Mar 31, 2025A Good Place to Stay!
This was our second stay at this hotel. Stayed here last year. Liked it well enough to return. The location is amazing--just steps from Times Square. Interestingly, the room was super quiet. No road or 'people noise' from the street. Room was small but we were expecting it to be a smaller room. The room was clean and well-appointed. We ordered extra blankets and they were promptly delivered. The fan was broken. Mentioned it the next day. It was fixed immediately. They use a 'perfume' in the building. Bit overwhelming. Security at elevator. While they don't check room keys, their presence was appreciated. One must use room key to access one's floor. This was good. Breakfast was a bit pricey, I thought. $24 for adult. $12 for kids. Food was ok--nothing great. Buffet style. Felt like a cafeteria. Lots of people touching items. One man open-mouthed coughed over utensils. Did not visit again. Had laundry done. Gave it to staff before 9am. Was ready the same night. All in all, the price was reasonable for location, safety, and cleanliness. Would likely stay again.

Magnífico hotel en el centro de Times Square. El personal muy profesional y amable, todos hablando español. El buffet del desayuno increíble, considerado como el mejor de Nueva York. Nos dieron la habitación en la planta 38, con unas vistas maravillosas. Habitación espaciosa con minibar y cama comodísima. Nunca tuvimos que hacer cola para el desayuno. El día de la salida, te guardan el equipaje hasta las 21h. Tuvieron el detalle por cumpleaños de mi esposa dejarnos encima del tocador una tarjeta de felicitación y cajita de bombones. Volveremos a Nueva York y seguro que repetiremos hotel.

Stay as a couple
Nice hotel , very good location, the staff is attentive and helpful , friendly whether at the reception or staff interview they are open to conversation , nice room , clean , excellent lunch ... we will return ☺️ a perfect stay for a first time in NY

Perfect hotel for the occassion
Our 2nd time in New York and the Rui Plaza was a great location in the heart of Times Square. However Times Square is super busy and I felt for me this was a little too in the thick of it. I think next time I would stay at the other Riu Plaza or at a different part of Manhattan. We booked as a package with British Airways which was room only We were on the 48th floor in a junior suite (4811) which was perfect for our four night stay. The room was spacious, bed was a king size, separate sofa bed, tv that swung around so it could be viewed from bed. A huge shower room with double sink. The view was amazing! Aircon was good but seems the temp is set so at times it was a little cold due the changeable weather. Iron and iron board provided, safe and lots of hanging and drawer space. Curtains - a brilliant blackout. Didnt go to breakfast based on the previous reviews and also witnessed the queue. It was long after 8:30am. Friends who were also staying did have breakfast and they said the food was good. Lifts were busy but being on the 48th it always arrived to us empty but could do a lot of stops on the way down in the morning and fill up. If you were on the lower floors I could see where the frustration comes in. Used the grab & Go - DuJuane on the first night was frustrated and didnt listen to orders, you could tell he was not having a good evening but other times we went to get a coffee, drink, crisps he was very pleasant and provided good service, I am glad I went back. Lobby at times can be busy but the staff were all professional and helped us get a cab when it was heavy rain. They advised getting a cab right outside is not the most practical as it is a busy road which was nice of them but the weather was awful so preferred to sit in the traffic rather than walk and hail one ourselves. Nice Hotel in good location
Our first time in New York and the Rui Plaza was a great location in the heart of Times Square . We booked as a package with British Airways which included breakfast. We were on the eleventh floor in a medium sized room which was perfect for our five night stay. The bed was a king size and very comfortable with soft pillows great to get back to after all that walking. The Breakfast room is good on the Fifth floor ,it does get very busy and you sometimes have to que. The service was very good lots of staff and tables. You have to check in for breakfast in the lobby and they have a dedicated lift to take you to the fifth floor for breakfast. The only problem is after breakfast trying to get back to your room or the lobby it can be a nightmare as all the lifts are usually full and you can wait ages to squeeze in the lift . If i stayed again I would try and get a room on the fifth floor down and use the stairs. The breakfast itself was very good lots of choice . Ours was included in our deal but the Hotel charge $24 . The maid service was good ,very clean and tidy If we came again we would not hesitate to stay here.
