    Beautiful Resort

The breakdown: Staff 5/5. Everyone was extremely friendly. We enjoyed sitting in the evenings talking with bar tenders and wait staff. The resort was very quiet for our stay. Resort aesthetics/ room 5/5 The resort and our room was beautiful. Resort was clean and well kept. Lobbies and restaurants were great. I love the vibrant colors of the pool chairs. Food 4.5/5 I appreciate the variety of food and had something different each day. Oro is the best and recommended if you can dine there more than once. I had a lobster tail, husband had filet mignon, both delicious. Brisa has an amazing view. I recommend you take advantage of activities at the resort/ rum and chocolate pairings, paint and sip. I wish the staff would go around and let people know when things were happening. I would have loved water aerobics but missed it and never heard it happening. Some recommendations for the resort- add variety to evening entertainment- it was basically 80s pop and yacht rock every night. I was born in the 70s so works for me but not so much a younger crowd. If I brought my 23 year old daughter she would have been bored. Another recommendation let people know when they check in they can visit the sister resort, we didn’t know this until our last day and it was too late. - It also would be nice if a shuttle was offered to Oisten’s or a market. I love to do some shopping and there was nothing nearby, I had to do my souvenir shopping at the airport. The front desk did set us up with a nice Catamaran day trip. - The negative would be the beach. It had so much seaweed coming in you didn’t want to swim and water was rough. Plenty of chairs on the beach but not many takers because no one wanted to swim in it. The resort could use more chairs at the adult pool. I got up at 7 and most chairs were claimed by then, so we had to go to the family pool where I tried reading a book in my chair but kept getting splashed by the kids playing in the nearby pool.

    Little Things

As an experienced all-inclusive resort traveler, I would say this is one of the best. However, there are “little things” that stop this resort from being the best that it could be. The grounds are beautiful. The beach and ocean is right at the edge of the resort. This resort is immaculately kept. Beware of deceptive spa charges during final checkout of the resort . I was charged additional costs despite what was published on the web and told to me by the spa staff. Continuing on the theme of deception, despite requesting wash cloths several times and being told that they would be provided, none were - until a complaint to the front desk. Little thing, but why the difficulty for such a simple request? Food: The Oro Restaurant is their fine dining option. Despite listing their fish as fresh catch of the day, the fish was fresh frozen at best. N.Y. Strip at Elements was flank steak. Again little things. However on a resort of this caliber I expect more honesty. Overall the food was hit or miss. There were too many buffets for dinner. Although the food was of good quality, it was never hot so the flavor suffered. Breakfast was very good but lacked variety and ended strictly at 10am- no exceptions. Drinks: They were consistently made and the bartenders were friendly. They had a great rum punch! Entertainment: Evenings were great because there were singers every night. They sang a good variety of songs. Worker’s attitudes is a big part of all inclusive and here it was a mix bag. Most would greet you with a smile and care while some acted like it was your fault they had to be there. Workers spent too much time talking among themselves. Again another little thing is that it was difficult to get coffee with breakfast because the workers would not ask. One extremely friendly and very helpful hostess was named Carolann. They need her to train others. Because the resort is small you end up meeting a lot of nice people there. The place has a great atmosphere. However, it could use more vibe during the day with music. For example a guest requested that the music at the Tiki bar be increase because it was literally at a whisper. They and we were told no by the bar manager . Again little things. In summary I recommend this place if you keep some of your expectations in line about the level of this resort. Management was helpful during our stay, but they need to be more visible. I am hopeful that they will work on the “little things” for our future next visit.

    Fabulous Resort!

Hotel is beautiful, the grounds are really picturesque and the rooms excellent. The restaurants were all great, menus vary across the week giving great choice. Oro is exceptional. The service provided at this hotel is outstanding and all members of staff contribute to that with their friendliness. Beach is beautiful but unfortunately rocky to get into the sea. Bars are very good but if you are a Barcardi drinker it is not available you have to pay for it which is unusual when this resort has all other premium brands. We definitely visit again!!!

    Mediocre at Best

O2 doesn't have a lot to talk about, it was just there. The hotel is located in an area without much activity, to include no water sports. The beach is small and somewhat rocky and the water is pretty rough. While the room was decent and included a sitting area, a small kitchen and separate bedroom, the bedroom should have been in the front facing the ocean vice along the hallway with windows looking out to the hallway - that was odd. Air conditioning and wifi were very good. The room size was good, as was the bathroom and the balcony. If the bedroom hadn't faced the hallway, I would give the rooms a better rating as they were actually pretty nice. Food at the specialty restaurant Oro was fantastic. Service, cocktails and the food were top notch. If you go, I recommend you make dinner reservations for each night. Bluefin was terrible. The service was bad as the waiters preferred to socialize with each other vice serving the guests. The food from the menu was mediocre and the buffet food was inedible. Delivery of food was slow; I only went there one evening for the buffet that I ended up having two bites and proclaiming I could not eat it. And I went there one day for lunch that sealed the deal on me not going back. Everyone, including the other couple that went with us, said service was extremely slow and it usually took an hour to have your food delivered to your table. We walked off property but there wasn't really anything to see or do. There were a couple of tourist trap trinket shops and some local restaurants/bars. Other than that, not much to say about the area. The hotel did not have any included water sports so other than laying out in the sun, not much to do. The pool was pretty small and they never staffed the swim up bar at the adult pool, You had to get out of the pool to get a drink, which honestly isn't a big deal, but if you have the swim up bar, staff it so the patrons can use it. Drinks were mediocre, other than at Oro, as they all had an odd aftertaste. They do not serve top shelf liquors, I'd give their bar service a 2.5 out of 5. While it was nice to relax for a few days, I'm glad we didn't have a longer stay. This hate, and Barbados writ large is a once and done for us.

    Great Value!

Great value and service! Beautiful place! Staff was friendly and they had a lot to offer. The beach was a little rough, but that didn't deter us. There were local beaches that gave us the calm waters we needed, and the pools made up for the rough water.
