we weren't expecting a five star since we knew this resort is older and had checked it out on line prior to arriving. The service was very good and the food was good in the Mole and Tacos that we ate at every breakfast and once at the Fish House. We were in the premium ocean front room so we were able to eat Ala carte instead of the buffet which we never tried during our 3 day stay. The resort is right on the marina and very short walking distance to other restaurants to visit so we tried that one night. The staff definitely make this worth your while.

Nice resort for families and rest.
This is a nice resort. Very quiet, polite staff, very good food. As some other reviews state, the rooms are dated but clean and functional. We had one little hiccup which was handled by guest services promptly and well. I really only have two points which made this less than a 5 star experience. 1) the drinks were not very good... they serve premixes for things like pina coladas and the like, which werent very good. I was kind of expecting fresher drinks. 2) the hotel is quiet, but it was a little too quiet for me. Its geared towards families, and that is fine. Once darkness sets in, the place really dies off. Again, not a bad thing if thats what you want, just felt a little boring most evenings. Overall a very good experience, and depending on the group I was with, I would stay again.

Great family resort, good food, nice big pool. Only, comment I would make is that the kids events and shows are primarily in spanish. My kids didn't mind and still had a great time. The pool chairs are first come first serve but most are claimed before the pool opens, this is a situation where you either be part of the problem and claim your chairs early against the rules or you miss out on good chairs at the pool.

Beautiful Resort
Beautiful resort. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our first room was a little dingy but they moved us right away to a much nicer room with no issues. The food at the buffet and restaurants was excellent. It was nice to be able to walk around the shops and restaurants at the marina across the street. We would definitely stay here again!

We felt very welcomed throughout our stay. I want to thank David from the Concierge Services for taking the time in explaining all the activities available us. My son, 5 years old, had the most fun time at the kids club. Overall, we had an awesome time vacationing at Meliá.
