Love this place!
This was the nicest resort we have stayed at yet. We loved all the activities and the food was excellent. Beach was perfect! Pools were great. Bernardo was our building concierge and he was very helpful with good advice. We loved doing the activities - especially Erica. We had Adam at the Oceana restaurant and Fernando at El Patio and they were great. We had Daniel as a server at the pool/beach and he was excellent and one of the most hard working people we have ever met. The best bartender was Ervin - he made the drinks perfect every time. He was fun to order drinks from.

Delicious
Endy at El Patio was super. Food was great, service was excellent! She made the experience fun. We tried several dishes and all were fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant and Endy as a server if you come to Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres.

1000/10 Resort!
Literally the best vacation we have ever been on. The resort was beyond gorgeous, but it was the workers that really added to the whole experience. Every one of them were extremely accommodating, with great personalities! We will only book at Secrets resorts in the future.

It only gets better...... it's a great place to call "home"
This was our second trip to Secrets PB. Since June, the resort has only gotten better and better. The landscape is filling in. The staff has found their groove and is providing truly excellent service. The restaurants are much better and are delivering a better experience on all levels. We love the rooms; so contemporary, clean and well appointed and the beds are incredibly comfortable. We will be back and look forward to returning "home" to the staff that has become like family.

Very Nice Resort with the Potential to be Great
We have been to Secrets Akumal and Secrets Maroma multiple times, and we tried Secrets Playa Blanca in October. Overall the resort is very nice. They had been open for 8 months when we visited. Everything was open but there were a few kinks that I think they need to work out for it to be on the level of Akumal and Maroma. Pros • We loved the layout. Everything is easy to find and we loved the central bar. That was a good lively gathering place all day. While we love the lush feeling of Akumal, Playa Balance will be that way after the vegetation has a change to grow. • The preferred club bar is great. It is big and centrally located with lots of seating. • The preferred club pool and beach areas are very nice. • The service was fantastic everywhere. We have been to several all-inclusive resorts in multiple countries, but the service in Mexico is always the best, particularly at Secrets. Our butler Eduardo was amazing! We moved rooms the first night and he was available to assist until 11:00. We was quick to respond to anything that we needed and really went above and beyond without us asking. All the pool and beach attendants were fantastic too. • The lunch food was good. We ate at Oceana, the barefoot grill, and the pop-ups by the pool. • The atmosphere at the restaurants was very nice. Cons • There is a area in the preferred club where they set up snacks throughout the day. We utilized this a lot especially in the afternoons before dinner at Akumal, but the choices of food at Playa Blanca in the lounge was pretty bad. It would be a few pieces of fruit and a cookie or two each day. There is plenty of room for them to do more with the lounge area of the preferred club. • They would not do mixed shots while we were there. Apparently they had an incident a few weeks prior with a guest and stopped all of the mixed shots like mini beers, superman, etc. We always enjoy these type of shots while on vacation and this took away from the beach/pool experience. The oddest thing was that we could still order straight tequila shots, but nothing mixed, If they are trying to maintain a more elegant atmosphere or keep certain guests under control, allowing for the stronger straight shots while limiting the mixed shots doesn’t make any sense. I really hope management reverses this decision. This was very disappointing to us and other guests while we were there. • Our first room had a very strong musty smell. We moved rooms that night and the second room was much better but still had a musty smell sometimes. We eventually figured out that it is the rope that is used for the wall decoration behind the bed. It looks nice, but the rope seems to hold the moisture from the air. We will bring some kind of deodorizer spray when we return. • I did not think the lunch buffet at the World Market was very good. Everything we got there was just ok. • There was an event by the pool one night, but they chose to remove all the chairs by the pool with the swim-up bar for the entire day. I don’t know why they didn’t move the chairs later in the day. It was odd that day not having any chairs by that pool. • They could use a few more palapas on the water side of the beach. There are too many chairs behind the dunes without a view. • Akumal seems to have pop-up options by the pool every day. At Playa Blanca, this was only available for 2 of our 4 days. Overall we had a very good stay at Secrets Playa Blanca. I didn’t address the dinner food because it was fine for us. It wasn’t amazing but we were always able to find something that we liked so I wasn’t sure it this belonged in the pro or con section. We are scheduled to return for a work trip next year, and I hope they improve on a few things before then. It is currently a very nice resort, but it has the potential to be an amazing resort.
