Perfect Base for Our London Trip
This was the perfect base for our London trip. Here’s why: 1. Location – 5 min walk from Earls Court Station and 5 min walk from Gloucester Road Stations, both on the District, Circle, Piccadilly lines, which will get you so many places in London. Great airport (LHR) transportation, with Piccadilly Line being a breeze (in non-rush hour). Bus 74 stop is at front door of hotel. Cabs seemed to always be waiting at hotel. 2. Hotel Room – We were upgraded and stayed in what is called Junior Suite, which is really an oversized room. Comfortable bed, more than adequate storage, Nespresso, kettle, cooler (would have preferred refrigerator), small sofa, comfy chair, good black out curtains, easy to control HVAC, quiet (never heard a neighbor). 3. Bathroom – Everything worked perfectly. Great water pressure, easy to control shower, good bath products, plenty of counter space, nice linens. 4. Staff – We couldn’t have asked for more helpful and friendly staff members. Everyone was terrific. It started with Frazier and Mohammed, who checked us in. I’m sorry I didn’t get the names of all the helpful staff at the front and at the bell/valet station. Dining staff were also great, friendly and efficient and helpful. 5. Dining Room – We had breakfast every morning. This was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever seen. So much to choose from. Items could be cooked to order or you could choose from expansive buffet (or both). Wish I had the names of all the staff who worked in the Dining Room, because they were amazing. Special thanks to Leon and Charlie. 6. Executive Lounge – We booked a room with access to Executive Lounge. Complimentary breakfast was included and offered in the main dining room. Coffee, tea, drinks, and small treats were in lounge all day. There was an assortment of salads and smallish main type dishes and desserts offered in evenings. We often did take out from local restaurants/fast type food, ate in lounge, and had one of the offered salads as a side. 7. Additional positives – fast elevators, cookies left in room every day, house slippers, self-serve laundry right across the street (with mixed reviews but it worked for us), giant Sainsburys right across the street, M&S Food and Waitrose Food at nearby tube station areas, lots of smallish restaurants in neighborhood (fast food and restaurants), great walkable neighborhood. We spent two weeks at this hotel and did everything there was to do in London. We want to return, if only to come back to the London Marriott Kensington.

stay elsewhere
the hotel is staffed by people who have not been properly trained with regards to hospitality. The manager would be hard pressed to be topped by anyone with less charm. I witnessed him be overtly rude to staff and guests . I stayed here years ago and the staff were anything but the above. Sad how much the place has fallen with regards to value etc
