Absolutely love this place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely love this place , yes it is big but the shuttles are constantly going so you never have to wait long ! Service was amazing, you never had to wait long for someone to come along and ask if you wanted a drink ! So very very clean , they are constantly cleaning! The wait staff at the Buffet were incredible! Eric, Jose, and Miguel went out of their way to make our stay extra special! This was our second trip there and we look forward to returning next year !

Bahia Principe not worth your hard earned $
Bahia Principe Mexico (Akumal (Luxury), Coba, Tuluum, Sian Kan, Cobo “Luxury”????? I put this forward to prevent you from over investing your well-earned travel $. IMHO: this resort is a 4* resort at it’s best based on 30 years of travel experience. Accommodations: Bed = cement. My husband had to sleep on sofa in the room to find some version of comfort. Room okay otherwise. Meals: Unlimited A La Carte Meals… • Unlimited… Bull … a primary reason for our choice and ‘spending for luxury’ status • Book your A la carte restaurants in advance. Apparently there’s an app for that. o We were not advised by our Trip Central travel agent. (Last time we use them!) o Regardless… less than ½ usage on the days we were there AND unable to get reservations! • Next to zero availability upon arrival… Certainly, nothing that we wanted to (could) eat. See not above. Buffet (no matter the meal or location): • Meats, unless stewed, are so overdone they are footwear worthy. o Bring laces and you have sandals for the beach. • If stewed, the meat is warm and “eatable”. • The rest of the buffet offerings (regardless of mealtime) were warm at their very best. o Made to order eggs requires a 10+ minute commitment in line up. Pools: Pretty typical… reserve your poolside seats before you go to. Beach: Because of windward conditions, there is very limited ocean water ‘fun’. As with poolside… reserve your seats before you go to breakfast. Second Class – Even with “Luxury” status: Bahia Member’s Club / Condo Rentals: • Privilege service (reservations. etc.) is given to those who have purchased ‘privilege club status’ or condo reservations. CSR – Limited Responsiveness: Local Staff made aware: • Three nights before our departure, I finally had it and spoke with staff (my very polite ‘Karen’ moment to vent solvable issues). o My moment did get us a reservation at the ‘French’ restaurant (7 pm) for one night. Throughout our 1+hr. meal, this venue was ¼ full o I was also promised (by Cesar, a CSR manager) a special meal at the Katok (sp) restaurant… he never delivered… I could go on… Your take away… Stop and think before you book this resort or any Bahia Principe location. They over promise and under deliver. It is not worth your hard earned $.

We loved our stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal!
We loved our stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal! We stayed in the adults only section and had ocean view. Very clean room, the cleaners came in every day, cleaned our room and bed sheets. It is a large resort, which is nice as you never get bored. You have the option to go for a nice walk, or if you rather not there`s plenty of carts travelling across the resort making it easy access to wherever you would like to go. The grounds are all very clean, and all the chairs etc. get cleaned/ organized and stacked every night. Lots of entertainment throughout the day. Travelling to the sister resorts made it a nice experience. Out of all the Bahia resorts here, this one was definitely the nicest. All the staff were very friendly, service was great. The food at the buffets are all amazing, as well as the a la carte restaurants. Having a coffee shop was a bonus as well, it was delicious coffee. The shows were very well done. The only complaint would be that the beach is a bit rocky (out of the resorts control). Overall we definitely rate the resort 10/10 and highly recommend to others. We would love to return one day. Some of our favorite people included: Eddy from Infinity pool bar, Mariah from entertainment.

Staff amazing Thanks to the amazing trio!!
Very very good stay. I’ll divide the experience into 4 sections. Hotel: Complex itself consists of 4 hotels which are joined under Bahia Principe flag. We stayed in Akumal side. Just fyi the whole thing is humongous. Without cart drivers would be hard to visit the whole thing. Plenty of pools bars etc. we stayed in swim-up room. My opinion it was faced wrong way round. From 11am shade started covering the pool - made sunbathing impossible- kinda kills the whole swim-up experience. Staff: absolutely amazing!! People here are super helpful - sometimes even too helpful :). Our morning buffet we sat in the corner closest to the buffet entrance and people looking after us were just exceptional - HUGE SHOUT OUT TO LOURDES ERIC AND JOSE. Breakfast and lunch were just a pure joy. Quickly received our water coffee and tea, last day left us even a little goodbye decoration on the table that we sat by daily. Always happy always smiling. Food: Buffet very tasty and fresh. Will comfort anyone from sweets to tacos. Just pick what you enjoy the most. Alcohol wise all perfect. Cocktails were tasty however quite a lot of ques to the bars as in my opinion slightly understaffed. Overall experience: Plenty of pools, loads of activities for everyone. If you plan to just stay in the hotel you can even go and view dolphins that are in the hotel! I’d give it 4.5/5 as there were few things could do with an improvement. If we come back we’ll stay away from swim-up option and just go regular room or hot-tub option. Thanks a lot to the morning Trio for amazing time and laughs Lourdes, Eric, Jose - just pure joy to meet you three. Thanks again and see you next time. Tad
