Decent but could be better food wise

Decent but could do better, they served very unseasoned food which is not cultural for Jamaicans some bar tenders are quite rude whilst waiting for drinks. This was only a selective few the rest of the staff were very nice and welcoming. Lobby staff seemed nice and helpful with putting a birthday message for your birthday and offered to book a restaurant in the hotel which is good.

Overall an amazing trip to Jamaica. We stayed at the resort or 7 nights/8 days.

It was an amazing experience overall. We had a fun and relaxing time. The staff was so nice and accommodating. I loved the staff, they were one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed our stay. If you’re staying at Reggae, you have the option to go to Montego Bay only. You can’t go to Palace. I enjoyed Reggae, it’s a smaller resort but it’s fun and relaxing. Coffee - Every morning I would go to the lobby bar to have the coffee. They have an espresso machine. Riu Party - it was an excellent party. They combined the entertainers from all three resorts. It was triple the fun. I wish they did the party a few times a week. And a foam party or different themed day parties a few times a week. I will say though that if you are staying at Reggae, you can go to Montego Bay for the foam party on Wednesday and the beach bash. So technically you do get to go to the party twice. Club Pacha- it’s open every night from 11 to 2 am. The resort doesn’t really promote their club, they promote the outside clubs like Espy and Elevate. I didn’t mind the resort club, it’s free and it’s an actual club setting. Bar- Shout out to Michele the bartender at the swim up pool bar. Loved her energy. The lobby bar is open 24 hours a day. The other resort bars open at 10 am. It took me a few days to find the perfect drink for me. It’s called the Crisp Lemonade drink. I don’t like sweet drinks this was the perfect drink. It’s Smirnoff vodka, soda water, Jameson and splash of grenadine For color. Important note if you’re looking for top shelf. The hotel does not serve top shelf drinks. Our friend group normally drinks tequilla, but the tequila the resort serves is not good. We ended up buying tequilla from duty free in America. Just note the duty free in Jamaica airport is more expensive. Also, if you get alcohol outside the hotel from the shops it’s also expensive. The only Riu resort on property that serves top shelf is the Riu Palace. Restaurants - My favorite part of the restaurant is its located next to the beach. When you are eating breakfast you have a nice view. Food is great, but if you are staying for a week it gets repetitive. My recommendation is to have different themed buffet nights at the buffet station. The Asian Restaurant - you do not need a reservation. Food is excelllent, but it’s same food. Italian Restaurant - it’s great, it’s a part buffet. Kulinarium it’s a 3 course sit down meal. Room- the room was very clean. We only had housekeeping service one day to change the sheets. We requested towels the other days when we needed it. The entertainment crew- Shout out to Husain and Bubbles. They were great hosts and amazing dancers. We loved going to the pool each day. The entertainment crew was at the pool during the day and at night they would perform on stage. Each of them were so talented. The Michael Jackson show was an amazing show. Incredible performers! My ONLY NEGATIVE REVIEW is the catamaran cruise from the resort. We turned down the other excursions from the other companies so that we can go on the resort boat. I was so excited, all week I saw the other boats coming and going from the beach. . It looked like so much fun. So we book the boat trip and when we checked in to get on the boat they said we had to take another boat. I didn’t mind, the other boat was packed. They didn’t have enough room. As soon as we get on the boat, the worker was telling us you have to get off the boat and go on another boat. I was so confused there was no room on the other boat. So after the other worker explains that the boat speaker isn’t working. We had to wait and move the boat to Montego Bay. And we’re docked on the beach at Montego Bay for a while, they had to transfer the liquor and coolers to the other boat. The other boat was smaller and the speakers were also not working good. Keep in mind the other boat sailed away so we were pressed for time. The Captain was going so fast to try and catch up to the other boat and make sure we’re on time. I’ve been on multiple catamarans and this boat was like a speed boat. We were going so fast didn’t have time to enjoy the boat to dance. The staff was amazing and nice but this was a terrible experience. We didn’t get the boat experience we had hoped for. On the way back to resort, the alcohol crate fell and cut one of the passengers. They were bleeding like crazy and there was glass and blood everywhere. We couldn’t have any fun, I was so disappointed and felt bad for the passenger that got hurt. There was glass everywhere and boat was so choppy due to the waves. We did get a partial refund, but the experience we hoped for was lost.

    Girls Getaway

We had a great time at Riu Reggae only criticism would be that the music around the pool was a bit clubby for our liking we would have preferred more lovers rock and easy listening traditional reggae rather than the clubby dance garage music which was quite heavy when you’re trying to relax.

    Extremely friendly staff

First off, we visited on a week where the weather didn't quite cooperate, it was windy, overcast, and the sea was very choppy all week, did that stop us from an amazing vacation? No way! The staff was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we had fun! Michelle at pool bar was a gem! The entertainment team were top notch, the resort felt like cheers by day 2, every staff member remembers all our names and made us feel like family!
