May 02, 2025Fabulous 7 nights at The Explorean
Hi - I'll get right down to it. Went with a group of 7 (husband, 12-yr-old daughter, my sister and friends). We travel to a different all inclusive resort almost every year. I thought this one might be too good to be true, with including a planned excursion each day, separate restaurant and pool from main resort. Here to say, it does exist and it all was as described... Even better! With having a diverse group of friends it was perfect having the Explorean side of the resort which was low key, relaxed and quiet in the jungle feel with the sound of mockingbirds singing and iguanas running around, and beautifully lit pathways leading to the 2-story bungalows... then being able to quickly cross over to the more lively Fiesta resort (a 5 min or less walk away). We very much enjoyed the daily planned excursions and the fact that they brought towels, snacks, drinks, and lunch on certain days was a nice extra touch. We received a print out on the 1st day of the planned excursions for the week. You can show up or not each day, and most of our group did almost all the excursions. They were (1) bike ride to local cenote (older bikes, but flat ride on one way road most of the way... lovely day!); (2) bus ride to shops in Cozumel and then to beach club on East Side of Island; (3) (I did not go on this, but our friends did and were able to leave a little early and walk back); (4) Buggy drive/tour around island and stops at viewing area and then a beach club where you can purchase drinks/food wade in ocean, and tequila tour at separate place; (5) walk to next door beach club to kayak or paddle board (note only 2 paddle boards and I would highly recommend kayaking anyways!) We had a great time and they provided snacks. We walked back on our own as it was just a 5 min walk; and (6) Snorkeling boat trip - lovely day! They brought tuna sandwiches, drinks of all sort, towels, ceviche and tortilla chips, and Edgar did some on boat salsa/dancing lessons 😊 As for the rest - hard to cover it all! The fish tacos at the grill by the beach) water area are phenomenal! You get 2 in an order and not going to lie... We had them almost every day! You can order them right at the place they make them OR at the buffet and they will deliver. Snorkeling is the BEST at this resort! Make sure you are a strong swimmer or are wearing a life vest/some sort of float when the boats are coming in or going past as they really pull you towards the dock. I was a lifeguard for many years and still struggled here or there when the boats would be going past. But you don't have to go far at all to see the wonderful underwater world there! Right off the steps and there were TONS of beautiful fish and stingrays, eels, crabs, starfish, etc. If you are not a water person... Perfect! Just sit or relax on one of the cabanas above! Restaurants- amazing and delicious! Our favorite was the Asian one. Entertainment - such talent!! Loved watching them! I could say SO much more, but this review is long enough lol Shout out to Christopher the bartender, Jassiel, Ariel and Edgar our daily tour guides and all the other amazing staff!

We booked this resort based on it including daily excursions in the price. This did not disappoint and we really enjoyed them. They range from buggy rides around the island, Bike rides, boat rides with snorkeling and more. Each guest gets a customized plan for the week and everyone we talked to enjoyed their experiences. It is a quieter resort and definitely not a party, but if you are looking for a place to relax and then have 1 planed experience a day it’s the place for you. Food ranged from bland to pretty good at some of the restaurants. Our favorite was the Asian restaurant at Fiesta Americana. The drinks were great also. We breakfast buffet was also surprisingly good if you order from the grill! We also loved our room, it was very spacious! No tv’s but we didn’t mind. Great snorkeling right off the resort. The island is very rocky so there isn’t a natural beach but we didn’t mind at all. The cabanas were always available and there was a pool right near the ocean that we took a lot of advantage of.

Excellent service!
Great service from adventure guides. Especially Jassiel and Ariel. Waiters Dany and Pedrito. Everyone strives to give the best service. The restaurant food very rich and well prepared. Very quiet and quiet rooms. I would return without hesitation

Amazing and unique
The truth is a very incredible and beautiful experience that you have to live.The attention on the part of Jassiel and Nestor makes everything even better, always super attentive, thank you Jassiel for always being on the lookout for Santi. The views are beautiful and snorkeling is a unique experience.
