) and they were all polite and helpful. Not discounting the input from the 1-star posters, but it seems those potential concerns have been addressed with a certain member, and at least in my room and the first floor areas there were no apparent issues. If there are any changes to this story over the next few days of my stay I’ll update this, but as of now I’m quite happy with the decision to stay here vs other options.
