Hotel Overview

Blush-pink sand and turquoise water give The Crane Resort a special place in the Caribbean. This lovely historic retreat is located in Barbados, about five miles northeast of Grantley Adams International Airport.

Cherished for its casual luxury and warm hospitality, this splendid beach is protected by a natural coral reef just offshore, and touted as the first resort ever to grace the Caribbean. Glide through crystal waters in one of four sparkling pools, including an infinity-edge design, and an even more unusual version that teeters on the edge of a cliff. Guests will enjoy six swimming pools, two tennis courts, four restaurants, two bars, and a colorful shopping village. Lush coconut groves linger on this gorgeous tropical landscape dusted in rosy sand, boasting cascading pools and the best swimming on the island.

Housing a trio of fantastic dining venues, the hotel retains some of the most delicious menu items in the Caribbean. Dine at L'Azure Restaurant for a tempting range of classic island dinners, fresh seafood and ocean-view seating. Thai and Japanese cuisine unite at Zen Restaurant, offering a succulent sushi bar, private dining options and soothing Tatami, rice-straw crafted rooms.

Kids ages 4-12 will love the Calypso Kids Club. Located within the Crane Village, children will take part in a variety of fun-filled activities such as arts and crafts, movies, magic, and more. Babysitting services are also available.

Enjoy high-ceiling rooms, hardwood floors, and authentic antique furnishings. Relax on enormous four-poster beds carved from mahogany, or for even more luxurious accommodation, spend a night in a magnificent Penthouse Villa, with floor-to-ceiling louvered doors, stone floors, a gourmet kitchen, and extraordinary views of the island. Private Residences are also available, equipped with opulent amenities such as coral stone walls, private plunge pools and all the privacy you can envision.

    Great visit to The Crane.

Just fell short of a perfect score. Positives: Exquisite grounds and facilities. Helpful staff. Convenient parking. Reserve a room with a plunge pool - you won't be disappointed. Needs Improvement: Food and housekeeping services are inconsistent. During our stay, I never received 4 full sets of towels. There was always something missing.

    Quiet Gardening - Quiet Mornings

Very nice and pleasant staff. The suite and kitchenette was fantastic. Good food & restaurant options. Best of all - they use electric leaf blowers - NOT gasoline - hence relatively quiet. Gas powered leaf blowers are the ruin of of many Caribbean resorts.

    Noisy stay at The Crane

We stayed for 3 nights on an extended layover before flying on to Bequia. I am glad it was only 3 nights as the noise of the pneumatic drills echoing over the pool area would have driven us to insanity. The hotel management did send a pre holiday email advising that some areas of the hotel would be closed for refurbishment during our stay but this in no way prepares you for the noise. In my opinion the hotel should be honest with their customers, advising them that there will be significant noise but offer some value in return, either that or close the place whilst you get the work done. - restaurants and food were good - staff were mostly very helpful and nice - great beach - our suite was clean and well decorated - it’s a big hotel with some areas looking neglected

    Friendly , helpful staff

The best compliments go to the friendly staff. Our room was amazing, clean and everything provided . The service in breakfast dining room was awful . No laid tables in indoor dining room for us every morning of 9 we had to go collect cutlery and coffee cups from other tables outside…we asked for coffee some days it took over 30 minutes to arrive. Over an hour waiting for lunch was totally unreasonable. Lots of building work going on.. drilling etc etc as construction site. Kids pool murky. No hot water on some days. Excellent Italian, Zen restaurant food great quality , friendly staff. Disappointing in places but beautiful setting and location
