Mangrove is perfect for families!
We were pleasantly surprised by the Corendon in many respects. Three generations of our family were traveling together, including two children under the age of ten. It is the staff at the Corendon that made all the difference between a good experience and a great experience, which is why we are giving them an “excellent” rating. From the moment we began to check in, Shena and her team did an outstanding job of moving us into rooms that were close together in the same building. It was a huge help as we were going back and forth between rooms multiple times a day. Ali, Glinton and others who work the lobby helped us get oriented and settled in. Shena and her team also did an outstanding job of helping us make the appropriate restaurant reservations throughout the week—we recommend installing WhatsApp in advance and using that for communicating with the front desk team, as they seem to prefer it and it was quite efficient. We chose to rent two beach cabanas for the entire stay, and it was well worth it. Sadiye, our attendant at the cabana, took care of us for the entire trip with the exception of her day off. She was kind, courteous, learned our patterns and made sure everyone’s dietary constraints were managed. She is a gem of a person, and she was also great with the kids, which made a huge impression upon all of us. The dinner experiences were mixed. Dayesha (I hope I didn’t misspell her name) and Rafael at Maya were terrific and took care of us for multiple dinners. The restaurants have limited menus, so it wasn’t uncommon to need to supplement with food from the buffet. However, we had the best meals at Maya, where they were able to make sure the vegetarians, the dairy-free diners and the children got what they needed. The water park was very fun for the kids and the adults too! All of us enjoyed the Cobra at least once. The slides seem well maintained. An attendant at the top ensures that certain slides are clear before sending others down, and this type of organization was quite necessary. In general the park was in good shape, although the kids’s slide area in the far left corner probably could have used a little more attention as the water wasn’t totally clear, but that didn’t stop any child from having a great time. The air in the water park is very static, and there is very little shade, so we recommend taking plenty of water bottles with you and wearing rash guards/sunscreen. The beach was cleaned daily and the cabanas are situated in an area where you could easily ignore everything other than the stretch of beach and lagoon ahead of you. The beach is rocky. Water shoes are highly recommended—for all ages. The lagoon did not have much by way of snorkeling. There were occasionally some larger fish, but not much by way of variety or quantity. Still, the water was perfect and often quite clear and great for swimming, standing and floating about. We definitely recommend experiencing the kids’ disco. The team goes out of their way to engage kids of all ages, and it was fun for the kids to participate and fun for the adults to watch. To be honest, it would be challenging for us to identify a reason why this hotel is not a great choice for families. We had a terrific time and thank the Corendon team for making it a great stay. There were several people who we haven’t mentioned directly, and in general they were all attentive, polite and helpful. Curaçao is an amazing island. Enjoy!

A Monumental Disappointment
While the marketing for The Corendon At Mangrove Beach Resort is undeniably compelling, the reality of the guest experience falls considerably short of expectations. Upon arrival, the check-in process was inefficient. Despite arriving after the designated check-in time, our rooms were not prepared, resulting in an approximately one-hour delay. Furthermore, the failure to provide towel cards for our entire party necessitated an additional trip back to the reception desk. The front desk staff exhibited a distinct lack of attentiveness and professionalism, appearing more engrossed in personal cell phone usage and conversations than guest service. Notably, the bellman provided the sole positive interaction, demonstrating a welcoming and helpful demeanor. The resort appears dated, and a noticeable lack of general upkeep was evident, with litter present throughout the grounds. Accessing dining options proved challenging due to a cumbersome reservation system and a non-functional mobile application. This often resulted in lengthy waits for what ultimately amounted to mediocre food and subpar service. The buffet experience was particularly disappointing, characterized by a consistent shortage of plates, an unhygienic environment with prevalent flies, and food that was unremarkable. Service across the resort was consistently underwhelming. Bartenders at various locations displayed a disengaged and often irritated attitude. The absence of pool or beachside beverage service was a notable inconvenience, particularly given the inclination of guests to tip generously. Furthermore, unprofessional conduct among staff, including frequent loud arguments, was observed. The beach area was disappointing, with a hard, concrete-like surface and uncomfortable loungers frequently marred by discarded food and consequent insect activity. While the pools were adequate, the main pool suffered from overcrowding and a scarcity of available seating. The smaller pools and beach area were preferable alternatives. The lack of visible groundskeeping efforts likely contributed to the overall state of the resort. In-room amenities and services also fell short. The television in our room remained non-functional for four days despite daily requests for assistance. A minor issue such as replacing batteries was met with the inconvenient requirement of collecting them from the front desk. Housekeeping service was inconsistent, occurring only four out of the seven days despite daily requests. The persistent presence of sand throughout the resort, which inevitably tracked into guest rooms, indicated a lack of thorough cleaning. While the companionship during our trip was enjoyable, the numerous shortcomings of The Corendon At Mangrove Beach Resort significantly detracted from the overall vacation experience. Prospective guests should exercise caution when considering this property

