Excellent service and beautiful beach!
Riu Palace Kukulkan is a beautiful property far enough outside of the hotel zone that it is quiet, but near enough to experience nightlife if you prefer. The service was excellent, my drink was never empty. The food at the buffet and the restaurants was also great. Good value and the beach was not too crowded and very nice. Would visit again!

We loved it!
TL;DR: We loved it and would definitely go again. We visited the Riu between Christmas and New Year's with our two grown sons and one of their girlfriends. We had a blast and got our money's worth. Staff and Service - The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. - A special shoutout to Angel and the entertainment team—they were fantastic and really made the stay enjoyable. - Lupita and Nicola provided wonderful massages; highly recommend them. Accommodations - The rooms were clean, but the soundproofing was lacking. We could hear conversations in the hallway, neighbors moving furniture, and luggage being wheeled around. - Beds were on the harder side, which could be uncomfortable for some. - We appreciated that there was a ceiling fan in the rooms. Dining - The food was good overall, with plenty of options at the buffet. We didn’t try the Fusion or Elite restaurants, but everything else was enjoyable. - Pepe’s fries were absolutely delicious and a highlight of our dining experience. - We went to the Steakhouse twice because it was so good. They were very generous with portions, and there was never a lack of food around. Entertainment and Activities - There was always something to do, which we appreciated. The pool area was lively with games, bingo, volleyball, and exercises, They came around with treats like fruit and popsicles. There were always wait staff coming around asking if we needed anything and taking away used dishes. - The shows were a mixed bag: - Live music and the Mariachi performance were excellent. - The Michael Jackson show had great dancers, but the lead performer seemed tired and didn’t know the words. - Kahoot trivia was fun, but the saxophonist's performance left much to be desired. - The Circo show was really good. Amenities - Pools were beautiful and well-maintained. I loved that the tiles around the pool and the sand on the beach stayed cool even in the heat. - Alcohol and food were plentiful, and the resort wasn’t stingy, which we appreciated. - Internet and Wi-Fi worked smoothly throughout our stay. Overall Impressions - The hotel was clean, the staff were great, and there was plenty to keep us busy. - There are a few areas for improvement, such as better soundproofing and softer beds. However, the friendly atmosphere, quality entertainment team, and great amenities made for a memorable stay. I highly recommend downloading the mobile app. We used it quite a bit every day to see what activities were going on and check menus. We also used it to order more towels, and it worked great. I would definitely recommend the Riu for those looking for a lively, activity-packed getaway!

Vacation
The is was our first trip to Cancun. The RIU Kukulkan was extremely clean, and the staff was amazing!! They remembered us from day to day and what we drank! We will definitely be returning!!

Accused of taking salt shaker
Overall it was loud and noisy. We ran into a frustrating situation when we were charged for salt and pepper shakers at the Italian restaurant. We talked to the manager and restaurant staff. We were accused of take the shakers and charged $75cdn for them. We felt it was a money grab or something weird. We would not recommend the resort.

Wonderful getaway
Stayed here for our anniversary getaway. This is our second time here. The resort is beautiful, food is good and of course the beach is gorgeous but the best thing about this resort is the staff. The staff is what brings us back here. I want to list some of the staff who made our stay great. They deserve some recognition for their hard work! : ) Adrian, David, Darwin, Enrique, Julio, Ivan, Emmanuel. Thanks to all these guys - they went above and beyond to make our stay even better. They are truly the BEST!!! Please be nice and tip the staff! They work so hard and they are very appreciative when tipped. A little goes a long way. One of the only negative things I have to say about this resort is they need to give more than 1 towel per guest. They give each guest 1 towel card for the pool. You turn in your card for a towel and have to return your towel to get the card back. We could easily use at least 2 towels… We will be back!
