Not great AT ALL
Do not be fooled by the reviews and the 4.5 ratings. Hands-down, this is the worse food I’ve ever had in a long time. I lost weight coming here because I could not eat the food. I cannot imagine coming back here and eating this food by choice. Had I known this is what the food would taste like I would never have booked a family vacation here. The resort is nice, but it doesn’t help if you’re eating horrible food, three times a day, for us, we reduced it to two times a day and one time and we just ate bread and butter, no exaggeration. It’s an hour and a half from Tulum and honestly not close to anything else.

Dinner with Jorge at Agave
Dinner was great but the service was amazing with Jorge. The service was always on time and not in the way. He went above and beyond in every aspect. The dessert was a great show with the flaming cake. Great job Jorge thanks from your new friends from MD.

Royalton Riviera Review
Pro: It was a decent stay at a Mexican All-Inclusive as it has everything in an All-Inclusive. The layout of the property is great, as you are never that far from the beach from any room on the property. They had a great mixture of restaurants including a Japanese, Indian, Italian, Caribbean, Mexican, Sports Bar, and a few others. Food at the centralized buffet was decent, and was generally fresh, and abundant. The staff and Butlers were for most part very accommodating and nice, and most of them tried very hard to do an excellent job! Certain Butlers did a better job, it's coin toss on who you get. Con: Diamond Club: check-in was fine, but required a few more staff to attend to guest. While it was in a separate area, it did not make any sense for the guests to wait while the regular check-ins/outs were wide open. Diamond Club pool area: The attendants were rationing towels, and questions myself for taking too many. I understand the rational behind it but the approach was wrong to a guest. They were only interested if they received a tip from the guest, or if they were able to up-sell a Bali bed for 100+ USD. Because no one was really "buying" their pitch, they offered to give a "discount" of 20 USD for the rest of the day (mid-day special....)! Continuously up-sell to Spas, Bali Beds, Sake at Japanese, Coupon Book of useless credits etc, the list goes on. I can see them selling a premium stall at the washrooms soon enough with the view a premium piece of wall. BED BUGS or Mosquitoes, either or was excessive as my spouse had been bitten all over the leg. Would I recommend? If it was an extremely good deal, maybe, but otherwise I would look elsewhere, especially being a Marriott Branded Autograph Collection hotel.

Amazing experience!
My mom and I stayed here for a week as my birthday trip. We stayed in the hideaway section and had such an amazing time! the resort is absolutely stunning, even better than the photos. They did have a few areas closed off to renovate/upgrade but we hardly noticed. The resort is very large so even with those areas closed off there was still plenty of places to go and things to do. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, always making sure everyone had a great time. We specifically loved Joel at the beach bar, he really made our trip special going above and beyond in his service. Thank you Joel for being so great! also, the entertainment at the resort was fantastic! there was always a great show in the evening to enjoy after dinner and multiple things to choose from. On top of all of that, there were quite a few restaurants. Our favourites were the seafood place and the steakhouse, the food was absolutely out of this world. Even the buffet had great selection and everything was so tasty! Lastly, the beach was perfect! it is a big stretch that you can walk along. Perfect white sand. We were so sad to leave but we will definitely be back!!
