May 03, 2025The pools and beaches are the best part
Older hotel, mattress and pillow quality aren’t great, but at least all three elevators worked this time! Avoid Chop Stix restaurant unless you like to pay a lot for poor service, small portions, and low quality food. The ocean views from the balcony are beautiful and the rooms are close to the casino.

Great experience with so much to do for the kids and adults. Food is wonderful, if pricey, and staff is very friendly. Love the Atlantis and we will be back again as soon as possible. Beach is great but surf can be rough. Water is so clear and warm

May 02, 2025Go for the Turquoise Water... NOT the Service.
After 15 years, I was excited to return to Atlantis—this time with my young children. We’ve traveled throughout the Caribbean (Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Mexico) and have consistently had positive experiences. Sadly, Atlantis fell far below expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was appalling. At check-in, we were told to “keep checking back” to see if our room was ready because staff “didn’t have time” to notify us. No one explained the layout of the property or the wristband system, and when I asked about kid-friendly dining options, I was told to scan a QR code - zero hospitality. But the most unacceptable moment was when my husband and two young children got trapped in a hot elevator for 45 minutes. He used the emergency button multiple times, but the staff who responded were clearly untrained. They pressed random buttons and had no idea how to resolve the issue. My husband was hung up on repeatedly when asking for help. In the end, he had to pry the doors open with his hands to get them out. When we reported this to the front desk - shaken and concerned that no emergency protocols seemed to be in place - we were met with defensiveness and blame. We were actually told he had traumatized the children. With our room on the 12th floor and kids now terrified of elevators, the only solution offered was a room change to the first floor (which we declined due to the inconvenience of moving everything we had unpacked). Only after contacting Marriott corporate did we receive any sort of compensation - less than the cost of a single night. It felt dismissive and inadequate. While the pools and water park were enjoyable, the overall service across the resort was poor. Questions were met with shrugs, one-word answers, or a finger-point. There seemed to be a general sense of indifference or even resentment among many staff members, which is disheartening for an island that thrives on tourism. Atlantis has the potential to be a magical place, but without a massive improvement in staff training, guest care, and safety protocols, I cannot recommend it to anyone!

The rooms are screaming for renovations. We upgraded and the view saved it. Furnishings, closets and bathroom made it feel like a motel 6. Tiny empty fridge in room - no drinking water and the hydration stations are few and far between. Who wants to walk half a mile for water and it smelled and tasted funky. Load up on bottled water.

needs reno
Was ok, but needs an update. Showing off it's signs of age. Also be careful when booking, the pictures on the web were much better than the actual room we had. Size was correct, but did not look near as nice as pictures when booking. I am sure a renovated or later one is shown in pictures, but not what we received. Regal Suite. Would definitely choose different tower on future visits. It was clean but showing it's age in common areas, rooms, and elevators.
