Belle vacances

Belter holiday, 4.5 stars from us!
It was a lovely holiday away! The hotel is lovely, based on the beach front and the beach is very accessible, you just need to walk down through the hotel! The beach is nice, but there’s a lot of seaweed and the sea has been a bit choppy, but there’s nothing the hotel can really do about that. Our room was very clean, we had no complaints about the room. We had a bar stocked with vodka, whisky, gin and rum on tap, as well as fridge with Pepsi, water, lemonade, tonic and beer. The fridge was always restocked every time we took a beverage and this is all free of charge. Air conditioning works very well and there is a ceiling fan also. Bed was really comfortable and we got a huge double bed, with plenty of space. The bathroom is very clean, the shower was a bit average with not so much pressure but that didn’t bother us. Hairdryer is not the best. It does work to dry your hair but it takes a while and it is very noisy, you should probably take your own if you use a hairdryer. Our hotel room was cleaned every day and it was always immaculate. New towels whenever we wanted them also. There will be a safe, an iron and ironing board in the closest if you need, and there’s a lot of storage space for luggage. We had an issue with our toilet not flushing at one point but this issue was fixed straight away by the staff, kudos to them! The room has a lovely TV, the only issue is that we managed to have one English speaking channel which was SpongeBob on channel 103.2. We don’t mind as we like a bit of SpongeBob😂 On the hotel site, there are 5 restaurants. Spanish - starters weren’t the best as it is a buffet starter, but it’s not the worst. We had the steak as a main, one was cooked medium, one was requested medium but got rare. We’re not fussy, so we still ate. Dessert was alright too, we got a tapas of rice pudding, custard and then two brownies. Japanese - the sushi starter was lovely, my partner had pork noodles for main, whilst it was nice the pork was dry and the sauce was a little watery. I had the salmon and asparagus with a side of rice, it was amazing! Dessert was Mochi, which was also very nice. Italian - starters here were also a buffet selection, so it was alright. My partner had tortellini, which was described as not nice, as the pasta was very chewy, although the sauce was nice. I had the lamb chops, which were more fat and bone than lamb meat. Dessert was tiramisu, which was perfect. French (a la cartè) - this is the best restaurant on the site in our opinion. We came here twice. We had pumpkin soup for starters which was great, then steak and braised beef for main, which was cooked to perfection, and then a lemon posset with a praline compost for dessert which was bang on. We loved eating here. Steak - starter was a cesar salad, which was a little salty and a crabcake with tartar sauce - the crabcake was good. Main was a surf and turf dish for my partner which was cooked perfect, I ordered a 8oz steak but was served rare rather than medium. It still was nice! Dessert was chocolate cake and ice cream, which was standard. There is an also a buffet with general food which we didn’t use at night, but did use during the day. It involves everything you’d expect from your usual buffet and quality of food was satisfactory. Breakfast buffet is pretty good! We did also get room service a few times, which was standard. They only offer nachos and club sandwiches for food, and it’s okay for nights where we were too tired to eat downstairs normally. There is a stand next to the swim up bar called Pepes. The chicken is next level, we had it almost every day! The burger we found to be gristley. The pools are kept as clean as possible although there can be a bug or two found in the water. There’s also towel service by the pool for fresh towels everyday for your sun lounger. The swim up bar is adults only, but there is a kids pool and another pool with a volleyball net. There is also some kind of entertainment during the day too, and we can’t say it’s boring as we did enjoy it! There’s always something on in the evenings, we particularly enjoyed the Kahoot quizzes. The staff are nice and friendly, always ready to help around the hotel and they appreciate tips although it’s not necessarily asked for in the hotel. The cafe in the hotel lobby is lovely, they serve hot/cold drinks as well as cakes. The bars around the hotel will also serve most drinks, even if not on the menu they will more than likely make it. There’s also a sports bar at the left hand side of the hotel lobby, which shows all sport, open 24/7 and has food. There is a spa, a nightclub and a gym also , but we didn’t use these facilities. Found the online check-in a little useless as we were still required to wait to check in like everyone else. There is a main shop on the resort in between the restaurants. Please use the main shop on the resort, as the prices are actually shown on the items. The shops just off the beach to the right hand side of the resort (and accessible from the resort) do not show prices and we got scammed by a shop on the end of the market as we paid the equivalent for £21.00 for two bags of crisps🥴 Overall, we did feel the hotel was a 4.5 star hotel, we did enjoy our stay here and we would stay here again!

Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana
One of the best stays I have had. Most of the staff was always smiling and were very welcoming. The only time there was an issue was when the wrong steak was served to the table. This became a very unsettling discussion between the staff and the manager and then we never saw anyone again.

A time well spent.
Stayed here on a girls' trip. I enjoy my entire stay. Friendly staff, food was decent, hotel lobby was majestic, beach was awesome, pools were nice and convenient, the parties were lit...im an older person but still appreciated the themed parties and all the young people were having a blast of time. Great that i was able to visit the other RIU properties. Its not too far from rhe airport or other excursion s.

Awesome!
Always been a fanboy of Riu, if it’s not TUI Blue or Riu, then I’m not going. The drinks are good, red wine doesn’t taste like paint streeper. The entertainment is always awesome 😬🙌
