Hoped for better service with Privilege
We spend 7 days with Privilege option. The property is not new, but in good condition. The landscape is beautiful. The food in the buffet was very good. Good variety and taste. The beach is big enough, but the water is not very attractive. And there is wooden fence in the midddle, between the sand and water, which makes the beach not attractive. The stuff is helpfull, especially in restorant and at the beach. The room service was so-so. Sometimes the cleaning was done around dinner time, and new towels came close to 10 pm. The main problem was that on the first night there was a power outage. The backup generator engaged, and the noise from it was terrible, almost deafening. In addition, there was also a second generator from the hotel next to it. Our building (#7) happend to be between the two generatiors. It was impossible to sleep. It was a turture by sleep deprivation. I asked about some kind of compensation for the lost night, but did not get any answer.

First resort we will return to.
My husband and I have been looking for a resort that we would return to and this is it!! Food, beach, service, and room were all excellent. Bed was super comfortable and lots of pillows. Room didn’t come with a heavier blanket (for me) and one was brought right away. Didn’t have any problem getting loungers by the beach or beach towels. We didn’t do privilege and didn’t feel like we missed out at all. We tried room service one night for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. Can’t wait to go back!!

We made the best of it after my husband got food poisoning on our second night
My husband and I came here over Christmas and New Year's and it was our first time at this resort. The free airport shuttle was very convenient. The resort is adults-only which was great and we won't ever do a family resort again! It's a fairly small resort which we prefer and the grounds were beautiful. We very much enjoyed seeing the iguanas, cereque, coati and various species of birds. Our room was nice, clean and on ground level so I was a little concerned about insects getting in, but we didn't have any issues. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't eat any fish, poultry or meat. I found that I had a lot of choices, however sometimes the signs for food were incorrect at the buffet so I had to be very careful. Unfortunately, my husband got food poisoning on our second night, he thinks from the ceviche at the Mexican restaurant. When we brought our concerns to Guest Services the next day they didn't seem very concerned and they said no one else reported anything. When I went back to Guest Services the day after that to inquire about medication for my husband as he still wasn't feeling well, she told me that the onsite store sells meds. We paid $28 CDN for 24 tablets of Pepto-Bismol! Had we thought of it at the time, we would have reported it directly to the restaurant as I suspect they may have taken it more seriously. Needless to say, this put a damper on our vacation as my husband was sick until the day we left and he could only eat limited food and drinks. We made the best of it by relaxing by the pool/beach for a few days and we did the walk to the lagoon with Viri who was very energetic and friendly. We participated in Bingo, live music, some of the evening entertainment and the New Year's beach party which were all fun considering. We also played ping pong and air hockey and frequented Mike's Cafe for coffee and snacks. Overall, the resort itself and the staff were great, but because they didn't seem concerned at all about the food poisoning we won't go back and we won't recommend this resort to our friends and family.

3 Star Property MAYBE
I do not normally write reviews in the first 24 hours of being on the property, BUT I want to save others from booking here. If you are looking for a moderate experience this resort will meet that expectation. Within the first 5 hours on the property we were put in a room category that we did not book, we looked for a chair at the pool at 3pm in the afternoon and were told there were no chairs available and we could wait until they brought more chairs because they did not have enough for occupancy. I was also offered the option of dragging a chair out of the water in the pool and using that until more chairs were available (we did not wish to sit in the pool chairs in the water as it was chilly). As we spoke with other guests, we were told there chair game is in full play here and if you want one get down to the pool very early. There is NO service at the pool so be prepared to fetch your own drinks. This should not be the norm at a 4 star resort. We confronted the front desk about the room issue and they were unwilling to resolve the issue and even lied and told us we had an upgraded privilege room but without the privilege amenities😳 (are you kidding me). We booked a superior deluxe and we are in a small, very basic hotel room. We have stayed in over 38 resorts in the area and we know service and amenities. This hotel will not deliver. The property is tired in areas like the walkways being is disrepair, restaurants are older, pool furniture is tired. You also pay 3.00 per beer if you want more than what is provided in your mini bar fridge. They will gladly bill that to your room. I NEVER had to pay extra at an all inclusive for basic drinks to be replenished in the mini bar fridge. This is a 3 star resort folks, don’t expect much as far as service or honesty here. They also try to upsell you at dinners for higher priced cocktails (Japanese restaurant charges for Sopporo and most Saki) Time share is in full swing here too. Beware. Want a nice 4 star, check out Majestic Elegance, or the Secrets Properties. They know how to deliver.

A fun trip
Overall, I was impressed with the resort. I met many very nice guests, and the employees were all very friendly. Housekeeping always did an excellent job cleaning the room. I requested an umbrella in my room & then requested a repair on the sliding glass door lock. Both items were taken care of quickly. The bar service was always good, but I would suggest using fresh fruits instead of syrup in the tropical drinks. I spent most of my time at the beach which I enjoyed. Walking the beach was wonderful. I spent a few days at the pool, and as others have mentioned, the pool lounge chairs were reserved in the early morning hours by guests that often didn't show up until afternoon. I could always find food to my liking. There was plenty to choose from at each sitting. There was an exceptional lamb dish (I think it was Indian) at the buffet one day that was my favorite food of the trip. I did appreciate that you didn't need to make reservations for the specialty restaurants (except the hibachi tables in the Japanese restaurant). A suggestion which would have made my trip a bit nicer as a solo guest, would be to have a solo traveler get together a few times a week.
