Lovely time but room for improvement

As a family we decided to visit Grenada as it’s our background and stay within a hotel instead with family on the island. We booked our stay in advance and requested rooms to be next to each other and also on the ground floor so it’s easy and accessible. Upon arrival we were given rooms all away from each other. When mentioned we were told we needed to request this service in which I did request and showed the receptionist the confirmation. We then had to wait within reception for over an hour while everything got changed over to our requests. We then had to pay a holding fee of £1085 for all three rooms that we had booked in which it didn’t state on the booking. This fee was for a security deposit for damage etc never knew a fee to be so high, but we paid and started off our holiday. The location is great and the aesthetic of the hotel and onto the beach is a real treat. Which they also serve a lovely breakfast each morning with a variety of different foods, local juices, cakes and pastries. The disappointing facts about this hotel is that the money you spend doesn’t accommodate the entertainment aspects for a holiday destination within the caribbean. There is no night time entertainment, no day time entertainment or activities for families or kids. For the location, the great weather the aesthetic they could have a lot more going on during the day and night to help their guests have fun and feel a real feel of the Caribbean and what’s it about. I also think the lunch and dinner menu should have more variety of cultural foods the price we are paying for standard food within the hotel was just not worth it. On another hand we had some real amazing staff that helped us have a great time during our stay. We would like to mention Keisha our house keeper during our stay majority of the time Keisha would clean our room, we would notice the difference if Keisha didn’t clean our room as her standards was great she also made us all feel very welcome. Joseph Malik the breakfast supervisor he daily ensured he spoke with us and checked how the food was and made us feel welcome. Alana and Nyron who was lovely during breakfast and lunch times also showed us lovely support when my nephew injured himself. Nyron gave us good suggestions in order to help his pulled muscle and Alana always made sure we had everything we needed. Last but not least we can’t forget Dylen & Akim who made us feel overly welcomed who checked on us each day on the beach or by the pool. Ensured our kids were enjoying their time and anything we needed they helped us with. Whether it was helping us with sunbeds giving us ideas on attractions near by etc they were truly Amazing with their time and communication. We do think Radissons has great potential but a few things need to be put in place that would make it a wonderful stay with no regrets.

    Best hotel in Grenada

I would like to thank Akim for doing a wonderful job today. When we arrived on the beach, the beds were taken up by tourist who I believe were from the cruise ship, he spoke to them very politely and advised them that those residing at the Radison Hotel had priority for the beds. On Thursday the rain was falling so hard, that I was unable to leave to get provisions, Akim offered to go out in the rain, he went over and above service to assist, wow how impressive was that. Not forgetting Nakita and Alana the restaurant staff whose smile lightened up the morning. So pleasant, so professional. So demure. I would like to thank you very much for your staff and the excellent customer services that Akim has shown and demonstrated, which encourages me to recommend Radison to anyone when they come to Grenada.

Time for an update and a major upgrade...

This is my second trip to Grenada. My third will definitely not include a stay at the Radisson. The staff is generally pleasant but there are not enough team members to address all of the guests' needs...and there are many. As some others have noted, the breakfast buffet is controlled, with staff members serving and rationing food. There are not enough staff members to clear tables when guests depart during breakfast, which makes for a lot of confusion and angst during the busiest service of the day. The bacon in the buffet is incredibly oily and there is no crispy bacon. Ever. The food is bland, without the local seasoning one would expect. And, this is the first hotel -- on an island -- where I have ever encountered only one type of fish used daily at the resort. I am not sure if this is a function of the impact of global warming on fishing but I had to visit other hotels on the island to get snapper and octopus. During my stay, tuna was the daily fish the majority of the days, with barracuda and marlin rounding out the options. No snapper and no other fish options. Once you get past the food limitations, there are also the room issues. Outdated decor. Many rooms look like they are in need of major maintenance. Flooding of the rooms by faucets that don't stop running. No hot water. Constant, low water pressure. AC issues (too cold or too hot). And broken locks on sliding doors. Despite receiving these complaints from guests, the hotel management team is slow to address them. You speak to multiple staff members multiple times before issues are addressed. Very frustrating. I feel bad writing this but this hotel needs to close for a few months so the hotel can be properly upgraded and repaired. It really is the only way for it to get the attention it so desperately needs.

    Solid family resort

As others have noted, this is a solid hotel. Super clean with some island personality. It is not high end but perfect for a family trip. Steps from the beach. Good food ( especially the banana bread that Frederick found for me in the kitchen). We visited over the holidays and enjoyed the steel drum players. Some areas are a bit worn and dated, but overall a good experience.

    Average at best!

I stayed at the Radisson Grenada Beach Club for a quick weekend trip to celebrate my birthday. While the beach at the resort was nice… the get it yourself lounger chairs with no umbrellas was a bit annoying… overall the property was a underwhelming. The rooms were old, janky, and full of ants. It’s clear the hotel is in desperate need of renovations. The lack of upkeep was disappointing and took away from the overall experience. On a positive note, the on-site restaurant was decent for a quick bite, and the pool area with the waterfall was a hidden gem. With updates and better maintenance, this could be a much better stay.
