CESY is awesome
We had a group of 7 adults for a bachelorette party and had the best time! Everything was very clean, food was great (I didn’t think the buffet was bad! Mexican restaurant amazing and RE breakfast), entertainment fun (we dressed up for 80’s night), the beach is beautiful and clear. We stayed in the adults section as RE. No one experienced illness or any issues. Shout out to CESY who was our primary server at the pool and beach, she is AWESOME and helped make our experience so much fun!!

THANKS FOR THE PARASITES.
Was there for one week for pure hell. After day two, 52/56 of our group started to drop like flies. The water smelled of poop, and walking to the beach you could smell poop along the way. Our two children were also ill and most of our time was spent on the toilet or face in a garbage can. After coming home we are all STILL SICK. Thank for the 8 different types of bacteria and parasites Sandos Playacar. We’re still reeking the poor hygiene of your resort back home. When will it end? Shut this place down. !

February 2025 - Group of 11 Sick
A group of 11 arrived at the resort and within 3 days the first person was sick with vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps. within hours the rest of the group dropped one by one until we all had the same sickness. We were unable to leave the resort and for the majority of the trip, our rooms. None of us drank water from the taps, or even used it to brush our teeth. We all used hand sanitizer as well. We overheard multiple groups around the resort having the same issues. We chalked it up to Norovirus but upon returning home, 5 of the 11 are still symptomatic ( 2 weeks post onset of illness). After doing some research we have found more issues. It's clear its not norovirus and some serious changes need at the resort. Before booking I suggest you look through news articles, facebook and reddit to understand the full picture of the issues going on. Avoid this resort.

Wouldn’t return to sandos playacar
Resort cleanliness not great. Water leaking from toilet, mold on the walls/floor, water from the shower and taps smelt like sewage. Our water jug in the room also had an off smell to it kind of musty smelling. Second day there I got extremely sick (as did many other people). Puking and diarrhea as well as a fever. I slept for 36 hours straight and still felt ill the rest of the trip. Couldnt eat or drink anything without wanting to puke. Once arriving home I made an appointment with my doc as others we went with came back positive with norovirus and some with parasites, still waiting for the results and still feeling ill. Going on 2 weeks being sick now.

Wreaked of sewage and absolute neglect.
AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!! NEGLECTFUL AND OUTRIGHT DANGEROUS!!! No running water for 5/7 days of my stay, when it did start working it came out brown and wreaked of sewage. Every restaurant was shut down after hundreds became ill from a mass poisoning, 10/10 would not recommend.
