Good Place to Stay in PV

My family and I came here for a few days. The resort is located in the hotel zone "Zona Hotelera" and is great for families as there's a good chunk of one of the pools that is 1 to 2 feet deep (very shallow), but great for little kids and we were traveling with a three year old who loves the water, so this was great! We must have gone during low season (mid March) because the hotel was not very busy and when we went to the pool, we easily found lounge chairs. The water was always luke warm and we enjoyed that. The beach is right next to the resort making it easy to walk along the sand, but I would wear sandals or water shoes because it is quite rocky! The resort is also about a 15-20 minute walk from the start of the pier, "El Melecón", which has many shops, places to eat, and art statues; additionally, there are big letters on the pier that spell out "Puerto Vallarta" that make for a nice picture! Around that area is the downtown, with more business and restaurants. The rooms at the hotel were a good size, very clean, had everything we needed, and the majority of the staff went well out of their way to make sure the guests had a good experience. The staff that stood out to us the most were Mariana, who did a great job at being welcoming, funny, and awesome as one of the entertainment staff; Juan "El Pollo Grande" was also very friendly, welcoming, funny, and helped out with vegan dining options; Keyvan was just as great as he was super helpful, courteous, and served us very well during one of our dinners in the buffet- he helped with making vegan modifications to the food as well. Additionally, there was one other staff member, who had glasses, but I do not remember her name, and she was at the desk where one can make restaurant reservations- she was very sweet, friendly, and helpful. The only reason I did not rate it this hotel a five was because my husband and I are vegan and the options could have been better. While we appreciate the buffet restaurant having plant-based milk (almond and soy) and making modifications to the food, I would have preferred that the buffet already have vegan options to begin with so we don't have to ask and wait for a food item to be modified. Suggestions include: serving chilaquiles, beans, potatoes, pastas (which are typically vegan) and have the guests add their cheese separately and/or make them without meat; make rice and other dishes with oils instead of butter (make them dairy-free); have noddles plates with noodles that do not contain egg; and have more variety of cuisines, like asian and mediterranean plates, which often times are vegan (falafel, hummus, sautés with tofu, etc.). Overall, our entire family did enjoy our stay and I would recommend this hotel.

The Maiave Spa - massage therapist RAMONA

We have stayed at The Sheraton Buganvillas every February for several years - and we love it - The rooms, the pool, the view and the staff are all amazing - it is close to the malecon where you can enjoy the restaurants , shopping , outdoor music and a gorgeous view - only about a 20 minute walk . But one of my very favorite amenities is the Maiave' Spa and my favorite massage therapist Ramona . She is the best massage therapist on the planet and I go for many because of a spinal issue . SHE IS VERY THERAPEUTIC AND GIVES AN AMAZING DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE WITHOUT INFLICTING PAIN ..You can have a massage inside the spa, out on the beach or in the cabanas by the time share pool - they are all beautiful locations . Also Ramona is very sweet and humble and works very hard to make her massage experience out of this world - I promise you will NOT be disappointed <3 Linda from Chicago

    Amazing Housekeeping - Maria Ibal

We have been coming to stay at this resort every year for 15 years with our family and stay at the Vacation Club timeshare. This year we brought our 8-month old son and Maria Ibal on the housekeeping staff made our stay a very special one to remember! When she first came to our room, Maria noticed that we tried to put a sheet over a window in our kitchen area to block out the sun for our baby's naps. Maria realized light was still coming in so she proactively called for maintenance to come up to our room to securely tape bath towels over the window which served as perfect blackout shades! Our son slept so much better for his naps after this! Maria also set up a special bed on the pullout couch (with pillow borders for safety) for our son to play on every day and every time she cleaned the kitchen, she made sure to clean out our son's dirty bottles without us even asking to her to do that. She was so kind and caring for our family that we looked forward to seeing her every day! By the end of the trip, our son was reaching out for her and giving her hugs! We've been home for two weeks now and our son is still playing with a little dog Maria made out of a towel for him! We really hope to have Maria next year again. She felt like an extension of our family!

    Wonderful time at the Sheraton

The staff at the Sheraton were amazing! Always friendly, very helpful and gave great service with a smile. The rooms were very clean, comfortable with gorgeous views. We really enjoyed watching the whales from the beach, lounging by the pool and breakfast outside. We also really enjoyed the Fiesta, excellent food!
