Weddings, children and construction
I’ve been to this resort four times. This was my last trip. The Good: The staff continue to do their best amid some poor management decisions, preferred club overbooking and construction. Special thank you to Julio, Alejandro and Miguel at the Skybar. True professionals who work their butts off. Gloria at the morning Mexican buffet area, such fantastic made to order Mexican dishes. Maria & Diego hostess/host who helped with our Spanish. Some of the food continues to be quite good. Mezes was hands down the best dining experience. Service was relaxed, Evelyn& Martha were excellent wait staff and the food was delivered hot. El patio was also excellent and the hostess and staff were true professionals. Blue Water was a great dining experience, other than the music volume. The Bad Not an adults only resort and getting further from that unfortunately. Dreams has expanded, and so have the number of families. If you have a pool side room, morning till dark you will have yelling, screeching kids (photo). Secrets coffee shop lots of kids even though Dreams has their own. Evening kids activities take place under the Secrets open air lobby bar??? Olio restaurant - had a family in front of us trying to get a table, spent 5 minutes arguing with the hostess (geesh). Construction - condo project going up right next door, cranes, drills, cement trucks, don’t worry you can watch it all from the preferred club pool. The resort is also adding additional rental beach club style areas to the preferred club pool area so you know hammers, circular saws and saw dust floating onto your towels, drinks and food! The Ugly Weddings - this is actually just a wedding venue that provides resort like services. Generally two weddings a night, sometimes three it seemed. I am being quite serious. One venue is behind the lobby bar, music blaring from the wedding and 100 yds away the lobby DJ is trying to compete decibel for decibel. Not a soul in the lobby bar. I don’t know how the bar and check-in staff can work like that. People yelling to one another in Blue Water because the music was so loud. Outside seating at the buffet at 7:30 a.m. Elton John Benny & the Jets! It is not possible to escape at this resort, there is not a single quiet space. There are even speakers on the beach. So EarPods are a must, for kids, construction and dueling resort sound systems. They have failed to replace the cushions on the loungers in the preferred club pool area and the chairs have peeling arm rests. This is the premium location on the resort and you can’t replace a cushion? We think it’s to drive guests into the rental beds. Shameful. Secrets Tides knows how to do a preferred club pool. There was an incident with a guest that had an issue at the pool. Instead of asking the guest to accompany the manager to a separate quiet area the manager and staff attempted to carry out the problem solving in front of the other guests using the space. Eventually some folks got up and left, it was getting so uncomfortable. The management team hear ( pun intended) have made some curious decisions and not for the better. Your money is better spent anywhere else.

Fantastic Holiday!!!
We had a fantastic vacation at Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa. Our family traveled to accompany friends to a wedding being held at the resort. We travelled with a 7 month old baby. You would think this would have provided a lot of challenges. The staff made our experience - even with a baby - seamless! I can't say enough about the staff. We were assigned a Butler Jessica who attended to some interesting needs. A kettle to sterilize baby things being one of them. Nothing seemed to be a problem. A special shout out to the room cleaning staff, the servers at the many wonderful restaurants as well as Martinez, bell boy. There was a little confusion (and stress) with our shuttle at the end of our stay not to mention a huge amount of luggage. Martinez (aka Martin) took us under his wing and made sure everything made it onto the the shuttle including all of us! Thank you from all of us. I will highly recommend Secrets to everyone and can't wait to return!

Decent Punta Mita Spot, but expensive, and you won't get a SUP rental slot
A bit overpriced but fairly great quality. Food and beverage quality was good. I came here for the ocean activities and they only have one SUP reservation per day, with three boards, and you have to compete against hundreds of guests for those 3 slots everyday. You cannot book in advance and they refuse to change the policy. Made the suggestion that there are at least 4 time slots per day before the afternoon winds pick up and they defer to the expertise of the surf shop workers... I've surfed all over the world for 30 years. Hyatt runs the SUPs and a third party rents the surfboards, DO NOT RENT SURFBOARD FROM THEM. They ONLY have very low volume Rusty boards for $60 a day, this is a ripoff and a low quality board. Employees mean well but they don't follow up and implement changes.

Amazing resort, with outstanding food and views!
This was our second visit. The service, food, and resort amenities are amazing, to say the least! The view and sunset from all of the roof top pools makes this one of our favorite resorts. The luxurious feel of the rooms was just icing on top of it all! This is a must for anyone wanting a great getaway!

Whale watching Resort
Sixth time visiting Secrets Bahía Mita. The property continues to improve since opening. This visit they constructed new private cabanas at the preferred club pool. They are large & have a personal pool.Great view in luxury setting. Food was the best ever on this trip, they added a new Italian restaurant on the Dream side by the water park. Food was excellent! We stayed 9 nights & visited all restaurants but El patio, Bordeaux, Blue Water,Portofino & Mezes are our favorites. Special thanks to Chef Nefi, Chef Miriam and Chef Gomez! Love the Beach club pool the food & drinks are amazing David Cornejo Barragan has an amazing team. We think the extra money for preferred club is worth it. The preferred pool allows for an upgraded experience. Martinez & Maria have a very experienced staff of Julio, Alejandro and Miguel. Some of the best on property! Special thanks to UVC staff & Laura Garcia for the special upgraded room!👏🙏 See you all in April!
