Overall not worth it
Pretty dissapointing resort for the price. Check-in took forever, they shove time share BS in your face continously and the food was beyond awful. Positives - the views were amazing, pools and entertainment was pretty good. Service was average. Overall wouldn't recommend to others.

Horrible. We will NOT be back
This place has gone down hill. Arbey was the best thing about this resort. His personality during the pool side entertainment was top notch. Kudos to Arbey. Our rooms stunk like mold and mildew. Slide didn't work. Refrigerator didn't work either

3 Star At The Most
Secrets Aura Cozumel Review (Jan 5-12) As a seasoned Secrets Resorts fan, having visited Montego Bay, Jamaica three times, I was excited to try Cozumel. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The service was exceptional, as I've come to expect from Mexico. However, the resort itself feels dated. Rooms (3/10) show signs of wear, with leaky AC, faulty toilets, and limited storage space. Bring hangers and be prepared to live out of your suitcase! The beach has rocky shores, so pack water shoes. The water is lovely, with plenty of sea life to see. Snorkeling gear is a must. Food was a letdown. Restaurants (4/10) serve cold dishes, regardless of the menu. Beachside eats (wings, quesadillas, burgers) were surprisingly better. Room service (7.5/10) was a highlight. Overall, I'd give Secrets Aura Cozumel 7/10. While the service shines, the resort's age and maintenance issues hold it back. Not worth the price point. If you're a Secrets loyalist, don't let this deter you – other locations are better. Tips: - Bring water shoes and snorkeling gear - Pack hangers and be prepared for limited storage space - Beachside eats are a better bet than restaurants - Room service is a good option Rating Breakdown: - Service: 8/10 - Food: 4/10 - Beach: 6/10 - Room: 3/10 - Overall: 7/10

Thank you Staff!!!
The rooms are what they are, this is a beach resort subject to weather and tourists so if you're looking for a 5 star room this isn't it. That being said, we loved the ocean view from our Preffered Club Ocean View Junior Suite. The room met all our criteria and we spent so little time there it didn't matter. (Pro tip: Tip the cleaning staff daily, you won't regret it and they will meet any special requests quickly and your room will be spotlessly perfect).

The secret is ‘don’t stay here’
we are here in our last day at Secrets Aura Cozumel and are completely flabbergasted and disgusted by the disrepair, lack of service and lack of cleanliness at this resort. This is my fourth time to Secrets Cozumel, but my first time with it being under Hyatts ownership. This used to be a gorgeous high end resort, and now it’s a sad memory. 1. Lack of chairs and towels. I’m sure the hotel knows how many guests it has staying, why is there not enough chairs and towels being supplied. There were elderly guests who had no where to sit around the pool or beach and many having to use their room towels bc they were out at the towel bins. Many of the beach chairs were broken, and when asked a few employees for help they just said ‘I don’t know’ and kept walking. There is a huge open space on the beach for more chairs and definitely more room at the pool. The preferred club loungers are decrepit and full of mold. This is absolutely unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. 2. Restaurants and two to three hour wait times. Again this is not acceptable to have to wait 2-3 hours to get into dinner and only have half the restaurants open. The buffet was a complete joke of selection and had birds eating off the buffet bc no one was attending to it. 3. Check in, why is there only one person there to check guests in when you have full knowledge of what your guest count is going to be? Also I shouldn’t be harassed by the club sales team while I’m waiting over an hour to get check in after a long travel day. An hour to check in is unacceptable. Being told I need I listen to a presentation after I check in is unacceptable. People are tired and hungry and hot. We don’t want a sales pitch. 4. The whole resort is in disrepair. The skybar was advertised as ‘open’, yet all the furniture was gone and how it’s shown in pictures is not as advertised. The tarp tent over the bar is missing, no cushions on the couches and the bathroom sink up there is broken. It started to rain nd no one went up to wipe up the bar or floors which were very slippery. I asked the bartender to wipe off a spot on the bar and he just laughed and shook his head and left it wet. The pools are not cleaned on a regular basis, they are not groomed and full of sand and mold, especially the ‘quiet pool’. There was a tarantula hanging in pool by Bordeaux all day and reported to the bartender, no one came to take care of it until the end of the day at dinner time. No one was attending to the ‘swim up bar’ side of the bar either, only the walk up side. 4. The posts where the hammocks in the water hang were empty the entire five days we were there 5. Service for drinks was inconsistent, different bars had different liquors and even if offered a tip to get a bottle they didn’t care and just shook their head no. The staff literally looked beat and tired and didn’t want to be there. 6. Our room had just been remodeled, which was nice but smaller than we expected and had in the past, and we paid for an ocean view, and ours was quite obstructed. We were told the resort was full, so if that’s the case WHY WERNT THERE MORE CHAIRS?! 7. The food here is absolutely awful. The beef tastes like it came out of the trash and the chicken is cooked so much it’s dry as dirt. The only thing edible was room service ‘cooked to order eggs’ and the pico/chips you could get at the pool. And what’s up with only one place open for lunch is the buffet?!! Or the sad grill that has five choices for food?! Preferred club is a joke here, preferred what, moldy chairs and old rooms? Do better Hyatt, my cats eat better than this hog trough. Overall this place should be advertised as a two star resort at best , and your pictures need to be redone to show the actual condition of the place and that restaurants are not open and you’ll have to wait two to three hours to sit down. This is where all inclusive resorts come to die.
