Mar 25, 20252 out of 10 only because the workers at the resort really went out of their way to take care of our needs
We booked our trip 3 mths prior specifying evertime one of us was handicapped could not do stairs and so wanted rooms either side by side or Adjoining. With an elevator When we go to resort there was only 1 yes 1 clerk to register all who came off the same flight. By the time it was our turn we were told could not have side by side rooms and not even in same building. We are fuming by this time we called tha resort manager and he did absolutely nothing for us so because it was so late and we also had not had supper we took whatever they gave us and would deal with it the following day well oh my God the room my sister and I were given I would not put my cats in it. The scum on the shower door was so thick could hardly see through the legs for the so called couch was held by cement bricks and the smell of mold was hard to take. We went back down to the desk at 11:30 pm insisting on a much better clean room Apparently there was only 1 room left it required us to go up a very steep hill and 2 flights of stairs. As I mentioned walking is no easy task for me at all. The next morning we had to figure out where the rest of group were so had now need to go down the hill from the previous night by that time I had lost it ad my legs were not going very well.that afternoon my 2 girlfriends went back to the desk really angry by this time and not moving until the had a suitable room with an elevator we finally got something decent and lost part of our trip moving luggage This is what they call a 5 star motel. That was a joke Then on our 4th day at the resort another group informed us tat the resort had a golf cart to take us around on building to the next that just took the cake. We got no apology from desk clerk or not even manager and have me go through all that unnecessary walking and abuse on my legs so people out there do your research ask your travel agent more questions because apparently we did not to get the terrible serve we had .. However all the restaurants were excellent no food allergies or issues at all and restaurant workers were a lot more sensitive to m situation The other frustrating part was this trip had been 10 years in planning as we were there to celebrate our 70th birthdays all 3 of us. What a disappointment

This is our 3rd trip here. We really like it but feel it's just lacking something. The rooms are ok. The pool wasn't full or warm. Yet we had fun. Staff are always pleasant. The food is always good and the drinks are always fresh. The preferred club pool was the only warm pool. The other two were quite cold.

Find a different resort to go to. I've had better experiences at a motel 6 then here. Food is so so. The service was so so. All in all very disappointing for a secrets resort. The pier was great to be picked up for scuba diving. Other than that find another resor

Mar 24, 2025Secrets Cozumel continues to be one of our most favorite places in the world for vacationing.
Secrets Cozumel continues to be one of our most favorite places in the world for vacationing. We usually go down around Valentine’s Day for a nice romantic get-away. We like to go in February to take a break from the cold and gloom of the US Midwest winters. And this is the time of year during the dry season with perfect temperatures. We found Cozumel on a cruise about 15 years ago and have been coming back ever since. After a few cruises to Cozumel, my wife suggested staying on the island. After doing a little research we found Secrets rated overall one of the best resorts on Cozumel. So, we tried it, and we have been returning for several years. Now, we know where to eat for whatever we are hungry for, and what activities are available that we enjoy. We have also got to know many of the amazing staff. The view, the beaches, and many of the staff members are why we come back year after year. For example, Hidi was a young activity director our first year and has grown in her roll and now her son is performing in some of the activities and performances. This year he was a very handsome cupid with his wings and bow helping couples to fall in love all over again on Valentines Day. Hidi continues to be our most favorite person at the resort. She is friendly, outgoing, and always makes us feel welcome and special! Christal at the newer pizza place also provides one of the best meals we have ever eaten on property, and she provides amazing service. Jenny, Rosana and Kenia at the Market café also provides wonderful service, and I could go on about others of the staff. Sure, there are a few that are less than friendly and there are those that act like you are an inconvenience to them at the dining areas. We run into a few of those rude folks some years as well, but try not to let them ruin our experience. You should report those that are rude so the resort can weed them out and make the experience better for everyone. We too have visited more polished resorts that provide more pampering, and where you may not have to deal with the AC not working or running out of hot water or waiting hours for beach towels. But the sunsets viewed from the sky lounge, our wonderful staff friends, coupled with the experience of a long walk on the beautiful beach is why we feel Secrets Cozumel is one of the best vacation spots in the Caribbean. For the adventurous, Cozumel also offers lots of fun activities like a jeep tour of the island, or a snorkeling and diving tour. And we often enjoy a shopping trip into town to buy clothes, leather goods and fun souvenirs. If you like jewelry, Ricky at the Secrets resort jewelry store is always friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a great deal on a beautiful new ring! If you are a couple that likes to take walks along the beach, it is always a good idea to bring water shoes. Although the beaches look white and sandy, they are not made of white sand like you may be accustomed to on the US Siesta Key and Daytona beaches, or Grand Cayman and Punta Cana beaches. But rather Cozumel beaches are mainly crushed coral and seashell fragments. The uniqueness of these beautiful beaches only adds to the allure of Cozumel. We usually take a couple of pair each so one pair can always be drying. And one of the most attractive attributes of Cozumel is the safety factor. In all the years of traveling to Cozumel, we have always felt safe anywhere on the island! We like reading other travelers reviews before traveling to a new place to get helpful information or insight, so we hope you find this review helpful.

Beautiful resort and incredible staff!
This resort is incredibly beautiful! We had a wonderful time as the entertainment team (Arbey, Luz, Edwin, Heydey…just to name a few!) had us engaged in many fun activities. We loved all the entertainment! While all the food was wonderful, we were completely spoiled by the delicious breakfasts…especially for me who has to be gluten free. Having gluten free french toast with a colorful array of fresh fruit was an absolute treat. Captain Rosana, Hostess Kenia, Chef Ricardo and all the wonderful waiters and waitresses of the Market Cafe have our highest regards. Having so many gluten free options for meals helped make my relaxing vacation even more relaxing. I am so grateful.
