Jan 01, 2025You too can live in a Puerto Rican Night Club…
It’s like living in a Puerto Rican night club from 10AM - 1AM. You can’t get away from the thumping music. Incessant. You can even hear it in the spa and on the beach. It’s 94 decibels at the main pool according to the warning I received on my watch. Stress inducing the entire time. We couldn’t wait to get off the property. Bring earplugs for sleeping, although they don’t help with the sub-woofers. Also, there are not enough pool/beach chairs or dinner reservations available for the number of rooms. Get reservations way in advance if you want to eat on the property. And assign someone to reserve your chairs early each morning (7AM is too late). Towels don’t work for reserving chairs. You must leave a personal item to reserve a chair according the concierge. Not an inexpensive resort, we expected a much higher-end experience. Or at least a moment of relaxation. On our first night we returned to the room at 4:45 to shower and get ready for the evening but the housekeeping staff was just beginning to clean our room. Nearly an hour later we returned to find no hot water. There was a projector with a “Happy New Year” message displayed on the large dome at the center of the hotel. At some point the projector slid down so you could only read the top half of the word ”Happy.” That put a stop to the photos people were taking. It gets worse. The New Years Celebration had some kind of problem. The band didn’t start until 11:30PM. The lead singer was ignoring impassioned arm waving and yelling by the hotel staff, so they missed the countdown to midnight. A drone show was timed with the countdown displaying a timer in the sky. The band then yelled out a countdown about a minute after midnight and then the drones counted down again a minute after that. People were confused and laughing. Amateur hour. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and always cordial.

Brian, was elite! Probably one of the best bar tenders I ever had. Please come see him! He was extremely helpful, kind and friendly to all his guest. Always smiling and happy to be there. Probably one of the best humans we interacted with! Come see him!

Great service
Brian at Sol Meliá made our New Year’s Eve unforgettable! His exceptional service, friendly vibe, and attention to detail were top-notch. Cheers to a great night thanks to him! Highly recommend! He was the best! Recomed him and ask for him!

First the good. Visually it is a nice property, well kept with nicely manicured grounds and 2 good looking pools and a decent beach. Also a great location near to San Juan, the main airport and El Yunque National Forest. Staff was pleasant enough. However. Extremely crowded. Not enough pool chairs. Not enough restaurants, which are mediocre at best and extremely overpriced. Can’t even get a cup of coffee without waiting 10 to 20 minutes. Also, don’t come here for peace and quiet. Thumping music all over the property at practically all hours. Lots of screaming kids. Leaf blowers and golf carts. Overall, it’s OK for a few days in the sun, but they could do so much more with this property.

Amazing staff!
We very much enjoyed our stay. Great service - the staff (especially Sábrih and Ricardo at the lobby bar) were attentive and friendly! We feel lucky to have met these wonderful people who helped make our first trip to this property amazing. Looking forward to vacationing here again.
