Great visit to Huatulco
The Fun crew is just that. A lot of fun leading games by the pool and around the facilities. The dancers always put on a great show as well. Lots of energy and variety in the shows. Even the karaoke night had great participation and the DJ and the MC both did an amazing job.

Fantastic First Visit to Huatulco
We just got back from 10 nights at Las Brisas and these are my thoughts. Our check in was easy and quite fast, and thanks to a friend who had been there before we had Pina Coladas in our hands while we checked in. The resort is a bit dated, but they do a good job with upkeep and landscaping. My only complaint would be a patio door on our balcony that was coming apart but we never really ended up using the balcony anyway. We stayed in the Estrellis section which is a good central location to either the Mexican Restaurant or Main Buffet. It is also great for getting down to the beach fast. We did have the Beach Blub access but never used it. The Beach Club itself has pretty lousy hours and it is far removed from everything else unlike other resorts we’ve been too where it is central and open all day. The Beach Club access (brown wrist band) also gives top shelf booze options but if you compare the menus between Green and Brown wristbands it is one or two selections per category so not a game changer. The one night I did ask for something “top shelf” -Limoncello - I was told it was an extra charge (no thanks) and I was five days into our stay before I discovered that the upgrade gave me access to bottled cervesa. That would have been nice to know up front. The resort is walkable, but if you are not up to it frequent shuttles make getting around super easy. Rooms are clean and in decent condition. everything worked and the beds were very nice. There was tons of storage in out unit and we our Junior Suite also came with a wet bar and living room area with a couch and table with four chairs which was great for playing cards at. Daily maid service was good. We tipped 50 pesos per day. We didn’t get any towel art or anything like what you might see elsewhere but that’s fine by me. The main buffet is great for breakfast and lunch. There is always selection and you can find something to eat. Desserts are bueno, and the staff is super. We ate at each of the reserved restaurants for dinner. Our favorite night out was at the Kasbah but your mileage may vary. The first time we at there was very memorable with staff putting on a show with the tea pouring and giving us Fezzes to wear for pictures. The second night there was none of that but the food was still delicious. Our second favorite meal was at the Mediterranean. Both nights we at there we’re great! The Steak house and Fish Restaurant we good, but not great. There are three beaches and we spent most of our time on the middle one. We never had to fight for chairs and snorkeled daily from there to the snorkel beach next door. Sadly, the reef is in very rough shape but there are still lots of fish to see. Our highlights were a Spotted Eagle Ray, a Green Sea Turtle, and several Tiger Snake Eels. There are servers on the beach and they take excellent care of the beach guests. The shows at night were pretty entertaining. The dancers put a lot into the shows and are there pretty much daily during the day to practice which was fun to watch too. Check out was quick and very easy. We opted to take a taxi to the airport in order to extend our stay by a couple hours because we didn’t want to leave. If you are wondering, bring pesos and not US$. Staff really seamed to appreciate tips. A couple times I tipped people who I don’t think usually get tips like the security guard that unlocked my safe when I couldn’t remember the code (darn you Mescal) and a shuttle driver during the day just because and the reactions were genuinely grateful. My daily tipping was 50p each for the maid and mini bar, 100p for buffest servers and 200-300p for the reservation restaurants depending on the services etc. Beach servers got 50p every couple of rounds and bartenders too when I got my own. Tip the guys who carry your bags, they really deserve it. We did take taxis to La Crucecita and Santa Cruz and really like both towns. They are very safe and the people are great. We did notice it was hard to barter but that could just be my lousy bartering skills. Finally, I would like to give a shoutout to some of the staff that made our trip memorable. All of the staff were amazing but these few really stood out: Roberto my bald brother from another mother who served us at the Mediterranean Restaurant. Xochi (Sochi) who served us on the beach and didn’t laugh at my mangled Spanish. Oscar who drove the shuttle for us several times including one night when I got to learn about his family, how long he has been at Las Brisas (4 years) and who gave me a great Spanish lesson, and Ariel (I think) one of the hostesses who we saw virtually everyday, often early in the morning and late and night. She always had a huge smile and greeted our group like we were old friends. All in all Las Brisas is a great resort it just needs a little TLC but that won’t stop us from returning. Muchas gracias por una estancia maravillosa!

