Clean Beautiful Resort,Great entertainment, average food, very noisy ALL night due to out of control spring breakers.
We stayed for 10 days in March 2025. Resort is very clean👌, food was average, service & entertainment was excellent.🎶 🎈Neon party💃 was Lots of fun🎉🫶 Foam pool party was also fun bbq in the beach day too. Great live bands, sax player🎷 & some very good shows at night! Entertainment staff are awesome & engaging for everyone 🫶We mostly went to the buffet& found food to be good/ average. We always found something to eat, never got sick while there though others did.. Italian restaurant, salmon was very good. Biggest problem while we were there was the college spring breakers who were VERY obnoxious, self indulgent, rude, noisy ALL night long! We averaged about 4 hours sleep almost every night & LOTS of guests were complaining of the non stop noise ALL night long - loud music, constant screaming, yelling,& slamming doors. (We like to have fun too on vacation) BUT this was out of control of obnoxious behavior!!! The entertainment staff had to shut down the karaoke night early due to their behavior. Also, we couldn't get close to the outside bars they overtook to get a drink, so would have wait for a server to come around during shows. As average ppl who are not overly hard to please, We finally started complaining bitterly about the noise as couldnt handle it anymore😐Security would come and eventually it would get quiet for a bit... The college kids were also getting sick🤮 from too much alcohol on the beach & were fined while we were there. Also case of alcohol poisoning that was self induced, Riu staff seemed to be handling situation well. Make sure if you get food from the snack hut🍔🌭 on the beach it is FULLY cooked not just warm or cold! On a more positive note, we found the entertainment & service to be excellent. Shout out to Barbara🫶 Salvador 🫶who provided awesome service at breakfast & dinner buffets. We booked 1 tour through Luis the Rui rep & he was 👌 We never had any issues with our room & any requests we had for extra towels or restocking were done immediately.👍Riu app is great or call the desk either works. Sports bar is he place to get your ☕️The hotel is showing its age & due for renos this summer. Hopefully they keep the beautiful grounds🌴 & great staff & doesnt become concrete jungle. 100% Recommend Rhythms of the night tour & day in Bucerias ❤️& Puerto Vallarta if you haven't been. We are frequent visitors to Mexico🇲🇽 & always stay at Riu. We would rate the stay as average, we would not return in March, possibly another time of year ... or may just pay more & go back the Riu Palace again for top quality of everything. More security needed day & night to enforce rules & ensure enjoyment of ALL guests vacations as we have never come home so exhausted from a vacation!😐

Couple with two adult children.
Excellent service throughout the resort. The staff working around the swim up bar was outstanding. Always coming around asking people for drinks. We all found the food and choices to be excellent. The Steak House Restaurant had a line up before opening. You need to get in line before opening to ensure entry. We would stay here again but a few insignificant things to mention. We wanted connecting rooms and we were told there was none available. The connecting room on our floor did not appear to be occupied as it was never closed. It is an outside door closing off the hallway between two doors. The hotel doors used by other guests when you are trying to sleep close loudly waking you up. I could hear my son coughing in the next room so not entirely sound proof. The chair game is real. If you don't reserve a chair by 9am you won't get a good one or one at all. Cubby holes by the pool bar are needed to put towels etc in for people that don't get a chair. We went for a beach walk most days. We saw a brown snake in the water by the shore once. My son worked out in the gym most days. He says some of the cardio equipment was not working or broken. He had the place to himself in the afternoons. Would have liked an outdoor hot tub option. The birds fly through the buffet seating area. They poop into the seating area when they are perched on the railings. Saw one iguana walking through the pool area. We would have sat on the beach more but there is no umbrellas. You have to pay and rent those. Overall a great stay. I felt safe there. None of us got sick as we have before when we went to Mazatlan over 25 years ago. Wear good sandals and walk carefully. We saw three people fall and get injured on the pool deck in one day. Staff are squeegee and mopping the deck constantly.

Family vacation
Resort definitely needs some upgrading. Everyone got food poisoning at one point. Food was ok, not great. Some nice meals . Salmon at the Italian restaurant was a family favourite. Daughter and her family had to change rooms 3 times due to A/C not working, then shower ceiling was leaking.

The best all inclusive hotel that I’ve been!
What an incredible experience—100% recommended! I went with my family, including two little kids (2 and 5 years old), and they had a blast at the Kids Club! There are activities for all ages, so you’ll never be bored. Each day has a special theme, and the shows are absolutely amazing—the Neon Party was beyond expectations! I also loved the fun, young vibe of the hotel. The food is really good, with tons of options for breakfast and lunch. For dinner, there are four specialty restaurants offering delicious dishes and excellent customer service. The rooms are a bit dated, but honestly, you don’t spend much time there—and they have everything you need. The pools are great, and the beach is clean and warm. The only downside is that the hotel doesn’t include umbrellas. They will renovate the place soon, so hopefully they will add a playground for kids, warmer pools, and umbrellas! Other than that, everything was perfect!

Well cared for, friendly staff,
The resort grounds, pools and buildings were clean and well cared for. The beach was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the resort building and pools needed some care, attention, and restoration, it is due for a facelift in the coming months. The rooms are basic with occasional issues (some of the dresser drawers were broken and 1 of our friend groups had an uncomfortable bed), but have all of the necessary amenities. I would like to give it a 5, but the need for a facelift and the occasional issues indicate that a 4 would be a more honest representation of our trip.
