  Family fun beach volleyball.

  Enjoyed the great and friendly competition playing beach volleyball near the ocean. Kudos to Ray for keeping us organized and creating a great atmosphere for volleyball.

  Great stay!!

  I had a GREAT stay!! Ray was very helpful and attentive!! Everything was amazing!! Favs were the OVERNIGHT buffet and the hooka lounge on the beach was a VIBE!!

  Vacation in the caribbean

  I loved the resort, it was beautiful. However I was disappointed with our room as we paid extra for ocean view and the view from the room that we were given was partial due to the trees close to the pool. We were also unable to get a reservation to any of the many restaurants even though we joined a very long line as soon as they opened the next morning. I still enjoyed my stay though as both the beach and pools were lovely. And the water park was outstanding.

  Good time with family but average resort

  Our vacation trip this year was to Corendon Mangrove Hilton, with wife and 2 children, 6 & 9, for about 10 days. We go every year and have been to many Caribbean islands including Cancun, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Bermuda, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Costa Rica, Etc. and stayed at various resorts including excellence, royalton, secrets, sun palace, RIU, and many others. This trip to Curacao was our first at a Hilton and had high hopes / expectations but I was somewhat disappointed. At time of check in, there was no welcome champagne served to make us feel welcomed. Instead, there were two self-serve pitchers to help ourselves. We did not know that being a Hilton gold member would be so advantageous. We were helped by a special guest services agent and did not have to wait in line and were able to communicate via whatsapp to request assistance conveniently. As others have pointed out, Sheina was attentive and helpful. Pros: Large waterpark. Our children and my wife had a great time at the waterpark. There are various water slides and luckily there weren't that many people when we were there, so line was not long. Decent snorkeling experience. The man-made white sand beach at the resort was decent for snorkeling. Location. The resort was only several minutes away from Willemstad, so we could just walk over and explore the downtown conveniently. Taxis are readily available but typically minimum $20+ for each trip. Cons: No blended cocktails. This was the first ever resort that did not serve blended cocktails, which I could not believe. What I personally enjoy when vacationing at these Carribean resorts are various types of cocktails, primary of which is blended cocktail drinks. I just could not believe that they did not serve blended cocktails. Their other shaken cocktails were decent. Bars were under-staffed and took long to order and get drinks. I felt bad for the servers. Alcoholic coffees. Another one of the things i personally enjoy during Carribean vacations is tasting & drinking quality alcoholic coffees. I was able to get Aloha coffee, Irish coffee, and expresso martini but that was it. No other variety. Also, some servers did not know how to make some of these coffee drinks, so had to go with what they could make. Again, servers were short-staffed and there was usually a decent wait time at the line. I feel that there needs to be more servers and servers need better training. Room issues. Water pressure was sometimes ok but sometimes very weak. There was one morning that there was no water at all and had to make a complaint for the water to resume flowing. A/C was running well but frequently temperature was lowered to unbearably cold levels and locked and we could not change. Few nights we had to bundle up and sleep. One night maintenance crew came but could not fix, so had to wait until the next morning. Restaurant issues. Sheina was very helpful in arranging our restaurant reservations, which we highly appreciated. However, there were nights when our name was not on the reservation list and had to wait until last to be seated after verifying. You have 1 hour and 30 minutes to be seated, order, eat, and leave before next round of people come in. Because of shortage of staff issue, including servers and cooks, it takes a while for servers to take your order, it takes longer for chefs to cook and the food served. Usually main course food came out about an hour or an hour and 15 minutes after seating and you had very little time to eat. There were multiple occasions when we were not served desserts because next round of people were already being seated. We were just told that they ran out of all desserts. Also notably, there was no reliable system of serving, meaning getting there early did not get you food early. Service was all up to the server. Even if you were the last person to get there, you could be the first person to order and eat first and leave first. Mediocre shows: There was one fire show that was great but other than that, karaoke night and other Spanish singers singing was not that great for me. I was expecting perhaps some variety of performances including magic shows, musical instrument performances, comedy shows, Etc. Ants issue. Throughout our stay, we had ants issues in our room. To be fair, the quantity was not overwhelming but we saw at least several each day and had to catch them everyday. Because of ants issues, water issues, a/c issues, we complained to change our rooms but they did not change. Lack of activities. Other resorts provide activities to keep customers entertained, such as ping pong competition, dart competition, and the like but this resort had none of those. Other FYIs: I felt like the 1990s while staying at the resort, meaning that there were lots of people smoking cigarettes and cigars freely in crowds, at the beaches, outdoor cafeterias and outdoor cafes, even during shows and next to children. I could not believe it. Curacao being a dutch territory, there were a lot of dutch customers and I did not know that dutch people smoked a lot. We always go vacationing around our anniversary. The resort sent a white wine and some cakes, which we greatly appreciated. However, when we returned to our room to find these kind gestures, ants already were feasting on the cake and we had to throw out the cake. I wanted to provide a honest review for future vacationers.   Terrible stay — absolutely NOT a 5-star experience

  My recent stay at Mangrove Beach was extremely disappointing. This hotel is in no way deserving of a 5-star rating. The staff were rude, unwelcoming, and generally gave the impression that they did not want to be there at all. The pools were dirty (never saw them being cleaned during our stay), and there were large holes in the ceiling by the bar area with buckets on the floor to catch dripping water — a truly shocking sight for a supposedly luxury resort. The building itself is full of cracks, mildew and in poor condition overall. Our room was just okay, but all of our clothes and bed sheets were constantly damp and clammy, making it very uncomfortable. The buffet at the Breeze restaurant was chaotic and felt more like a high school cafeteria than a resort dining experience. Every evening was a mad dash to secure a table, and the buffet area was overcrowded with people pushing and elbowing their way to the food. There is no table service whatsoever — nobody seats you, nobody asks if you want drinks, nobody cared. One evening, there weren’t even any forks available, so we had to eat with only knives. The cleaning staff took their time clearing tables, carelessly throwing plates and glasses around as if they were unbreakable. During our three-night stay, our room was never properly cleaned — the beds were simply made, but no fresh towels were provided, and the mini fridge was never restocked. Overall, the staff seemed disinterested and unprofessional, contributing to the overall negative atmosphere. I would strongly advise everyone to stay far away from this hotel. It was an absolute disappointment and a waste of (a lot of)money. Shame on you, Mangrove Beach!
