We enjoyed it so much in 2023, that we returned in 2025. It was amazing to see everything they have built in the last 2 years. (A whole new section) We absolutely love this resort. Can't wait to visit again!

Feb 10, 2025Bad arrival at airport tui reps didn’t know what they were doing
Although we checked in on line from home on arrival from airport with Tui ….coach we were on was not fit for travel having no suspension and a bad gear box ! Therefore as we were in so much pain we did not Que at reception ( not even offered a welcome drink ) we waited knowing we had booked our room before arrival ! BUT this was either given to another guest as receptionist apologised and said we’d have to move rooms next day at 3 pm . The room had two double beds ( not king as ordered) broken toilet cracked basin and bathe shower awful and only hand towels no cosmetics… safe broken and air conditioning broken patio door unable to lock this a concern as we were ground level but due to waiting 90mins on coach at airport for people who had obv taken taxi and waiting nearly 2 hrs for bags at airport …. We were so late arriving we went straight to bed ….

Riu Guanacaste review
we only have 2 complaints about the room of 6205 1- we had a problem with the safe not locking. we went to the desk and they sent a maintenance person who could not fix the problem was going to check with his supervisor but the next day was still not fixed and hadn't heard anything. went back to desk again and they were going to send someone it took over and hour for someone to come we were told 20 minutes. finally they just gave us a new safe which we feel should have happened after the first guy couldn't fix it. wasted our time of relaxation. 2- we never complained about but when we would flush our toilet the whole room would smell like raw sewage. so we just learned to shut the lid and close the door to keep the smell out our living quarters.

Great vacay
The staff, rooms and facilities were great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had a great waiter in the buffet restaurant named Christian. His service was impeccable

This ban on alcohol starts the Thursday prior to Easter and runs through Easter Sunday. A few hotels purchase special permits to serve alcohol, but generally it is not available. In addition, most restaurants, shops, and bars will be closed for the same time period. Restaurants in the hotels will be operating. The City Tour will not be operating.
