Don't waste the extra money on the Sun Club!!!
We were at the Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino 6 years ago and enjoyed it so much that my husband and I came back and decided to upgrade to the Sun Club and pay the extra for an Deluxe King Oceanview. I am writing to tell you not to waste your money. This resort is situated in an ideal location and the servers in all the restaurants were all very friendly and welcoming. The food at the buffet was very good with lots of variety and friendly servers, like Ana. The person(s) at the Sun Club bar in Section 8 were excellent and the cleaning staff and maintenance crew always friendly. The people running the Sun Club however, were not. When we first checked in we were told our room was in Section 3. I questioned this because the Sun Club is located in Section 8. We were told by Shavol (^) that only honeymooners got the Deluxe King Oceanview in Section 8. Well we found out later that was not true because we met people, not on their honeymoon, who had such a room in Section 8. (Do they think that people don’t talk to other people on vacation?) Every time I went into the Premium Lounge to ask a question I was always treated like I was intruding on them as they sat behind the computer. I was never greeted with a “Can I help you.” The Premium lounge was never stocked with red wine and when I asked was told they "ran out". I think that Shavol (^) didn't want to get off the computer and go look, and how do you run out of wine at an all inclusive resort??? This happened more than once. I did voice this complaint on social media and Hyatt did get back to me saying someone would address this the next day. This did not happen. Hyatt is definitely not living up the their Mission Statement “We give our guests our full attention every day, always guided by the goal of forging an authentic connection to meet the unique needs of each guest”. There were never enough glasses at the bar and as a wine drinker I was always given my wine in a cup. A small thing but if you are a wine drinker you understand. The one thing we really enjoyed last time was the entertainment. This time it started way too late and often the area it was in was often not accommodating to a large crowd. There were not as many people handling the entertainment as before. The Fire Show, however was EXCELLENT! I am not sure if the decline of the property is because it has been taken over by Hyatt and they are not spending the time or money to replace and fix things up. Our Deluxe King Oceanview had a view of the ocean over the palm trees and was too close to the entertainment so very noisy. The balcony I am sure would be condemned if it were inspected and should be replaced. The workers are constantly cleaning the outside and I believe trying their best but sometimes a bandage isn’t the solution. Hyatt needs to sink more money into this gem. As I stated we were at the Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino 6 years ago and the only difference with the upgrade to a premium Deluxe King Oceanview and Sun Club was I received $200 worth of coupons that could not be used together so were really not worth it, unless you used the spa, and we got to sit in red chairs (although any one could really). The premium lounge was not so special and our room, aside from facing the ocean was comparable to the last one we stayed in. People who spend more want to feel that they are getting more. In this case they don’t.

Wonderful Snorking
We stayed in the Sunclub section building 8. In my humble opinion, Sunclub is worth the extra money and the manager of Sunclub was extremely nice and made my husband's birthday special. We were invited to the manager's cocktail party and met the management staff they are trying to improve the resort. We had a few minor issues but they were corrected so it's hard to complain. The food was fine for resort food, we did not like the Italian restaurant but my husband is Italian background so we are picky. The snorkelling is amazing right off the beach. We never went to the main pool or beach so we did not participate in the daytime entertainment. On three of the nights, the entertainment was excellent but the other nights needed improvement. A saxophone or steel drum playing to recorded music is not my idea of entertainment. The only two negative comments I have is the rooms need updating our sofa was nasty but the room was clean. The other comment is about the fellow guests I do not want to smell your vapes or cigarettes and I do not want to deal with loud drunk people who think everyone wants to hear your conversation or music. I had a lovely time but I will not be returning because there is so much of the world to see.

Great place to relax and snorkel
A wonderful resort located next to Mambo Beach. My understanding is that plans exist to upgrade the facility. It is a great location to snorkel and find sea glass. Also, there is entertainment every evening ranging from music to fire shows. We absolutely intend to return. A special hat tip to Gigi, our UVC rep. She is remarkable and would welcome us with a smile each day. She gave us pointers when touring the island. Also, Rosa from housekeeping was very pleasant as was the bartending crew in the Sun Club. You all have great employees; please forward our appreciation for their efforts.

Mid-range and Mid-age Resort
Mid-range resort and price for Curaçao. The place is getting tired looking and needs some attention. Breakwater for beach a great idea but shoreline is rocky. Food and beverage was very good. Room was comfortable and every place on the resort was within a comfortable walk. Weather was fantastic, sunshine every day.
