Good Overall But Needs a Few Tweaks
Adult only hotel but you can eat in the 2 sister hotels located a short walk from this hotel. Peaceful area, lots of wildlife wandering around the hotel complex. Very close to beach - sunbeds available but not really enough. Weather was variable - either very sunny 28-29deg or raining - torrential . Quite humid as well. Trouble with the rain is that there is not much to do in the hotel or places to sit in the hotel other than your own room. There is an area with a bar in it but often the seats get wet with the rain. Beach towels were provided but only one. The sun loungers beside the pool had thick padded cushions which were not waterproof and absorbed water like a sponge - then when you sat on them you got wet! Not ideal when you only got one towel. Sit on the towel to reduce the wetness then you had nothing to dry off with if in the pool. Often the wet beach towels would be taken away from your room and not replaced. We asked a couple of times at the concierge desk and both times we got 1 towel - not ideal when there are two people in the room. I travelled with a female friend and when booking did not get the choice of twin or superking size - then when we got to the hotel was told only room with superking size available. They could have made up the sofa bed but did not do this. Food - there are several restaurants on site and a buffet. There is one that you have to pay for - didn't try it. Unfortunately the menus never changed so became a bit boring. Also could take a couple of hours for a 3 course meal meaning we missed some of the evening entertainment. Went across to the other hotels a couple of times the second week of our holiday and wished we had done it earlier - the food was better and the service was much quicker. However you have to plan in advance and get the concierge to pre book your tables at the other hotels a couple of days in advance. There is a buffet which provided a wide range of different foods every day. Often the food choices did not seem to flow together. The desserts were lovely and there was ice cream available at lunch and dinner - usually 3 varieties. Entertainment - during the day there were activities organised round the pool. Bingo, pool foam parties(on a Saturday), water volleyball, bracelet making, and others. There was a small sports facility a little walk from the main complex offering paddle boarding, air rifle shooting, baseball ball machine and archery. The rifle shooting and archery were alternate days and only available for 1 hour. If lots of people turned up for it then you did not get much of an opportunity to try it. There was also a golf area - 2 short holes but the "green" was just the same as the fairway - not close cut. Table tennis was only available at the pool area for the table tennis tournament - not all the time. Evening Entertainment - various dancing shows occurred at night - the dancers were good and quite professional. There were also various ats that came in - a fire show, a mexican band, singers etc. It soon became apparent that the same music was played by all the performers at every performance. Just like in the nightclub - the salsa bar became the nightclub at 11pm and ran til 1am. Unfortunately the music played didn't change much at all. Lots of Spanish style and Abba, Bee Gees, Grease, etc. Not much up to date. many nights the DJ cleared the dance floor with the selection of music played. They would not change. So if anyone from the hotel reads this Please get the DJ's to update their sets and change the music nightly - there is so much music out there that to play the same music every night is just lazy. Ironically any night that the entertainment staff were in the nightclub the music set was better ( but still repetitive). Also Spanish music tends to be very up tempo and it is difficult to dance to this all night - should consider interspersing international with Spanish to cater for more tastes. The DJ could see that no-one was dancing yet did not change things - he seemed upset when I went up to ask him to play different music ( did this more than once and it did not make a difference!) Wildlife - there are Coatis running around the complex and they do run around the areas your rooms are in. They will come up stairs basically looking to get food from the bins. They will run round the pool area and will run off with anything resembling food if you leave it unattended. They are protected animals so don't expect the hotel to do anything about them. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone. Keep your balcony doors shut as they have ninja like powers! I have a great photo of one in a palm tree! We also saw several iguanas, geckos and deer, not to mention the different birds flying around. We also saw one snake! The hotel is quite spread out - accommodation blocks can be a little walk from the main area with the buffet/restaurants. So bear this in mind if you have mobility problems. The rooms were spacious and bed was huge. There was a sofa bed and a table and chairs. The fridge had soft drinks and beer and was replenished daily. 3 small (not miniature) bottles of alcohol were also in the room for your consumption. We had a double shower room and a a bath with 2 hand sinks. The toilet was separate which was handy. The balcony was a good size. There were 2 chairs on the balcony - sun loungers would have been better and there was plenty room for them. There were swim up rooms on the ground floor but be aware the pools are not exclusive - anyone can use them. All inclusive - saw several people who had overindulged in alcohol and one lady was pulled out of the pool almost unconscious. People were taking their drinks into the pool with them. I found this a bit off putting ( but then I am older). I don't think the younger guests realised how much alcohol was in the cocktails they were drinking! The hotel is gated with security at the gate and a big wall round it - pretty much like every other hotel in the area. Walking out with the hotel is probably not advisable, A hotel shuttle is available to take you into Playa del Carmen - from here you can get a ferry to Cozumel. Playa Del Carmen (tourist area) is basically a long street with a lot of tourist shops and a couple of shopping malls. The shuttle costs $5 each way - a taxi from the hotel costs Mx400 so approx $20 - but gives you freedom - you can choose what time you go in /come back. We had 4 people in our group so financially no difference. The staff at the main entrance will book a taxi for you. Staff - Hard working and plentiful. Housekeeping - there never seemed to be a regular time they came to do your room - most days it was after lunchtime but sods law was the night we had a very late night they appeared at quarter to 9! Our friends had a do not disturb sign in their room but out room did not have this - they also had a bag from the hotel where we did not have this either. Same class of room! So all in all enjoyed my stay but 2 weeks was too long. Sorting the lack of beach towels and changing the menus would improve the experience and getting the DJ to have different sets every night would be a real improvement.

Amazing Resort
I stayed here for one week for the first time, and would definitely recommend it. The resort was great, not too busy but always lots to do. Rooms were very nice, spacious, and always clean. Food was great. All 4 restaurants plus the buffet were all very good. All the Bar, Restaurant, and other hotel staff were friendly welcoming But extra thanks to the entire entertainment crew at the pool who were amazing everyday, especially Luna, who always made the events at the bar or the pool activities a ton of fun. Overall a really great vacation and will definitely be back!

Great hotel
The hotel was fantastic, with a great staff and a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious, even though the hotel was clean and nice. The only thing I noticed was that there was a Coke bottle in the poolside pot plant outside room 5029. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Beautiful vacations
Excellent service, food. Spa massage was professional and just what I needed! Thank you Evelin! The beach is ok. Very small, and rocky. Pretty and relaxing though. Lots of wild life on the resort, birds, deer, iguanas and waccoons. I will visit again!

Aroma Resturant
We stayed at the platinum yucatan princess one of three sister resorts in Mexico. Great place. My group enjoyed the Aroma Resturant. Food was perfect as well as the ambiance. Fernando was top shelf. Thanks for making the experience special.
