Mar 30, 2025Don’t book the gospel breakfast they may not turn up!
As it was Mothers Day in UK , we decided to book the gospel breakfast . We have been to Barbados numerous times and have never managed to get up on time . So this time we decided to have an early night and book the breakfast . We did not get confirmation of the booking ,so to avoid disappointment on the day we went to the hotel and confirmed it . We were staying at St Lawrence Gap and a taxi was 45 US dollars each way. When we arrived we gave our name and we were sat near the stage , then within a short time the waitress gave us our bill for breakfast 190bbds . We explained that we were not leaving as we had come to see the singers . She explained that they were not coming due to sickness. I was absolutely gutted ! Compared to other breakfasts that we have had , the breakfast was average . We were upset as we would not have stayed for breakfast had we been notified upon arrival, that the gospel singers were not coming , the waitress said that they were trying to chase them up! What is this trying to chase them up ! When they advertise an event the hotel should have a back up plan or at least give us an option to cancel the breakfast . Another member of staff said the group had , had a car crash. We were then told that they had a breakdown ! ( surely the hotel could have assisted them with travel) The staff appeared indifferent to the fact that we had to spend 180bbds dollars on transport to get to and from the venue. One said rudely “ I turned up for work, it’s not my fault they didn’t” We asked to speak to the manager , who avoided us and kept sending other member of staff up to us , to deal with . My husband went to find the Manager, who then came to our table .After much wrangling the Manager finally agreed to give us a complimentary breakfast . However, my morning was ruined! Don’t book this unless you are prepared for disappointment

Mar 27, 2025Heaven on earth! (Don’t sweat the small stuff!)
Although we experienced a few problems in our room , they were dealt with by the amazing staff and my family shared another amazing week at the Crane! Shout out to Crystal, guest services manager for taking great care of us. Also a shout out to the housekeeping staff at building 2. Most years we have had the amazing Sabrina taking care of us but this year we had another fantastic woman and I am so upset that I do not remember her name. But they all do an amazing job ! Also have to mention Susan at the Carriage house! She is the best! The woman in the coffee shop each morning is a real gem too!!! We love the Crane and Can’t wait to come back every year!

Great place to stay on the eastern shore.
The Crane is an old and beautiful resort with an interesting history. We were impressed by the beautiful foliage on the walkways throughout this large property. It is evident that the owners and staff are working hard to keep up with the repairs. Every area was clean and neat. We were fortunate to have a very nice one bedroom with our own pool and the daily room cleaning by Juanita was good. We were always made to feel welcomed by guest services. Joan and Donna were the best! They arranged taxis, bag pickups, and even sent a bottle of wine to our room to celebrate our anniversary! My only complaints would be there wasn’t always hot water for showering but it was warm enough. They tried to address it but I think it’s a general complaint among most guests. We just tried to go with the flow. Also, there was a lack of umbrellas around the pool areas. Food at the restaurants was very good with the exception of the weekly beach bbq which was subpar. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Higly recommend
I highly recommend the Crane Resort. We stayed there to celebrate an anniversary and birthday. The rooms are great, and all the staff were friendly and efficient. The food in every restaurant was excellent. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily. The pools are clean, and towels were available. The beach view is outstanding, and the accommodations provided by the hotel for those who choose to lie out by the beach are fine.

Perfection! There is nothing else to say.
First time in Barbados and first time in The Crane Resort. Already on arrival you will be warmly welcomed and with the 1st Rum Punch makes you feel right at home. We had a fantastic time and it really couldn't have been better. The room with 110sqm was simply awesome, an entire apartment and that on holiday. Just perfect from the start. We don't really want to leave again. We enjoyed it to the last minute. Many thanks to everyone who made our holiday so perfect 🫶🏼❤️🫶🏼
