Save your money! I wish I did
It was a nightmare from start to finish. I was not given the room I booked and my son had to sleep on a roll in bed that looked like it had been chewed on. My kids are 6 & 13 btw so they were very open about their disappointment in the resort as well. Anyway, I was told to come the next morning to change my room but when I got to guest services that manager (who never came out the office) asked me to wait while he figured out if he could do it. I waited over 30 mins without any information so I decided to leave, any 5 star resort would’ve contacted me by room phone but nope not this place! Never heard from them again. The service in the buffet is horrible you have to literally flag down workers to get a drink order. There were roaches roaming through the pancakes at breakfast (thank god another visitor alerted me of it!). My room bathroom looked like it hasn’t been cleaned, there were pieces of hair hanging from the shower head. The golf cart that transports you throughout the resort is ineffective, it’s literally only ONE. So you’re waiting for over 10 mins for a ride. On the first day at the resort we got confused and got on the golf cart going the wrong direction, I asked the driver to take me back near my room and he said no you have to get off another cart will be back in 5 minutes to take and of course 5 minutes turned into 10 minutes sitting in 90 degree weather! Customer service truly sucks here, I wouldn’t let my dog vacation here. I don’t want anything but my money back from this place. And I can’t wait to post my content on my social media platforms to let them know where not to waste your money!! There’s nothing royal about Royalton.

Not worth the money!!
Review: As seasoned travelers who have experienced a wide variety of destinations, I must say this holiday has been a major disappointment, especially given the amount of money we spent. The cleanliness standards are shocking—rooms are dated and far from well-maintained, with dust and grime that make it clear the cleaning staff either lack the time or attention to do their job properly. It’s unacceptable for the price point. Adding to the frustration, trying to book into the restaurants is a nightmare. Unless you’re on the app at midnight, good luck getting a reservation. It feels like a lottery system rather than a proper dining experience, which is just another unnecessary hassle. Overall, this trip has been disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting a high-quality experience. There are far better options for the price.

Lousy staff beautiful place
The place was great, nice pools and beach. The way they advertised it is that you can use all 7 restaurants that are on two properties that are the Royalton and we were sadly told that we could only use the four restaurants at the Splash side of the resort. Three of them you had to make reservations for the day before to get a reservation and during our week stay two of the restaurants were closed on a few evenings. The last place was the “Sensations” buffet which was mediocre at best. My biggest complaint was the staff at the resort. We were promised a room change at the time of check in because we requested a King size bed due to having a small kid and got a double. When we returned at the time they told us to to get the new room. They played dumb and wanted to know who told us that info, but the girl already finished her shift. After asking for the manager 5 times she finally came out and promised us yet again the room we requested the next morning which she did but we didn’t get the room until 3pm. All the staff ignores you if you don’t tip them and they WILL TRY TO SELL YOU A MEMBERSHIP. The mini bar was empty when we got into our room and it took them a day and a half to come and refill it. If you don’t leave a tip your mini bar will not be refilled and your room properly cleaned. I hope someone takes the reigns (#Marriott) and takes care of the lousy customer service. Different resorts in other places were a totally opposite experience.

Wonderful trip
First long haul holiday as a young couple. Overall a lovely break but definitely some let downs. Check in- only one person checking us in on arrival so did take a bit of time. Nice welcome drink offered. Had someone drop our bags at our room shortly after getting into the room which was good. Room- lovely clean and modern. Everything worked and had everything we needed. Cleaned well each day and fresh towels. Pool- nice area always sunbeds available if going up until 9AM. Not always towels available though, a few days our towels would get wet from rain or wet sunbeds and had to wait hours for fresh ones and staff rude when guests asked for them. Beach- gorgeous sand and sea. Always clean and tidy. Staff- some staff lovely. A lot of staff seem very moody and could be quite short and rude. Often waiting ages or not even getting offered a drink in buffet the whole time spend there - should be more available really. Sometimes tables weren’t ready in the buffet and took ages to find cutlery/napkins ourselves. Excursions- booked Soana island through nexus in the hotel, no complaints fabulous trip and good value for money. Booked to do the buggies with someone on beach which was also brilliant with very deep muddy puddles as had been raining lots. Queried about coco bongo - guy on the beach was not offering tickets as lots of people reported being unwell from the drinks. We asked nexus, they initially offered $380 for 2 tickets (WHAT) and then we kept saying way too much can find cheaper and her final offer was $160 for both as she wanted us to book with them ??? makes you not want to trust them as how can they change the price that much, very funny. Restaurants- Italian was average, pizza similar to one in the buffet, pasta ok (seafood one was super bland). Teppanyaki was good lovely food chefs amazing. Steak house was lovely good food but again staff a bit miserable and rushing you/ not offering a drink for a while. Mexican at splash was a bit average also. Buffet always good had plenty to choose from. Entertainment- honestly didn’t watch any evening entertainment so can’t comment. Not much in the day around the pool offered, some days more than others anyway. Definitely should offer some inside entertainment especially when it’s raining like bingo or something. Overall 7.5/10. Nice trip wouldn’t avoid but definitely could have been better.

Hard to book a restaurant
I don’t know what’s so hard to get all information right at one place. We ere first advised that we can make reservations via the app. When we couldn’t find anything available via the app, they said it’s only allowed 24hours in advance. It still doesn’t work, they said it’s from 6am. It still has nothing available, they said 12 midnight is the time to start. I am here two days and I haven’t reserved anything successfully yet.
