This was my first time at the Playacar and I was absolutely delighted. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the choice of restaurants was good. I absolutely loved the quantity of covered loungers around the pools. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I've already booked another stay!

Review of Rui Playacar Mexico
I stayed at this hotel in February and I cannot fault it at all. It was just fabulous. The food was excellent., the staff were friendly and helpful. Considering its large capacity it is run really smoothly. I would definitely go again. The hotel is right on the beach, which is beautiful and has a lovely breeze.

Wonderful Trip
You accomodated 11 people for a short vacation that was exactly what we needed. The food, activities, bar, and staff allowed for a relaxing way to catch up and enjoy the weather.

Stayed at the Riu Playacar 3 times in the last 2 years Travelled with Tui Uk from Manchester Tui reps in hotel everyday buffet food is very good lost of choice breakfast and evening meal buffet buffet restaurant for lunch is near the beach lots of choice also Pepis fast food near the pool bar Ala Carte restaurants favourite was the Asian buffet restaurant eat as much as you like lots of choice,sushi starters,spoiled for choice for main course sweet available, staff all very good particular Anna Italian restaurant very nice Hotel is very clean we requested a room in block 6 in the third floor 6321 which the hotel acknowledged the room request room attendant very good tipped daily rooms are open plan nicely furnished we had two large bed,shower and toilet cubicle two sink,average size wardrobe with safe iron ironing board and umbrellas, fridge was stocked every two days nice jester to leave fridge guy a tip,4 spirit optics above the fridge tequila dark rum gin and vodka Pools we’re lovely one was used for activities big swim up bar got very busy from 12 lunch time lovely beach with lots of sun chairs no parasols just palm trees life guard in attendance love the Patio in front of the beach with sun chairs and Parasols Towel hut near the bar 1 towel per person Animations team very good lots of activities throughout the day, particularly Jesus who came to talk with us every day white and neon parties at the Tequila hotel on Friday night were very good singers top DJ dancers busy bars with excellent service Circus acrobatic team came on a Wednesday lunch their show is excellent Artist before the shows were very good started about 8pm then shows at 9.30pm most were very good in the Amphitheater two bars in the Amphitheater lounge bar opens 24/7 good quality drinks wine cocktails throughout the hotel Edwardo makes excellent cocktails children club looked well organised for the little ones Lots shops over the road with currency exchange taxis outside the hotel 150 pesos to 5th Avenue in Plays del Carmen Our only disappointment this visit is that the hotel has let the smoking restrictions drop they don’t police the smoking rules any more people were smoking/vaping in the swim up bar. the lobby bar. the amphitheater walking around resort this is why I leave a 4 star instead of 5 star

Easy chill and relaxing
this resort is not fancy, but what it does it executes perfectly. It is clean one of the cleanest resorts I’ve been to, and the food is hot and fresh. Very much oriented towards buffets even the sit down. Restaurants are partly Buffet. But the food produce is good. Everything is busy and it moves quickly so it’s fresh and delicious. The theater has some decent chows. We were in building one very close to the theater. if you need quiet before 11 ask for a building father down the beach. We were three adults so it worked out fine for us. We weren’t gonna be going to bed before 11 anyway but for little kids, it could be upsetting. It’s a Family resort we saw lots of little kids. They were all adorable. None of them were tantrum mean it was really fun to see them. There are plenty of pool and beach chairs many of the pool chairs have shade and you can get a chair on the pool deck with a lovely Beechview and a big umbrella. One thing that really impressed me about this resort is the cleanliness. They actually wash the entire pool deck even move the chairs and washed and squeegeed all the glass pool walls every single morning. This was the third resort we visited on a two week trip and this was definitely the cleanest. Room is just like it looks online very pretty. Hey, this resort lacked the doting service of some of the others, but it had everything that you need at the Buffay they did bring you water or drink and they were also self serve drink and beer table. Absolutely beautiful playacar beach, soft sand Clearwater they groom it every morning, so there was very little sargassum. Water was slightly rough, but definitely swimmable Super easy, chill and relaxing place. We will likely return next year
