Dec 23, 2024Beware of poor customer service
Beware when you reserve here. I paid my deposit. I went and they did not have air conditioning because of a hurricane. It was in the 80's. This was not acceptable. I was given a choice of rescheduling (after I had flown in) or getting a refund. I chose the refund and was given an email address to ask for my refund. I did. They have so far refused to give my refund saying they are "looking into it". Unfortunately, this is the second time they have done this to me. There will not be a third.

We just spent two weeks in Occidental Cozumel and want to give a shout out to the staff in Royal Club! Alejandra and Odalys were so kind and helpful! Also thank you Hector and Maricruz! We can’t wait to come back!!! The rooms are beautiful and spacious and the beach and water can’t be beat!

We really enjoyed the food and the staff. The snorkeling, beach,pools were excellent. The only complaint would be there are no balconies and little outdoor sitting areas for pre dinner or after dinner socializing and drinks. Otherwise a great relaxing experience.

Never again
This property is boring with not much to do. Food is just OK. Front desk staff is terrible. I have stayed at Barcelo properties before I will not stay at this one again. There are better resorts in Cozumel

Another wonderful stay at Occidental
I stayed Royal level with 7 other diver friends. The food alone at Royal is well worth the extra cost. We were treated so well. Looking forward to returning soon. The grounds look even better than they did in the past. They really take great care of the property.