Spring Break 2025
This was our first time in CURACAO the resort is small enough it’s convenient to get to the beach the restaurants and the room the food I will rate four out of five. The sit down Restaurant it is almost impossible to get a reservation one of the sit down restaurants. We went to two the barbeque and the seafood. It was not good we needed up eating at the buffet. the buffet has a lot of more options so definitely we did not miss out. The resort has an excellent location it’s only a 10 minute walk to downtown. Gym was clean the place has Pickleball Court we don’t have kids so we did not go to the waterpark but it looked like a lot of fun. overall I think this place is worth the money. It has a beautiful beach and they try to entertain every night. DO NOT COMPARE to resorts in Mexico. Curaçao is much smaller and they must import everything. Keep an open mind. There are two resorts in one. If you stay at the Rif you can use all the facilities. If you stay at the Mangrove beach you cannot use the rif. Staff was not as friendly they can do better. Jean Pier stood out for us very friendly always checking on us. Rooms were clean and a beautiful view. I would go back

So So
This review is from a seasoned traveller. I have stayed in many all inclusive resorts over the years…but in North America. Maybe that’s the key factor here but who knows? The good stuff - Location - this resort is located within walking distance to the Rif Fort Mall where there is good shopping and restaurants. It is sometimes really busy when the cruise ships come in. From there, it’s a short walk over to the Queen Emma bridge and more shopping and site seeing in Punda. Beach - the beach is small but nice. The water is calm and great for snorkeling. The side closer to the buffet is rocky but the other side closer to the beach bar has no rocks and it’s easier to walk around in the water. Swim up to the rock ledge to see more fish. There was a cruise ship docked there almost every day. It was interesting to see. Wen - Wen works at reception and was super helpful. Our tour guide never showed up (not booked through the hotel at all) and he was really sympathetic when we explained what happened. He found someone else to take us for a tour around the city and to the distillery. Bad stuff - The staff - they are rude and most of them look like they don’t want to be there. Food availability - the food for the most part was good and there was plenty of choice at the buffet BUT…….there is one buffet restaurant on the entire resort. Breakfast starts at 7 am. If you have an early wake up for a tour or check out between 4 am and 7 am, you are sh*t out of luck. At other resorts I have stayed at, they accommodated early risers by having some kind of mini buffet available with the basics at least. Lunch was ok and our choices were the buffet or food street which is located on the beach. Dinner was the problem. The buffet opens at 7 pm until 9:30 pm. Every night was a mad dash to secure a table and the buffet was packed with people, mostly elbowing their way through the crowd to get food. There is also no table service. -nobody seats you -nobody asks you if you want drinks -nobody clears your table Noise - the stage for the nightly entertainment is located right in the middle of everything and it is LOUD. If you want to sleep before 11 pm, good luck to you. Bugs in the room - This was an absolute first for me but maybe I’m just lucky. We found ants in our room and they helped themselves to our chocolate that we bought at the duty free. We had to trash it all. I complained at reception and was told it was normal for that area. Air conditioning in the room - upon check in, we were told that our room should be kept at 22 c - 26 c because of mold issues. That wasn’t a problem for us. We set our room at 23 c. It was 18 c when we arrived. Every day after the maids came in, we noticed that they re set it back to 18c. We just kept changing it back to 23c. On our last day after we came back from the beach, it was set at 18 c and it was locked so we couldn’t change it. We spent a super cool night in our room. Service - We received a QR code to scan on arrival to request any kind of services needed. It doesn’t work. They are supposed to have a 24/7 room service for sandwiches. I ordered three times and it never came. My order history still shows my sandwich orders as pending. Mold - There was mold on the curtains in our room and also on the ceiling. Hope we don’t get sick. Useful info - Smoothie bar - I spent a lot of time there. Get the strawberry smoothie with Blue Curacao. Lobby Bar - another option for breakfast or anytime. The coffee and pastries were good and there was never a big line up. Think before you book!

The mangrove is wonderful.
The beach bartenders are very friendly and the drinks they make are very good. Ray is very kind and has given us a variety of ideas and places to check out on the island. The beach is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxed. The food here is also incredibly delicious.
