    Horrible experience!

My husband and I vacationed from Apr 5-12, 2025. We travel alot and usually stay at a 4.5 -5 star but we thought we'd give this place a try as the reviews were decent and pics looked great. Unfortunately we made a big mistake on this place, this is the first time I've ever gave a bad review for a resort...which is not a "resort", is an all inclusive "hotel". We have rated this as a 3 star because there were a few good things. The staff were great although there was a major language barrier which is expected as we did go to Mexico and don't speak spanish, thanks to George for teaching us some. The view from the room was great as it was an ocean view, but unfortunately we were placed in a room with 2 beds instead of the king we requested, which ended up being a good thing as the food made me so sick I ended up in bed with travellers illness which I have never experienced before at this level, literally never left the room for 2.5 days but sick for 5 days. 6 day treatment of antibiotics required when I arrived back in Canada. What "resort" doesn't have a mini bar fridge in room!! No cold drinks for you lol. But the room was very clean, thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff. The buffet was less than mediocre, did not consist of breakfast meats at all, wieners and only breakfast safe items were omelets and fruit. Cereal was left out in containers from one day to the next. Everything else was pretty much the same everyday, very small assortment The only restaurant opened at 7:30 - 11:00 pm, 2:00 -5:00 pm and 7:30-10:00 pm. There was a snack bar from 1:00-6:00 posted but closed at 5:00 pm. So basically no food at lunchtime 12:00 or supper 5:00, this was definitely what we are used to at a "resort". Beautiful beach, well maintained. Too bad it's black flagged and no swimming in the ocean, would have been nice to know that in the resort description. There was an infinity pool, swim up bar, that was lovely. We enjoyed this for a couple of days as it wasn't too busy from Sunday - Wednesday. There was a bartender issue, he started at 11:00ish but disappeared at 11:30 - 12:30 ish for lunch...no coverage. There are rules posted but not followed unfortunately. There are alot of children at the swim up bar splashing water in your drinks, diving off the side of the pool, free kicks in the back of the head as they jump over you. I get this is a family place but there are two pool's allocated for families and the swim up bar shouldn't have kids or rules should be enforced so all vacationers can enjoy the vacation they paid for. Will never suggest this place to anyone unfortunately as it is one of the only small resorts in this area.

Vacation and much needed dental surgery

It all started on March 26/2025 - April 3/25 We arrived at the Zihautenajo airport and was received by the Posada Hotel General Manger Salvador Rodarte as he knew my wife was having dental implant surgery the next day. Check in was smooth we were in our room and into our swimsuit within 20 minutes arriving at the hotel. Our rooms were clean beyond immaculate with a little towel animal decorations every day. Our compliments to the housekeeping staff. I can’t say enough of how Salvador leads his staff to perfection on a daily basis. For a small resort, we’ve had first class service and first class food selection, of course breakfast always the best. We have now found a new home here at the Posada. Being we are in a smaller resort each staff member knows us by room number and by name. The pools are amazing with one having a swim up bar. The beach and Ocean are some of The best I’ve seen. We witness the state inspection on the beach sand in front of the resort, there wasn’t so much as a toothpick found in the sand. I highly recommend this resort for fun and relaxation. My most sincere thank you to Salvador and his Staff, bless you all till we see you again.

Great smaller resort with all that you need.

Ten of us headed to Posada Real Ixtapa to escape the cold. We were looking for a smaller, no frills resort and that's exactly what we got. A lot of care and attention was brought to keeping the hotel lobby, halls, rooms, pool, restaurant and grounds clean. The staff was super friendly and all had a great time. There's no fancy shows in the evening, but they do have a solo person singing in the lounge every day. There's one restaurant, snack bar, pool bar and bar in the lounge. The resort gets quiet about 10:30 when the bar shuts down. All rooms have a balcony, half face the ocean, the other half faces the front of the hotel. There's two pools - infinity pool (with bar) facing the ocean and a smaller pool that has a shallow portion for kids and volleyball net if that's more your speed. Check-in / check-out was quick and simple. Beach is amazing and great for morning walks. You'll often see whales (thoughtout the day) and turtles (at night). We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay. We walked into "downtown" Ixtapa a couple times and found some great lounges.

    Low budget hotel

We arrived to the hotel at 12 am there was a long check in line no drinks or water was offered , they didnt give us access to food or drinks until 3 pm the front desk staff very un welcome. At the same time 2 buses arrived with people a nightmare. Going to the pool no place to lay down or sit same case in the beach all full they dont have enoughchairs. The only ones they have broken or in poor conditions. We got the all inclusive aldo long lines to get a drink and alcohol quality is very poor, food is also low budget the snack bar only offered hot dogs and hamburgers as well as nachos with horrible tasting cheese The buffette only offers 4 juices wich are not natural and barely 6 dishes wich are pretty bad the first dinner was terrible so we definately decided the next 5 days to go outside the hotel to get a decent dinner . They have a small putting range and they dont even have putters to use the give you pitching wedges and old balls. The rooms are old with poor maintainance there is no music any were no live music at night If you are expecting something enjoyable , good food and service this is not the place

    Stay

Nice hotel great location. Ocean view with balcony. Limited menu for non all inclusive. Rooms very clean with good amenities. Hot water plentiful, wifi worked well in room. Hotel needs to enforce no smoking policy! Numerous smokers under the palapas!
