Scams at resort lobby with airport transportation

Be aware with resort staff at waves lobby. I had purchased my resort stay with airport transportation. They trick me by saying that my transportation to airport had arrived at the lobby. When I get the airport the van driver is asking for $40 . I told him that I paid the airport in advance with Margaritaville. He still Demanded his money. It turns out that resort staff switched my transportation company and lied to me . I ended up paying twice for airport transportation. I reached to Margaritaville and no response back

First visit to an all inclusive met all of my expectations.

Went to Margaritaville Capa Cana from Nov 5th to Nov 13th. Was a belated honeymoon with my wife. Upon arriving at the resort we were met by our Conceirge Orlando. His job was to make sure our stay was pleasant and helped with bookings. We had him book the steak house and offsite shopping Excursion. When they found out it was our honeymoon they gave us a complimentary romantic dinner on the beach (beautiful 4 course meal on the beach with butler service). We had to choose from 4 different meal selections and they accommodated my wife's choice of gluten free menu (we both had a surf and turf with lamb and lobster). They had great selection of foods (they had an Italian restraunt, an Asian restraunt, Burger joint, Boathouse (main area for meals with buffet style with great selections). We especially loved the boathouse and the Asian restraunt. The pool was great and activities at the pool (the foam party was particulaly fun at the pool my wife loved the pool fun and fitness with a fun entertaining person who refered to himself as Coca Cola). There was music nightly (a combination of both Latin and English music). There was other entertainment such as dance shows nightly which was held in the theater across from the punch bar (you must see the Michael Jackson show which was our favourite). The service was top notched and people were warm and friendly (we brought down american bills and provided tips for service) most transactions on the resort is in american currencies and the gift store we went off resort had prices in american currency. The beach was rocky and fair bit of seaweed which as the only downside but walk down about a hundred meters to the left and the area is much nicer for swimming. It was our first time at an all inclusive and I would definitely would visit there again. Well done Margaritaville for the wonderful time spent at your resort.

Best pool and bar we have ever been to

Great resort. Best pool by far is the Salty Rim Bar Pool. Amazing service from Carlos behind the bar. Alondra takes the orders and bring drinks directly to your sun bed. She is the best most friendly efficient Waitress on Property and she makes lovely cocktails. Me and my wife will miss them both

    New Hotel, Very Bad Service!!

This is a New hotel, with good design and construction. Nice kids Pool! But the good stops there. The Management is extremely poor. Asking for Towels takes 1 hr. Room service takes 2 hrs. Food: Buffet is Not Good. Food is 2/5. Service is 1/5. Sloooooowww. No food for Vegetarians, No fish strips. No Salmon. One day No coffee, machine was broken Daytime only have buffet and a Junk fries and burger joint tuck away ! Night have different Ok Restaurants. No food delivered to the pool area. Waiters for drinks were unavailable , 1 for 250 sun chairs. Each drink took 45 minutes. Lobby has No A/C. Room A/C was off when arrived. So the Humidity and mites were terrible. 3 days we came in, @ 8pm we came back to room and was not made. had left the cleaning light on. Im feom Latin America, and understand Island laziness, But this was just Bad Management! there is 0 Training! Restaurant Kos and the asian one has never opened in our stay. 5 days Room service had 4 options of food. thats it. No activities for kids / in the pool. Ok, i get it, but 3 mts away, the Adults pool only had a party with Bubbles in the pools and dancers and kids were not allowed in. Beach looks beautiful, Full of rocks, Cannot go In. So Beach area is Abandoned. We had to walk 100 meters to the left on the shoreline to get in the ocean.

No beach, but overall a good experience.

If you want to sit on the beach every day, skip this place. The pictures they show are old ones before a hurricane destroyed what beach they had, so be aware there is NO beach at this resort, you have to walk about 1/4 of a mile to get to a decent beach. Problem with that is, you don't get a chair or umbrella or drinks or any amenities while at the beach. They pressure you like crazy to attend a discussion about joining their Prestige club. Beware, the cost is pretty high and of course they don't like to take no for an answer. They offer you a "free" message at the Spa if you go to the seminar, but I never even used mine. If you have no interest in prestige status, do not go. In reality, I might actually be interested in joining prestige, but I want to see the contract and fine print up front and get an overall assessment of what I'm buying before I sign any contract. They don't offer this option, so they won't be getting my business in prestige. The only other minor negative thing is this, they resort is away from Punta Cana and I found many of the excursions didn't offer pickup at this location. I booked two excursions while at the resort using BRX, one to Scape Park which is really awesome. Do not book the Buggy's if you go there, giant waste of time and really boring. I also booked a catamaran ride to Saona island, with snorkeling and other things. This was the sunset tour and it was a huge mistake to book this excursion. Way too long, 13.5 hours, and I regretted it. The boat crew was rude, they barely offered any food or drinks, and I really wanted to just leave 1/2 way through the trip but that wasn't an option. And just so you know, almost all excursions in the DR have become an opportunity for the tour operators to sell you ridiculously overpriced picture packages, they wanted $250 USD for the pictures from the Saona island excursion.....no thanks. Now on to why I gave this 4 stars even with the above mentioned grips. I would rate this a solid 3.5 but that's not an allowable option. The resort is beautiful, clean, and well kept. There are more swimming pools here than any other resort I've attended, at least 2 swim up bars, and a couple of hot tubs. The room I stayed in was really nice. The resort is about the perfect size, not too small and not too big. I think the bigger the resort, the worse the food and drinks are. The food here was fantastic, best food in any report so far (based on my experiences). For the most part, the staff is really nice and accommodating. They only have one restaurant that requires reservations, the steakhouse, and they only take reservations one day in advance. Unlike many resorts I've been at, I was able to get a reservation when I wanted one. The Italian restaurant was delicious, my daughter loved the pizza and I enjoyed the pasta very much. The drinks were good, you need to be prestige member to get high shelf alcohol but I was feeling very relaxed pretty much every night with the drinks they served. They have a tennis court and my daughter and I used the pickleball court (they have 2) pretty much every day. They also have a shuffleboard table and ping pong. The gym is great, if you want to work out this place is it. They had entertainment pretty much every night I was there. A band a couple of nights and a few other shows that were very entertaining (and I was there during the week, not the weekend). I would not recommend this place if you have younger kids. So, overall, I feel this was a good place. Because it's in Cap Cana (which is a fully gated and controlled community) it is very safe. I did a few jogs outside of the resort and never felt unsafe. The resort is too good for a 3, but the lack of beach really doesn't warrant a 4. I wanted to write a long review so you know what you're getting into. If I go with my girlfriend, she doesn't spend a lot of time at the beach so this resort would be perfect.