Love Las Brisas ❤️
BBC Lounge: The Breakfast Manager (I couldn’t see a name tag) is outstanding! She is a ray of sunshine in the morning, with her beautiful smile, welcoming demeanour and exceptional service! The lattes are wonderful. The Lounge is available to Beach Club guests and is located in the Mar Section. It’s a little gem of a perk, especially for early morning coffee and is also a very nice place to relax in the evening, except that it closes early (7pm). Activities: Braulio is a remarkable, hardworking leader of the Animation team and Las Brisas is very fortunate to have him! I highly recommend his aqua aerobic classes. Yoga instructor, Roberto and Bird Tour Guide, Pablo are amazing too! Carts Service: The resort shuttle service is much appreciated! I did a ton of walking, but am also so very grateful for the efficient cart service. Jamie really stands out as one who is consistently pleasant and pays attention to the little details, which helps contribute to a most enjoyable experience. Snorkelling: On site snorkelling is excellent, especially on days when the tide is high. Beaches: They are all fabulous and it’s quite unique to have 3 to choose from! A La Cartes - Mid Stay Review I made 2 suggestions (one that having a lounge chair on my balcony would be a nice touch and the next day, one magically appeared!) and the other suggestion is to have more vegetables and sides and less meat on the main course plates at the A La Carte Restaurants. I feel as if that suggestion was taken seriously. I would love to see more Guests at the restaurants. The staff work very hard to make their restaurant popular. I think the biggest issue is that many of the guests are particular about their food and as a result, most people frequent the buffet, where there is more selection. I would suggest that Guests submit their own suggestions, as I do believe, if a suggestion makes sense and is doable, Las Brisas Management will listen! Tours: Julio, with West Jet/Nexus Tours, is a wealth of information. I am grateful for his help in organizing wonderful family experiences. He is the Go-to-Guy for safe, enjoyable, unique activities. If you have specific concerns, he will provide excellent options! Tips: Book the Mar Section for a large balcony, excellent view, comfortable bed, BBC Lounge and unlimited A La Cartes. Ask A La Carte Servers for Menu recommendations. Visit during shoulder season for best vacation price, efficient shuttle service, space at the beach and less wait-times. Consider booking a private, sunset boat tour to appreciate the magnificence of the gorgeous coast…book through Julio and ask for Fermin for your Guide and Joel for your Boat Captain. Enjoy!

Huatulco nightmare!
Well let me tell you about this place??? We decided to travel with a group of people 20 and only knew 2 a great couple we know from Victoria BC where we live. One of the 20 booked this place and our friends tagged along because they know them as being snow birds with them and we decided to join our friends on their group travel for 10 days…. Only words can say what a dive this place is… Old run down and having to get transported to your room and back because the hotel is built on a mountain side ! The pools are absolutely pathetic as there is only one adult pool which is 20’ by 20’ then the kids pool is 10 feet from that. The main pool is 30 feet from the adult pool and it had 40 Mexican kids in it with zero parents watching them cause the parents are on holiday.. The beach was nice but you had to walk a long way down to it. Food in the buffet you had to pick through it because everything was so fatty and over cooked. We lasted 3 days and asked West Jet to move us to Dreams down the beach for $250 Canadian which was a no brainer. All I can say is there are way better places than this for $250 more for 10 days. I will never join a group of people for a holiday unless I know them! This place was like taking ten steps backwards from the first time I stayed in Mexico. Drop the microphone!!!

An amazing experience that doesn't break the bank!
I went with my family for a week and we loved it. There were many options for excellent food in different locations near and far from my room. The air conditioning WORKS WELL. The service is excellent and prompt. The resort is fairly spread out so you can take the shuttle but I just walked - I was never further than a 10 minute walk away from anything. Most importantly, the coral reef at the hotel provides the BEST SNORKELING I've done in my life, and I've been snorkeling and scuba diving all over the world. The weather was perfect every single day. I will definitely be coming back here.
