Mar 26, 2025Beautiful and surprisingly clean
We came with family and friends. We had three separate rooms and they got all of our rooms on the same level plenty of staff to make drinks or wait on you for food. We never had a dirty plate sitting in front of us for longer than 30 seconds the amount of staff that was at this resort was amazing. We never waited or wanted for anything Overall the resort is beautiful. The rooms are a little outdated and the plugs didn’t work great but that’s the only complaint we had otherwise very family friendly plenty of space never waited in lines. We will definitely come back.

Mar 26, 2025Honest Review: Average Resort with Poor Customer Service
I visited this resort with low expectations due to the reviews, and overall, I’d say it was just average. The property itself was nice, but the customer service was extremely disappointing. One major issue was the lack of attentiveness when requesting basic amenities. Every time I asked for water in the room, I had to ask multiple times or go to the front desk myself because they simply wouldn’t accommodate the request. Additionally, a frustrating incident occurred when my friend lost his phone at the Riu party. The front desk staff directed us to another hotel to retrieve it, but when my friend arrived, it turned into a huge ordeal just to get his own phone back. When I asked for assistance from the same staff member who initially sent us there, he was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. The manager was equally dismissive—he didn’t listen to my side of the story at all, instead only hearing the employee’s version of events. While the resort itself was decent, the poor customer service left a bad impression. If you value good service, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Loved my stay at Riu Bambu
Loved my stay at Riu Bambu A special thank you to Carlos from Hibachi Guerrero, Disla and Elianny from colonial. Thank you also too Luigi and Carlito for our warm welcome at reception. They all made our holiday extra special and we are thankful to them all.

Mar 25, 2025A Nice getaway from the cold weather in Canada.
Resort - A good layout allows for walks through a lush landscape. Palm trees are everywhere throughout the walkways. All the amenities are close to the beach and rooms further inland. I liked this because we could stay down near the beach/pool all day and eat lunch and dinner without going back and forth through the entire resort. The staff is welcoming and polite. They love to make my son laugh and always keep you at ease with your needs and requests. We had a party going on next door at 2am. After calling the front desk they were asked to keep it down by phone. They continued the party... I walked to the lobby to make an in person complaint and they sent security immediately and removed the extra people from the room and made sure the party was done for the night. With a 5yr old trying to sleep this response was appreciated. There's parties every night at the club area, which is fine just don't bring it back to the rooms at 2am. Pools - the pools were a perfect temperature for cooling off without it being too cold. Two larger pools with activities during the day and lit up in the evening for those who wanted to swim at night. Plenty of loungers are available, with sunshades overhead. They are all the same depth with no shallow end for kids. But there is a kids pool with waterslides and sprinklers. The water park is great for a days fun, for kids there's the play structure with slides etc. And the bigger slides are quite fun for older folks. Beach - perfect! Food - As most would say it's hit or miss. The daily hot meat service was always good, roast beef, ham, seafood, chicken. Salad bar was great, lots of options. Dessert was repetitive but delicious, ice cream was the go to for our 5yr old. But cakes and tarts were plentiful. Fruit was always fresh and juicy, could eat those all day. As for the rest it was just 'meh' lots of the same stuff with daily changes in meats. I liked the jerk chicken the most. My wife never had a problem with seafood options, fish and scallops were always good. We had the steakhouse restaurant dinner, it was huge portions and delicious. Rooms - nothing special but quite nice. Shower leaks out into bathroom since the door is not quite functional for that. It swings closed but not latch to secure it so it let's water drip out. Mini bar is a nice touch measures shots automatically.Rooms are clean and functional. Although the outlets seem to be set back to far and doesn't allow full contact of plugs. Haven't seen a single bug in the room or buffet hall, nor mold in the room. It's a humid climate so it would be expected if there were any. AC works well and fridge stocked daily. No complaints... Overall a nice place to stay. Nothing spectacular about it. But very comfortable and welcoming for a small family vacation.

Republica Dominicana Experience - Riu Bambu
It was my first time at Dominican Republic and Riu Bambu Hotels and Resort and the experience was fantastic and memorable. The beach and the vibe is so fabulous. The amenities are great and the nightly entertainment is enjoyable. There are 6 restaurants that we tried in our 5 days stay and the buffet are generic and almost too common and repetitive but the Kulinarium 4 course meal and Hibachi dinner was splendid.
