Would go back
Great little resort with fantastic beaches! The rooms were nice with great air conditioning! Proximity to beach was great! Food could be a bit better, but can’t beat the price! The Myan dinner show was a favorite! Also, snorkeling trip where they pick you up right in front of hotel. We will be going back!!

Overall a great vacation
I booked though Expedia and I was put in a beautiful room that was up on a steep hill and we were also on the 3rd floor and had to climb a bunch of stairs. I felt like I was going to die every time we went to our room. We also had a shower issue that no one ever came to fix so on day 3 we got a new room on the ground floor with a swim out pool (Thank you so much Pablo) made our time there so much more enjoyable. I am not upset about our original room I just know that I need to book on the ground floor from now on. (Lesson learned) The wait staff at the market cafe were so helpful and very nice and attentive. (Don’t forget to tip the staff they work very hard for you to be able to enjoy yourself) The only thing I had a dislike of, was, I couldn’t get ahold of room service, and there 90 min discussion for breakfast on day two turned into a lot longer time than that and we literally had to stand up and leave with out the vouchers. we were done telling them no and them not letting us go. They kept saying they were working on getting our vouchers but kept us waiting. They did chase us out the door and down the stairs to give us the vouchers but at that point we just wanted to start our vacation and didn’t care if we got them or not. Suggestion for anyone going to this, let them know you have plans to meet with friends 2-2.5 hours so you can have an easy way out.

Dreams is good, Market Cafe for breakfast is great.
We stayed at the sister resort, Dreams, but went over to secrets frequently for dining. Overall the food options at Secrets are more numerous and slightly higher quality so I would recommend any adults staying at Dreams to make the short walk to unlock a plethora of other options. Some of the standout restaurants worth visiting are Bordeaux, Gohan, and Oceana, and especially the Market Cafe for breakfast. I want to give a shoutout to the staff of Market Cafe for providing excellent service throughout our weeklong stay. From Rosana the manager and Kenia the host to all of the waitstaff including Mario, Ricardo, Elizabet, Alberto and especially Gaspar, the Market Cafe Team made every effort to provide seamless service and create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Having a nice breakfast with coffee while looking out at the ocean was a great way to start each day. I would also like to give a shoutout to the chef at the omelette station (I didn’t catch her name but she said she was from Yucatán) for making me perfect huevos fritos medios every day. If you are going to Secrets or Dreams, make sure to stop by Market Cafe for breakfast!

2 out of 10 only because the workers at the resort really went out of their way to take care of our needs
We booked our trip 3 mths prior specifying evertime one of us was handicapped could not do stairs and so wanted rooms either side by side or Adjoining. With an elevator When we go to resort there was only 1 yes 1 clerk to register all who came off the same flight. By the time it was our turn we were told could not have side by side rooms and not even in same building. We are fuming by this time we called tha resort manager and he did absolutely nothing for us so because it was so late and we also had not had supper we took whatever they gave us and would deal with it the following day well oh my God the room my sister and I were given I would not put my cats in it. The scum on the shower door was so thick could hardly see through the legs for the so called couch was held by cement bricks and the smell of mold was hard to take. We went back down to the desk at 11:30 pm insisting on a much better clean room Apparently there was only 1 room left it required us to go up a very steep hill and 2 flights of stairs. As I mentioned walking is no easy task for me at all. The next morning we had to figure out where the rest of group were so had now need to go down the hill from the previous night by that time I had lost it ad my legs were not going very well.that afternoon my 2 girlfriends went back to the desk really angry by this time and not moving until the had a suitable room with an elevator we finally got something decent and lost part of our trip moving luggage This is what they call a 5 star motel. That was a joke Then on our 4th day at the resort another group informed us tat the resort had a golf cart to take us around on building to the next that just took the cake. We got no apology from desk clerk or not even manager and have me go through all that unnecessary walking and abuse on my legs so people out there do your research ask your travel agent more questions because apparently we did not to get the terrible serve we had .. However all the restaurants were excellent no food allergies or issues at all and restaurant workers were a lot more sensitive to m situation The other frustrating part was this trip had been 10 years in planning as we were there to celebrate our 70th birthdays all 3 of us. What a disappointment

Bed bugs - avoid this place
We stayed in a preferred room and it had bed bugs. The bugs bit all over my legs and arms leading to painful welts. We were told that we were “not allowed to say it is bed bugs” unless we were inspected by their medical staff and they deem it as bed bugs. This of course led to their paid medical staff observing us and saying that it was sand flees, despite us never going near the beach for the majority of our trip. The staff said I could go to a doctor in town but it would be at my expense and they would consider the doctors findings if they are certain it was bed begs. Outside of a confirmation from a medical professional of their choosing, we would not get any assistance or confirmation from them that it was bed bugs. Absolutely horrible experience especially for preferred guests. Avoid this place at all costs.
