    The Kahala Is Outstanding

We spent a week at the Kahala Hotel, and must say how pleased we were with our stay. We actually started out at another hotel, and moved here because of the lovely location. We like the quietness, but still are close if you want to be at the heart of the city. We booked a dolphin wing room which we enjoyed. The room was large with all the things you need. The actual room was more like a small suite with a good sized sitting area, desk, and a decent deck. The bathroom was huge and conveniently divided for two people. There were separate areas with large closets, dressing area, and a coffee bar with a fridge. The rooms were very nicely planned out and quiet. On the subject of the dolphins, this seems to be a controversial topic. We did not have an issue and were able to observe the care of these animals right from our deck. We had a package that included breakfast. It was not a buffet! Service was outstanding and the breakfast was frankly my favorite meal. I did take one star off as I felt the other meals could use some improvement. However this iconic hotel was most enjoyable and we would return.

    Awesome front desk and staff

Mr. YUKI, The guy at the front desk was awesome. I arrived at 10:30 AM, check-in is at three. I asked when was the soonest I can check in, he checked availability and my room would not be ready till about two. They held onto my luggage for me and I started to walk around with my small child. 10 minutes later I get a phone call saying that they have a room for me and it ended up being an upgraded room overlooking the ocean and the dolphins. He handed me the keys at about 10:45 AM. I was in complete shock. I was very tired from the flight. I did not sleep the night before so I was very exhausted. I enjoyed the stay at this hotel so much that I already booked another stay in June when my kid is out of school. Whenever I needed something or wanted to ask a question it was taken care of or answered very quickly. The surrounding restaurants here at this hotel are great. This was a very memorable hotel stay for me. Again , big thanks to MR. YUKI

Changes not necessarily for the better

We’ve frequented the Kahala and noticed some changes that we are not too excited about. No more free coffee, now it is out of a machine. No more sashimi at the breakfast buffet. The Plumeria restaurant is no longer open on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Otherwise service was overall great and food was still awesome!
