We spent there 6nights and everything was really good – food variety, room cleanest, beach, location,......we will definitely came back. Only one thing I’d change – our rooms 2222/2223 were very close to main stage, therefore till 11pm was a little bit noisy.

Playa Del Carmen Trip Nov 2024
I have stayed at a number of Riu properties in Mexico and as always they never fail in making you welcome and creating a quality vacation location with fantastic staff supporting the whole experience. I stayed at the Riu Playacar for 13 days as I was visiting a local dentist in the area for some treatment and the location was excellent. Walked every day approx 5 miles around the area and it is only a 10 min taxi journey to 5th Avenue which is a great experience. The hotel has everything you could want to enjoy for a relaxing vacation with the pool areas all serviced continually through the day, lots of covered shaded areas if you need shade and just a hop onto a lovely relaxing beach. The rooms are very well maintained with the attendants taking care of all cleaning etc on a regular daily basis, my room was always kept spotless. I have got to mention the exceptional maintenance team here as the AC in my room went down during day 8, reported it to the reception at lunchtime, maintenance guy was there within 20mins and had to replace the unit and all was completed within and approx 3 hour window, really impressed me how efficient and professional the team were in handling a major fault. The staff in the food areas are all very friendly, have a great sense of humour and helpful with the staff in the bars also being so fun, not happy until they have made you happy (big shout out to Froy, Fer, Alberto and Raul) who helped me have a great time. I would recommend any Riu Hotel that I have been to, always our pleasure visiting such a high standard of location and facilities.

Overly Exceeded my Expectations
I have stayed at many RIU properties and they have been consistent for me in what I look for in a vacation property. This property was a very nice surprise for me. If I had to describe in one word, it would be Clean. Dining was easy (No Reservations) and the options were highly acceptable for a 5 day stay. There are options to dine at neighboring (RIU) properties but that is not necessary. The beach is beautiful and private. No worries of being disturbed while enjoying yourself in the ocean. The Playacar area is really the bonus here. Many shopping options and a very safe environment for first timers or families. I will definitely return to this property.

Fantastic hotel
Fantastic hotel, friendly, helpful and polite staff. Used the App to check in online, cases were taken to our room. We had a very large double bed and a double sofa bed, towels were soft and fluffy, lovely bathroom with double sinks, great shower, comfy bed and pillows, slept very well, room was spotless. We were located in the block near the pool above the Mexican and steak restaurant and there was no outside noise, very peaceful. Pools were great, entertainment staff all work so hard and very friendly. Foam pool party, coconut party,and neon night to just mention a few were great fun and so well organised. Cocktails were all faultless and I tried a few. The food in the buffet was fantastic and we tried all 4 speciality restaurants which were also fantastic. The whole holiday was faultless and we came away with many happy memories. Even a nice man arranging taxi outside reception the taxi staff that spoke English were really friendly and helpful giving advice on getting taxi back to hotel if you didn’t want to walk back. Even the beach at the front of the hotel gets raked every morning so looks beautiful and smooth. Loved getting up early to watch the sunrise on the beach in the morning. Thank you for a fantastic holiday, I can’t recommend this hotel enough
