Apr 30, 2025Lovely place, lovely staff
We stayed for a week to celebrate a significant family birthday. I contacted the hotel beforehand to request twin rooms close to each other as we had 2 children. When we arrived there was no suitable rooms available, which was disappointing, but the receptionist organised some for the next night. Unfortunately that meant we'd have to check out the next day at 12 and check back in at 3pm so the start of our holiday was in a bit of limbo, not being able to unpack then having to trek all our cases about. We didn't sleep well after a very long journey the first night. The new rooms were great though - spacious, well equipped and clean & comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the fridge but otherwise it was quiet & good blackout curtains. We were on the side of the hotel and had a lovely view. There was a great surprise from the hotel on the big birthday day which was such a lovely touch. The staff were lovely, appreciative of us trying to speak some Spanish. There were always staff around cleaning & maintaining the property, and all friendly, I was impressed. The pools areas were great and the waiters there were so lovely. The only tiny comment on drinks was that the ice wasn't always very well blended in the cocktails, but otherwise they were really good. We ate at the main buffet & Bamboo. We really liked Bamboo and found a good selection at the buffet there, especially the sushi. The main buffet had some good things too, some things got cold quickly but we tended to get to breakfast and dinner quite soon after they opened when it was quieter and fresher. This was mainly to avoid other guests as we saw some appalling behaviour, from both young and old. None of this is the hotel's fault though. We went to the waterpark but were disappointed not to be able to use goggles as we had especially purchased prescription ones. The slides weren't for the faint hearted! The kids waterpark was good fun. Nice to have some loungers & shade at the parks. We had wonderful weather but there was a breeze and the sea was quite lively. It's not the kind of place to snorkel from the beach. We were unable to use any of the AI watersports due to the breeze, which was disappointing; it was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Overall we had a great trip and we would choose Riu again, as we have before. I particularly like the small touches - little cocktail stands or icecream stands or circus shows by the pool that pop up randomly.

Great family vacation!
We just returned and had a great time! The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The food and drinks were also really good. We preferred the buffet to the ala carte restaurants. They didn't seem very special or have anything that was above and beyond but good enough. The beds are just doubles so we were concerned when we walked in the room as we are a family of four but we got two cots ordered to the room and it all fit well. Seating by the pool could be hard to find if you showed up later but we always found something. Beach was beautiful! My only gripe that prevented giving a five star review was the entertainment. Out of all the all inclusives I've been to this had the worst entertainment and if you weren't into that after it got dark there wasn't anything else to do. Other resorts I've been to have brought in vendors or had tennis or something at night. Made our nights feel a bit long. The resort is also quite far for excursions.

Amazing! The main restaurant was really good. Good service at the pool. Freddy and Ady. Both A+ all week long. Waterslide really fun an safe for the kids Riu party! Everyone should try. The beach was really clean Great memories

Everything I Expected!
I celebrated my 50th Birthday at Riu Dunamar, and everything was as expected! Room was clean, view was awesome, service was quick and friendly! On my birthday, I came back to a fully decored room, with streamers and balloon, and a cake made out of towels! I had chocolate waiting for me! It was very beautiful and thoughtful! I really enjoyed my five days there!

Great service, Good food and special attention to Gluten Free option and menu. Long walkable beach ! Lots of chairs ! Thank you !
