  Wonderful Family Trip

  We just returned from Royalton Bavaro Punta Cana and had a wonderful time ! There were 11 of us (three generations). Our butler was Adonis and he took care of everything for us including restaurant reservations, two special birthday celebrations and anything else we needed - always with grace, politeness and a smile! He made our trip extra-special and we give many thanks to him! The resort staff were great, resort very clean with gorgeous beach and pools. Perfect choice for our family trip !

  RUN

  If you're here looking for reviews on a nice all-inclusive resort - this is not it. I truly cannot understand the 4.2 star google rating at the time of this post. The only time staff is nice to you is after check-in where they have someone flag you down to lure you to their membership presentation. Pro tip: say no outright or you'll end up wasting 1.5+ hours with them even though its only meant to be 45mins. They keep telling you its no pressure, just to show you - but they have multiple rounds of men coming to try to talk to into it every time you say no. If the guy still is able to guilt trip you enough (so he can get points), make sure the benefit you get for sitting through it is at least a cabana for a day and NOT a lousy gift box. It looks like a nice resort from the pictures but in actuality, its a wreck. Bedsheets, curtains, towels, serving napkins, bath tub, cutlery, glassware - all dirty, soiled, or stained. The buildings themselves are rundown, old, and just not cleaned. Its quite hilarious that they want you to pay a membership of THOUSANDS of dollars based on what they're offering here. Don't even bother with room service. It will take over 2 hours and the food is terrible. Requests for items to be brought to your room (towels, hairdryer, etc.) takes at least 2 hours if it even comes at all. Rooms will go uncleaned if not specifically asked for (no, leaving the "please clean" sign outside the door does not work). Towels at the beach/ by the pools will run out and not get replaced. If you ask for more, you will just be told there's none. As you can tell service is horrible. The staff is extremely rude, its like you're inconveniencing them by asking them to do their job. At the sports bar/restaurant, you'll likely need to seat yourself, get your own menus and cutlery, then wait 30 minutes before anyone will take your order. Another 45mins for food to actually come out and 75% of the time its wrong or disappointing. The buffets are a joke, restaurant reservations "go missing", no one knows anything about serving or how to take responsibility. None of the food is particularly good or special - in general the food is edible, standard at best. The only way I can imagine anyone enjoying their stay here is if they were wasted the entire time. Overall a huge disappointment. Do not waste your time or money here.

  Very Nice hotel in beautiful grounds.

  We stayed at the Royalton Bavaro for 11 nights in December 2024. Overall we enjoyed are stay. Positives. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful and spotlessly clean. The pools are great never had any problems getting a sunbed the beach is also lovely. We found the food very good loads of choice, We tried all the diffrent restaurants, However hunter's steakhouse was by far the best food and the service was excellent, the.coffee shop was also very nice and lovely friendly staff coffee was very nice also had fresh sandwiches and cakes everyday. We found all the staff friendly and nothing was a problem. The room we stayed in was very nice plenty of room and storage space. We especially enjoyed the whirlpool bath in the room. However there were a few negatives. The service at breakfast was very poor we were only offered coffee twice on an 11 night stay, quite often we couldn't even get the basics like butter or spoons. The entertainment in our opinion was not very good and is repetitive every week. This is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. The prices in the shops that are in the grounds are extortionate the spa is way over priced. We also had to call down to reception quite often to get the minibar re stocked. We would also like to mention a couple of staff who we feel went above and beyond to make our holiday special. Anita, Fresco and yeuilami. Overall a very nice hotel with just a few tweaks could be excellent.

  Paradise

  Just got home from this amazing place, Royalton Bavaro is absolutely amazing. After reading some bad reviews on a facebook group I will be honest I panicked an was going to cancel, I am so glad I didn’t the hospitality of this hotel is the best I have ever seen. 1, hygiene absolutely spotless the cleaning crew are always out cleaning from first thing till late at night good prep areas very clean 2, food cooked to perfection we loved the buffet. steaks, fish , pasta and omelettes stations all cooked in front of you was lovely, a wide selection of different dishes good selection of cakes fruit and salads available. 3, restaurants reservations, had no problem booking into them only went too 3 as we enjoyed the buffet section 4, staff we loved them super friendly nothing was to much trouble I wanted a hair dryer as there wasn’t one in my room within half an hour when we returned one was there the safe wouldn’t work within 20mins a staff member was up changed the battery an showed me how to use it . All very well mannered and polite, we made good friends with Jorge in the gormet buffet he was amazing always had our table with fresh orange waiting for us, our concierge Adoni check in on us very frequently to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. That was very reassuring, The hotel it’s self sent use a little surprise up to our room champagne 🥂 chocolate covered strawberries 🍓 just wow that was so thoughtful everyone made us feel like it was home Not many places make you feel so welcome. The vibe team always out getting everyone to join in and have a good time . 5, housekeeping perfect they work so hard the place was spotless everyday and nice fresh clean bedding and towels 6, lazy river was my favourite floating around most of the day just float into the cave bar come out with a cocktail in hand a must try is the Dominican 🇩🇴 flag cocktail , all pools cleaned every day . 7, the beach is just perfect pure white sand and crystal clear waters always security and Royalton staff members on the beach a waiting service on the beach so no one goes thirsty (Paradise) Royalton Bavaro should be very proud of there staff , we had the best time on a holiday we have ever had . I would love the opportunity to return one day

  Decent resort but not a 5 star

  The hotel could you some refreshing, The beach is great, the staff was great. The liquor is cheap and not much variety on fun vacay drinks. The food was average. Hunter's was the best in my opinion. Rooms are large and clean and the beds are comfy. Always short on wash clothes or towels, but when called to get more they did bring quickly. I thought it was a good hotel for the price paid but I would rate as a 3 to maybe 4 star. Did not care for the having to pay extra for any sort of anything. Kids club should be included in the price as should the wave rider and any if your celebrating a birthday, throw in a small cake. Every little thing cost you extra.
