May 03, 2025Top Notch. Not Too Large. Good amenities.
One of our favorite resorts in the area, along with Riu Palace Mexico. We’ve been to both several times and to dozens of others in the Riviera Maya. Resort is not too large (about 350 rooms), but large enough for great amenities. No need for a long trek, or waiting for a shuttle, to the beach from your room. Large flat beach and pools have an abundance of lounge chairs and bar servers. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Restaurants have good varieties and very good food and service. Plenty of activities if you want to participate. We’ll be back again before year’s end.

Nothing but Good
We had an excellent stay. It is hard to pick our most favorite part of the experience. The room was spacious and comfortable. The dining options offered a wide variety of food options and were fresh and tasty. The drinks were cold and plentiful. The pools were spacious and the walkways were continuously cleaned. The staff is multilingual and were very friendly. EACH staff person greeted us with a smile. We felt very safe on the property. Snorkeling or scuba diving trips were offered right on the property making if very convenient and reducing travel time. Our least favorite part of the trip was people saving pool loungers by putting towels or personal items on them from an early time and then not showing up to use them until hours later. But we made it work for us.

Como siempre...
Solo por un pequeño malentendido que hubo al realizar el check in, no fue un 10 perfecto. Pero como siempre este hotel se caracteriza por un excelente servicio, una comida fabulosa y las instalaciones igualmente maravillosas.

Outstanding Resort For So Many Reasons!!
My husband and I recently stayed for a week at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen and we were so happy with our choice!! This resort is in an amazing location just 15 min walk from the infamous 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. The resort is located in a gated Playacar community surrounded by lush trees and gardens. The beaches in this area are stunning, they're deep and they span for miles. The swimming is incredible and the ocean is easy to walk into, sand bottom and no drop off. The food was fantastic, anything you could want and delicious. Drinks the same! The resort was so clean, inside and out. The rooms are modern, spacious and beautiful. We can't say enough good about this resort and the other Riu's in the area that you also have use of when staying at this one. We've travelled a lot and stayed at quite a few different resorts and this ones rates high for us! The pools are great, maybe just not as fancy as other resorts as they're square or rectangle but still awesome. The night time entertainment was also super fun, not the usual resort entertainment. You actually wanted to go!! High energy, fun!! The staff couldn't do enough to help ensure your vacation is simply the best! We also went to Cozumel for a day! Easy walk to the ferry (15 minutes) or a $10 cab ride. The RIU White Party at RIU Tequila was also an awesome time!! 10/10 on this resort and experience!

Riu palace is amazing
Had a wonderful week long stay here, rooms were clean with top tier housekeeping, everyone from front desk, cafe, bars throughout the resort, and all of the restaurant staff were amazing and treated us like family.
