Avoid at all costs - spend your money elsewhere
AVOID!!!!! You’ve been warned Resort and upkeep is amazing but staff leave a lot to be desired Items stolen and hotel refused to review cctv footage of stolen valuables - you do the maths why this might be the case. Refused to let me take a copy of the incident form and also refused to let me speak to management. (Mr Jorett) which are all very reasonable requests avoid at all costs. NEVER EVER RECOMMEND!!!!!!! Avoid!!! Meliá - you need to review which hotels use your brand name as its the worst experience I’ve ever had

Elvis Santa Maria- Paradisus Beach Service
Elvis Santa Maria had been serving us on the beach every day of our vacation. After the first day, he had our chairs set with towels prior to our arrival on the beach. His service has been top notch. It has been such a pleasure to have someone look after us the way that he has. 10 of 10

A True vacation
We have come twice now to Mascalzone to eat and this place has the best servers! Wilmina is so good and cheerful. She recommended the pasta we ordered and paired it with a fantastic wine from Chile. She kept checking on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We will be back again before we leave 🙂! It made our stay at Palma Real very pleasant!!

Worst never back again
Probably the worst experience I ever had in my life outside or inside a Resort. This guy keybyn entertainment supervisor was trying to take my 15 years daughter to a bathroom to touch her or do something else thank god she could scape from him. He was always pretending to be the good guy around the pool please people be careful with this guy.

CHOOSE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!
We went at the end of July into August and stayed for 7 days. This place is beautiful and superficially, it is everything you will read about it. Take a deeper look, please. Pros: Pretty facility Lovely pools Comfortable beds The coffee bar has good smoothies Cons: The staff HATES Americans (English speakers). They are resentful and the distain is just below the surface. There is lots of food at meal times, but little of it tastes good- especially for young kids. It is loud. If you have young kids who go to bed at normal kid hours, it is a struggle. The beach IS NOT PRIVATE. You will be approached all the time by locals selling, peddling, pressuring you. One vendor literally walked up to me and my 9 y/o on the beach and put a macaw on her head, took photos with my phone/camera and then asked for $45 a photo (he took many). He was pushy and rude when I refused. Hope to whoever-you-want-to that you do not need to leave the resort for anything. We did. My daughter's bag didn't make it so we had to go to Jumbo via the over-priced transportation provided by the resort. The moment you leave the resort it is so apparent you (we) are in a place being exploited by non-indigenous people it is sad. In case you aren't aware, the DR is a poor country with little opportunity. The excursions are SO EXPENSIVE. The scuba excursion we took (via the resort's guidance and booking) was 1 hour of scuba diving and 2 hours of loud music on a boat with lots of alcohol. I felt for the folks on it with kids of any age. We had a cockroach in our room. The shower water just stops at times- still unclear why this happened but it did, twice The exercise facility is VERY small and crowded at most times a person would want to use it (I tried AM, lunch and PM- always crowded).
