  Noisy and full of smoke

  Very noisy absolutely nowhere to sit and relax without people smoking or vaping next to you - despite the odd no-smoking sign which staff allow people to ignore. Between 6-9 local canoes/boats in the very small beach from first to last thing every day, shouting out for people to buy their 'smoke' which makes being able to safely go into the sea impossible. Obviously fueling the constant stench of cannabis. The entertainment is beyond poor, despite the dancers being individually talented. Service is hit and miss, some staff being incredibly rude others great. Only saw a lifeguard actually sit in lifeguard station on the beach once - apparently they don't like to?!

  Wonderful Vacation

  I had an amazing time at the RIU Reggae, some people in specific who made my stay so special include Prince, Shavelle (Shavi), Stainton, Flexx, and Teddy. They are wonderful and made my favorite part of visiting Jamaica be the people! Food was good, beach was clean, activities were fun, my room was comfortable. I’ll be seeing you again, soon!

  OUTSTANDING RESORT, you won't be disappointed!

  We would be hard pressed to find anything negative about this place honestly, we are a fairly well travelled couple and were so impressed. First stay at a Riu but not the last, will likely make this an annual trip now! The location (10-15min from the airport), food, service, staff, entertainment, room and facilities were excellent. FOOD - Lots of selection all meals at the buffet, of course the categories of the food stations are repetitive but varied the selection at each daily, fresh and tasty, no tummy troubles whatsover. A la cartes generally very good, we managed to get reservations at all 3 during our stay, just check the app daily (can book 3 days out) and be flexible with times! (Kimone at the buffet was a wonderful waitress) SERVICE AND STAFF - Almost always outstanding EVERYWHERE. Pleasant, friendly, accommodating, and they pay attention, will jump to help if they notice you need anything at all. (Shavara at the lobby bar, Felisha/Michelle/Richard at the mojito bar were super awesome) ENTERTAINMENT - Perfect balance of fun and relaxation here, they have a break from noon-3pm at the main pool if you want to read/rest by the pool. The staff are incredible, endless energy and SO talented and just an absolute blast overall. The evening shows were unbelievable, I know the entertainment crew need/deserve a break but would have loved to just watch them every single night (other shows were theme neon/white party at Riu Montego Bay, steel drums, silent headphone party). (Special mention to Fun Size for amazing choreography, Spade 45 and Flexx, off the charts) ROOM - Very comfortable and clean, perfect. Loved the mini-bar that was re-stocked every second day (had to request diet coke from the front desk and they provided throughout the rest of our stay). Note to keep one room key in the slot by the front door to keep A/C on moderately when not in the room, and need to keep the balcony door shut to keep it running as well. For room 2134, we faced the trees out the outside of the property which was just fine, hot sun in the late afternoon but we barely spent any time in the room other than sleeping! Drying rack outside was helpful. (Christine was the PERFECT housekeeper during our stay, thank you!) FACILITIES - I found the resort to be a perfect size - only 3 levels for rooms (ground, 1st and 2nd), 2 pools, everything easily accessible within a 5-min walk. Fairly modern, very clean and generally well maintained. If I had to post anything negative, I would say the gym is a bit small and not sure if it was air-conditioned so quite warm (I am going on vacation to RELAX so NOT a complaint). The ice machine on our floor ran out of ice a couple of times (likely the fault of guest overuse in late afternoon). There is one fairly small elevator to get to upper floors if needed (but honestly I needed the exercise to walk upstairs a couple of flights a few times a day anyways). Final note, this was my 60th birthday present from hubby and it was a perfect vacay for us. We are fairly easy going, like to party a bit and relax a bit as well, and it was the IDEAL blend of both. Crowd was all ages which was super fun. A younger group might like a busier bigger resort like Riu Montego Bay, but it was great being where we were because you could go to the disco there if you wanted and come back to ours for R&R when you were tired! We didn't use the water slides or facilities at Riu Montego Bay during the day but appreciated that we could have if we had chosen to. I don't doubt that the odd traveller might have a bit more of a negative experience on occasion due to unfortunate circumstances, but it is undoubtably the exception. There are a ton of repeat travellers that come here for good reason. THANK YOU RIU REGGAE, you are all so wonderful and we will be back, ya 'mon!!! <3

  Sunshine and Smiles

  This is my second time staying at the Riu Reggae and it did not disappoint. I will continue to return to Jamaica and stay at this resort. I love the smaller size of the resort, its a 5min drive from the airport, the food is great and all the staff are amazing, especially the entertainment staff. I am always blown away by their energy, commitment to making you have fun, and their night shows.....WOW! We loved it so much the first time we stayed that we tried a Riu in Dominican the next year, hoping to have the same experience. It failed in comparison, the staff make this location the best. If you are travelling to Jamaica with friends, Riu Reggae is the place to stay.

  Exceptional Hotel

  The Hotel is great, everything was perfect, the Hotel is spotless, the staff are amazing, the entertainment is second to none. Went for my Daughters 30th nothing was to much trouble for them , from sorting the ballons to ordering a cake and decorating the room. The beach is beautiful, the food in the Restaurants is 100%. Cannot fault anything. Some of the staff that need a mention are Jason,Michelle,Demar,Jaron,Charisse,Jolene, Bubbles,Santiano, Terry Ann, Sharon and George, tbh all staff were great just can't remember all their names. All in all a fantastic holiday.
